Apple is like North Korea. locked down, walled garden, I-know-better-than-you operating system and hardware. Maybe expand your horizons and save your money on a more open and widely adopted platform instead of waiting for Apple to get their head out of their ass? I heard you guys finally got a widely adopted and standardized USB-C connection after EU basically forced these bastards to so. I'd say go touch grass but you Apple users would try to eat it.

It feels like 10 years since rompocalypse and we are still riding the wave. I was working for Emuparadise when they 'shut down', so-to-speak. It was depressing and shocking. I still miss writing that newsletter, it was one of the highlights of those years for me. Wish I had a way to do something like that again.

With a dose of optimism it isn’t another PS Portal or Logitech G Cloud, but with the Logitech streaming handheld existing, maybe Microsoft will have third party handhelds as streaming-focused, I think they saw the PS Portal and the negative reception and may use the opportunity. Another thing I assume is Microsoft is gonna use the Xbox handheld to test out a handheld-only Windows version

Winlator is more intuitive than Mobox and better than Mobox in general maybe not in terms of performance but it can run a couple of games

Winlator is amazing. Now, I'm playing yugioh legacy of duelist link evolution and older games that no longer playable on windows10~12 on my smartphone without issues.

It does with almost every apk based windows emulator. Winlator 1.0 was also flagged as virus by the google protection services.

I'm still just streaming Xemu from my PC to my Android for XBOX games.
The PC Ports from that era are wack.
This update was great. Only downside is controller recognition. Hope it's fixed with v.7.1.
How does Winlator work? Is it a workstation like Virtual Box and VMWare, or is it a genuine emulator?
It's a userspace emulator so it's way faster than a virtual machine.

@@Cyberbrickmaster1986 Yes it is. Winlator used wine to run compatibility layer for windows applications. The things about winlator is, windows app can be optimized and run flawlessly because most android smartphones already supported arm64 architecture. It's amazing that resident evil 7 already playable in winlator. Few future updates and RE village will be fully playable too in the future.

Windows is HORRIBLE for Handhelds. They have terrible battery life cuz they have to run said game AND the windows processes in the background. what a waste really
Yes, if the emulator app is set to the "Game" category macOS(now iOS as well) will automatically enable Game Mode when the emulator is full screen.
Also, if you ask me... Nintendo and others are preparing to make ROMS available in the App Store and Google Play store. Apple allows emulators and then Nintendos lawyers are going full scorched earth on file sharing sites?

Im kind of happy that i dont have to fight the emulators anymore. Got close to every retro game that has launched on a 15 TB hdd, and its pretty much full. I dont own much of the customs. But if I want em, like double dragon. Il grab em.
Hi I have octa core processor with 6gb ram, forget playing 3D games it does not even run 2d games.
Can't install DIRECTx or VC++.

Octa core processor means nothing and tells us nothing so thats your first problem.
Emulation means Snapdragon. If you get this, then you've solved half of your problems already.

@@RedDevil27238 As far as I know, you cannot install direct X on any emulators. I could be wrong but I have tried and read somewhere that installing directx isn't possible. They already come pre-installed and you'll have to work with whatever directx version you have. And FYI, 4gen1 is *VERY* underpowered. Even 2d games will run like a slideshow on that Processor. It's best to atleast get a minimum of snapdragon 7xx G series processor to play 2d games with playable fps.
Anyone expecting a ‘Windows Handheld PC’ from Microsoft should temper their expectations. I expect an Xbox Series Console experience only, with cloud capabilities (something like PS Vita or 3DS). Microsoft is not willing to spend the resources (but more importantly the TIME) to make sure that generations of Steam games work on a Windows environment, no one is.
For seamless PC gaming, just get a Steam Deck.
Honestly I was a Nintendo fan boy my entire life until recently. Microsoft has also upset me because they suspended my rewards account when I didn't do anything wrong or different from what I had been doing ie doing the tasks to earn rewards and then spending my rewards. So Valve and Sony are my favorites moving forward.
not to mention Recall, that also puts Microsoft lower on my list

we can all agree with winlator being good for now but when cassia drops..... yep its killed instantly they had a switch emulator boot its first games in a handful of months of development and they started straight from the ground up.

Before they became hip, gaming on Macs was quite a thing with Blizzard and EPIC actually releasing their games for MacOS natively.

I'd heavily disagree; more like gaming was ruined by everything. Like for example large corporations having any say in game development, that alone created a whole host of systemic problems in the industry.

