Breaking the Magician's Code: Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed is a series of television shows produced by Nash Entertainment in which the closely guarded secrets behind classic magic tricks and illusions are exposed by the Masked Magician, aided by his beautiful assistants.
The enormously popular TV specials and series featured the incognito magician performing large-scale illusions and a few smaller-scale close-up magic tricks... then revealing the secrets of how the tricks were done.
Hahahahaha the assistants using their hands was hilariously bad
The trick would be better without that bit 😅
im glad this is the first comment lol i was like wow thats bad
yeah, terrible LMFAO
When I watched David Copperfield doing this, I was like "Wtf are the 2 assistants doing with the cloth? Checking whether the cloth is broken?" It's so bad that I don't even realize it's supposed to illustrate DC trying to escape from the wall.
So glad this is the top comment lol that was so obvious
It's obvious that it was the assistants hands!
agreed
IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOO OBVIOUS
+Zivio it was SSOOOOO OBVIOUS. THEY HANDS WERE IN THE FREAKING BACK OF THE SHEET.
Yea u could also se that they where really consentrading xD
rF TeKkErZ I know right
Even learning how these illusions are done make me respect the illusionists even more. Excellent planning and execution. I've especially learned that you cannot be a fat, out-of-shape illusionist.
@NATHANIEL AMAYA rude.
🥺 I can try...
Wrong my fat is the ultimate illusion…..
Only 100% thief able material can be ''magicians'', it seems.
Well, you can if you're content to just do the tricks where your assistants have to be the ones squeezing into small crawlspaces. lol
I had this series on VHS. It was amazing. I learned quite a bit about how many acts were performed and their secrets
where are you performing now?
The real magic is how those containers get inside the studio
Fork lift
Big air plane hangers
Thats why it call a magic
You mean in a warehouse
tractor and stacker duh
Copperfield Used the camera crane to go to the other side, as it goes over the wall and at a point is near an exit/entry point of the platform on the other side. It is really in your face all the time.
Thanks. I was going to say obviously they couldnt have just wheeled the stairs around the great wall of china during his trick lol.
It's only thing that we know crosses the wall. Makes since. Not watching this it just came after Copperfield China video.
czcams.com/video/QCBUx4g5H04/video.html at 11:18 "When I went over the wall" lol.
I don't understand this part, can someone explain to me?
@@andyng5321 same!
The light on Copperfield’s trick was the entire panal... no dark corners. If anyone in there lifted a trap door, it’d b easily seen on the shadow.
Also there were ppl on the GWoC as Copperfield did this. They didn’t c him flying across w the cam crane?
I dun get it either 🤷🏻♀️
Shadow puppetry has reached it's true form. What can you do with your acting major? When the lighting nerd met the acting nerd they became one body and walked through solid walls. Truly the theatre of dreams!
A pleasure to watch this well made illusion. Seeing the trick just makes you appreciate even more its ingeniousness.
What illusion! What trick! Are you blind?👹
I love this. And big kudos to whoever designed that mask. Combined with the demonstrator's movements and showmanship, the character of the mysterious masked magician is friggin awesome. I love the crossing of the arms. So cool!!!
In the David Copperfield show, David's FACE came through the screen on the other side of the Great Wall, so it was not just the assistants' hands. Also, was there even a tunnel which allows one to cross over to the other side of the Wall?!
Copperfield's assistant had to push him miles to the other side😂
This is a really bad trick…any time you need a curtain to hide what you’re doing is just rubbish
@@jonschreiners5006 your mom is rubbish
mask!?
Probably it was a mask. One assistant had it planted on his forearm, the other took it and pressed against fabric.
Can't believe I didn't realize it was the assistant hands
I remember seeing this as a kid, good times!
7:55 nailed it!!
how did david copperfield get to the other side of the great wall of china then? cos you can't go around it
im not a noob they have doors
Helena Brunker what's the point of the Great Wall if it has doors lol. Im sure he used a crane some where far away, hence why he chose to do it at night
he was hidden in the stairs
Kris Deng 0
Helena Brunker A crane lifted the stairs over to the other side off camera.
This was my childhood i loved this show, as it made me interested in illusions and magic tricks
The creativity is simply amazing!
i feel like there's some sexual tension between the magician and the steel walls
I am very uncomfortable with the energy we have created in the studio today
owo
Great magic video,
Love it!
They said they don't have trapdoors but they do! Wow......

+artur sarkis that's what I said
Not on the steel crates.
Not really a trap door. That's a hidden compartment.

