Val Valantino is the original masked magician, and this is another guy. According to Wikipedia it was never revealed who this second masked magician was.
@@harizotoh7 did they ever find out who was the masked magician from the street magic special? The one who revealed David Blaine's routine?
Also, does anyone know if Valentino reprised his role as the Masked Magician from the 2008 revival that revealed Criss Angel's routines?

The guy who wore all black and the black face mask ( looked like a burglar) was Val valinto. This costume style of the guy with long hair and masquerade similar to Robin from Batman is Chris Angel!
Is this really how Houdini did it? It seems pretty dependent on the audience looking through a camera rather than seeing it live.

this is not val valentino
The masked magician is magician Val Valentino, I have watched several episodes of this show and this is the first time I've seen him with this mask, I'm not sure but I think this is probably from the very first episodes before changing his mask and making the other mask a regular one episodes later.
Valentino was only in the first 4 from 97. This one is different guy from a different special done in 02. They never revealed who this guy was.

Does the large mirror split open behind the split panels?
Even I had the same question at first.. then someone below explained it.. the door itself contains both the large mirrors (one on each side)..so when he opens the door, all he has is the portal with the split mirrors.. when the door is closed back, we see the solid mirror through the portal's opening..

Even before watching this video, I already knew there's got to be something tricky about that " solid " mirror.
It's so thick, to begin with.
LOL well there isn't too much else they could vary here.
The only thing in magic that actually is not thicker than it looks is the assistants, they generally look larger than they really are, filling up comparatively large spaces before folding away into the props. (See sawed lady etc)
Is Val Valentino still alive in real life? I used to love this show and I still do now! Sorry this is so late!