Nintendo isn't erasing its history. They do better then most maintaining THEIR history. They maintain a lot check server that has a copy of every game they have every released/licensed. They are just fine. We know this from the gigaleaks - we have lists of roms and got a good chunk of the roms themselves. They are attempting to erase your ability to find and play these roms. It sucks, they shouldn't even care, but it is Nintendo. They just seem to despise their fans. Like when they take down mods and fan projects that do nothing but help promote and draw interest to their brand. We need to at least be honest about what they are attempting to achieve. They can't erase anything from the internet, but they can make it so the average Joe can't look at the first 5 Google results and starting downloading their back catalog.
Its Xbox so you can bet any console/handheld they have wil have some sort of required internet check in.

Emuparadise was the first greatest loss for emulation.
Keep your sd card or drive ready in case 😅, I don't even trust windows to keep my data anymore, but i can't switch to lunix due to work .
The roms on Emuparadise is still available to download if you use a script if I remembered correctly

If you emulate GameCube, Dreamcast and PS2, sure.
If all you play are old GameBoy games, probably not.
what exactly is your basis for your statement? I have a Galaxy s24 ultra. and run emulators even ps2/gamecube with 0 issues with battery. been doing this for a year now.
@@gzero26 I said about iPhone, bro. Read my comment carefully. iPhone still use lithium ion battery and it degrade faster than lithium polymer battery. Most android smartphones nowadays already use lipo battery. Li-on battery life cycle started to degrade after 500 charge cycle while li-po 1000 charge cycle and up.
Modern android smartphone support arm64 and vulkan. That's why most emulators can be optimized for performance and less battery consumption in android smartphones.

I'm hesitant to update my IOS. Mostly because of these 'rumors' that all latest updates tend to make older iphones go 'bad' or start working slower, supposedly an attempt by Apple to push customers to buy new phones. Being in a third world country, I already paid a lot for my iphone x max and can't afford for it to go wonky (still on ios 16). Can anyone confirm if there is any truth to these conspiracies? Cuz, gaming mode seems like a nice update.
Could not care less about an Xbx handheld, I've never liked MS's business practices, period. Phil claiming it should play offline is just him playing to the audience for clout. Even if it's not cloud based they'd still want it mining data. MGS Delta is probably the Nov. 11 date, If it's coming before the end of the year and GS don't have a release date, obviously the 31st a placeholder as it's the last possible day it could be released. I'm all for Microsoft having a handheld, like valve they are only one of the few companies who was sell at cost or maybe even take a small hit on the system.
But I can't just be random Windows thrown on there because it will be just a junk machine, has to be a separate slimmed streamlined windows.. and it has to be heavily updated like the steam deck.
I think people buy it in Mass but I don't think Microsoft has enough dedication like Valve has to listen to the community.
What valve has done is nothing short of astonishing, but it's up to Microsoft you can make a hit or you can make s***.

An Xbox / Microsoft Gaming handheld would be as doomed to failure as their mainline consoles. If you go back to the pre-Switch days when the only companies really producing handhelds were the main console manufacturers an MSG handheld might have been able to find a niche, but now? When there are so many independent handhelds being produced? Not a hope.
Given Microsofts proven history, and the details leaked last year around their plans for Nintendo, MSG is likely to attempt a 'hostile takeover' of independent handhelds running on Windows via an OS update. If they do, it will certaily backfire.
MSG at this point is simply too rotten at the core, and won't survive as a console manufacturer for much longer. The Xbox brand has been irrevocably weakend by a litany of bad decisions, and it's only getting worse.
MS will continue to fail unless its entire management tier and internal ethos changes.
These foolish tiktokers are the reason for this condition of vimms 🤬

If only Nintendo knew how to do business. Instead of going after roms and emulators, they should just offer a Steam-like experience for all platforms and sell these roms for cheap. Imagine how much money they'd make if they did that. An emulator frontend with support for all Nintendo's systems. That would have been possibly their biggest money maker of all time. But no. They have to destroy gaming and make people feel bad for buying their games.

@@Micchi- All corporations exist only for only reason - to make money. They might pretend to be "good" or even try to be when they are under management of certain people. But then those people retire or die and company policies change.
Remember "we'll never have microtransactions or lootboxes". And then Mario Kart Tour happened. With prices of gems being about the same as average full AAA game for just 5 attempts of opening a lootbox. And then the whole Smash Bros Melee COVID case. Disgusting and shameful. But corporations have no shame. Remember when even Ubisoft and EA were good companies making great games. And what they they turned into when they grew bigger? And then there's Japanese corporate culture, remember all those worker abuse cases at Konami and SEGA? Many Japanese keiretsu are not much different from old zaibatsu, except that they have less power. They still have their own yakuza. Even if you like products they make - any large corporation will never be your friend. You are just a *resource* for them, to be exploited for profit. As well as people and studios that actually *make* games. Surprise-surprise - it was gaming corporation, western though, that said that people should get used to not owning anything. And head of much bigger corporation said that depopulation has its benefits.