AWESOME TRICKS!
I guessed everything right except for the trap doors. you could just walk through the curtain in the back and run behind the stage then get into position again, they made it much more difficult than it needed to be
Blaze Unicron This is specifically revealing how David Copperfield did it with the Great Wall of China, which was done outdoors and surrounded.
@@rowelle added to it was way old trick than this ep. way back 70s - 80s show
It's the assistants hands doing it but I watched David copperfield do it there was two hands and a head sticking out
Yeah correct
@@Diaz_O i have a really hard time imagening a mask _inside_ a stick
I'm also struggling with how they did the face in Copperfields video!
@@bormarken it was a mask on a stick.
Getting some Nightmare on Elm Street vibes with the spandex wall...
amazingly amazing.
How to walk through a wall.
A door.
Then you walk through a doorway
*clears throat* sledgehammer
Key word: SOLID
Or....or you could ya know run as fast as possible and hope for the best
I totally say it has a hidden door bro
3:42 No trapdoors were found
6:27 Slipping through another trapdoor
An amazing channel! Thank you very much
2:24 I saw the Magician's Shadow when he was sliding down the stairs. If you guys can't tell. Just Look at The Bottom Right
When David Copperfield did his supposed walk through the Great Wall, I suspected a different version of the trick. He had an truly excessive number of white-clad workers scrambling all over the steps and platform, in and out of the curtains as if checking myriad details. It would have been very easy for Copperfield to wear a tear-away costume with a worker's uniform underneath and a white cap in his pocket and slip out in the confusion after he "disappeared" and the mass of workers again swarmed the setup.
When everything was reassembled on the other side of the wall, I think they did the same thing in reverse: Copperfield, in tear-off worker's togs, a cap (and maybe a wig or mustache), joined the throng of workers and, in all the exaggerated activity, never left the curtained platform. The disguise could easily have fit in a shallow compartment in the floor, and then the "exit" pantomime in front of the light began as shown is this video.
look at the right bottom corner at 2:24 carefully ;D
Wow! That's an impressive theory. Do you practice any magic yourself?
Nope. But I find that the big showy illusions are usually easier to figure out than most close-up illusions. When you're moving bodies or vehicles or other large items, there are only so many ways to do it.
That's awesome that you can figure that out! Are there any magic tricks that have really stumped you?
Oh, definitely! I watched a person on TV stand inside a frame on a platform that was attached to a long, counterweighted lever. A curtain dropped as they were swung out over the first row of the audience, and then, a short time later, the curtain fell to reveal an empty platform. No. F'ing. Idea.
I'm not expert by any stretch of the imagination, but the Secrets Revealed show was an education in the principles behind a lot of stage magic.
The real illusion is getting the stairs to the other side of the Wall. In the video, it goes very smoothly that it looks like the stairs have been on the other side prepared already.
I remembered like 7 years ago, I always love this trick ;-;

How did they move the stairs around the wall, tho...
penkata drums they used a crane
Crane
Two sets of stairs.
thats the real magic
Possibly a body double during the first bit of the trick
I used to LOVE this show on a Saturday night ha!
Thank you .Did not expect more or less dupidity
It was literally the very first thing that came to mind when they started poking their hands through the fabric. That flash was so bright I nearly went blind!
Still a really cool illusion like all the ones in this series... and the revealed tricks are even better and unbelievably simple!
I wish both OG and clone magicians would've mouthed a childish "hi hi" when the camera would zoom in on their secret hideouts. ☻
Interesting!
awesome!!
This is such a callout and it's hilarious
Wow, I never reckoned out that the assistants holding the fabric panel were also pushing their hands through it. Amazing trick.
I love it
I love Teller in this.
For those asking how Copperfield got to the other side of the wall - the Great Wall is actually very low in some parts. When I visited it, I was surprised to find that some parts of it were only a meter high. The Great Wall was basically used as a lookout point on high hills. It's not impossible for Copperfield to jump over certain parts of the wall in the darkness if they were low enough... or the assistants could have wheeled him to a low point in the wall, or there was a a ladder somewhere in the darkness for him use. It was nighttime after all, and the camera was only focused on the trick.
The camera crane also goes over the wall. Could have wheeled him out with the stairs then hid him on the crane, or even just attached the stairs to the crane to be lowered and used on the other side. With everyone focused on the wall below, even if someone saw the stairs being hoisted over they likely wouldnt have thought much of it.
@@functionatthejunctionThe stairs going over the wall to the other side is exactly how they did it. 👍
David copperfeild does the shadow part way better also the part were his hands are pressing through the wall he also has his face.
And how do you get the stairs to the other side of the Great Wall of china?
Exactly. They didn't reveal how the stairs got to the other side of the Great Wall of China. Was there a pass thru?
Zak Harrison One assistant has a mold of the face while the other assistant has a bar with molds of two outstretched hands attached and they just press it up against the fabric. This was very clever.
Zak Harrison David Copperfield used double, that's why he did it at night and no close up look. Search Christopher Hart. He was the one entering the Wall. David waited on the other side.
Your magic is more easily,, than David,, I more like David than your magic...
You'r the Best masked magician
Entertaining ...!
When he was getting ready to go through he had to act like a famous model 😂
They could've easily done it without the double for the first part, he could've left from the side of the spotlight and simply walk behind the container.
pretend it's the Great Wall of China so you can't run around
Yeah pretend it’s the Great Wall of china
The double is misdirection. The double pretending to be the magician and taking his sweet time going through the wall is giving the real magician time to get to the other side.
so COOL!
awesome trick
It's also obvious he is using a double because the real mask man is more fat
Thicc *
maybe the "real" masked man was the double all the time🤔
the second he stepped into the closed off box with the silhouette, you could tell there was somethink not lining up
That is rude😡
They are not trying to really sell the trick. They are just interested in showing you how others do it.
This is a lot less mind blowing then I remember when i was watching as a kid.
Awesome
Good Movie
Usually the narrator starts being sarcastic about the magician then when it's secret time, he starts getting very serious.
3:34 its pretty clear that those are just both assistants hands behind the tarp
Amazing ..nc
regarding how Copperfield got over the wall, it's likely that the trick took longer in real life than was shown on television, so he'd have more time to do it
For yr info, David did not use the same staircase to come down.
Exactly what I thought.... so how did copperfield do it?
Exactly what I want to know. You can't roll a staircase to the other side of the Great Wall. I'm sure the Mongols tried.
Copperfield must have an identical twin no one has ever seen before
The same way any 'transportation' trick is done. Twins. Or a realistic double if they're appearing far enough away from an audience like on top of a tall building.
Or possibly, there's tunnels under the wall, a way to move troops to defend the wail. In which case no double is needed, just time to move from one trap door/staircase to the other.
"this is getting creepy" *facepalm*
Man I loved this show as a kid.
the commentary is the best part of this show
3:51 wheres his face ?so Just hand ?
Okay, if Copperfeild was hidden in the steps how did they get the steps on the other side of the Great Wall? It’s so long how did they get it on the other side?
The stashed David or the stairs on the camera crane which went over the wall to get that panning shot you see in his special.
There is a tunnel under the section of the Great Wall where the trick was peformed.
when you think about it is really clever because most people including myself when watching it, would have thought that there was a door in to the container that he could have pushed and one that he could have pulled in from the other side. and it is probably the first thing people would think of
awesome
3:59
The hands belong to the two guys holding up the white board...Duhhhh....

thats sooo cool must. tack a lot of practice
I love this guy
Imagine having to pay a guy who looks like you for the rest of his life to keep his mouth shut? That's some real sacrifice.
@@Diaz_O That's not what I meant. Artists like Copperfield are nothing without their teams, which never get half the recognition.
@@IshamTrivedi The team members might not care about recognition as long as they're getting paid. Plus, they get to travel around different places to assist the magician and that alone would be worth it to many of them.
@@IshamTrivedi same goes to any famous singers/actors
Hm, I had assumed the light was actually a video projector and there was no one inside to case a shadow...
THAT WAS AWESOMENESS
Thanks Lowery! We put new videos out every week!
Sangat Bagus
The only thing I didn't catch was the double, which seems a bit extra. He could have easily done it without the double, just by having one trapdoor into the stairs.
It buys him time to do next part....
2:18 That transition is so bad. There’s a delay between when he walks in and when his shadow appears, semi revealing the trick
Not to mention @2:25 you can see the second guy’s head shadow in the bottom right corner.
Yep, Copperfield's act was seamless, guess that's why he got world renown.
I mean, this is just a mock up to demonstrate how Copperfield’s trick was done. They literally focus a light on the double going into the platform so you can see how this is all staged. There’s no point in wasting dozens of additional man hours to practice and make something seamless that you’re literally revealing to everyone within the same breathe as to how it’s engineered lol it’s why the hands through the sheet aren’t convincing and why they gloss over certain specifics of the actual trick.
Realy this amazing from magican val valantino
“ to get him out you’ll need an industrial sized can opener”

THE DAVID COPPERFIELD ONE HAD A HEAD POPPING OUT OF THE PANEL!!!!!! NOT JUST HANDS
It was Freddy
Also he doesn't use double. So try again
its a very great trick
A magician or illusionist is meant to be entertainment. Thats the exciting part. Knowing the takes that away. Enjoy and be amazed
why the magician look, act, and move like a gta character
Don't Trust The Stairs 😂😂
The effect truly was so startling it didn't occur to me to check where all the assistants' arms were

Wew and still this is such an genius idea
Narrated by A.D. Walter Skinner from the X-Files?
Yes!
Dude I literally JUST posted the same comment before noticing yours!
Dude your so awesome I just want to ask why do you have a mask on and never show you????🤔
Anna Parks When the show first started, he was masked to conceal his identity (Valentino). Now it's just for novelty and so that they can just put anyone else in the costume.
I remember watching this one.
What’s obvious is the light causing his shadow to look 10 feet tall. Showing that he is closer to the light that being inside the “box” could have allowed.
This made me wonder on David Copperfield's illusion of the Great wall:
1. The stairs are too thin, no compartment there could fit him.
2. There's a face other than the 2 hands sticking out of the wall.
3. It's the great wall, not a container where you can easily go around it in 30 seconds.
Of course he didn't use a stair to transfer him over. David Copperfield go to the other side of the wall by circling through India, Indian Ocean, South Pole, South and North America, North Pole, Russia, Mongolia then back at the other side of GWoC.
They just play the video speed up.
Its easy to determine that the stair is thinner than the one presented here.
Where's the mold and which hand was holding and controling it?
How did you determine that he was riding a crane going over the wall? Any evidence or proof on this?
