Steve: Eddie Albert was a personal friend of mine. I met him in 1998 and would often visit him at his home. He once came to visit me in my home town and we had a wonderful reception for him. He thoroughly enjoyed his visit. Eddie was a very kind man who always took time to stop and speak with those who would recognize him no matter where he was at. He said if it were not for his fans, he would not be the man he was. He planted his own vegetables at his home. His front and back yards clearly showed this. When I would eat at his home, I always enjoyed the fresh salads from his garden. I truly appreciate my friendship with Eddie.

@@TheGraveyardChannel When you were doing Albert's mini bio you left out his role in "The Longest Day" where he appeared alongside Robert Mitchum, and many other works including "Brother Rat" starring future POTUS Ronald Reagan. I mention those war movies because Albert was actually a decorated WW2 Coast Guard & Navy war vet who was in the battle of Tarawa where he was the skipper/pilot of a crew of troop boats in the amphibious landing of US Marines. Albert distinguished himself receiving a Bronze Star with Combat "V" for courageously, directly, and indirectly rescuing 37, and another 40 Marines respectively, that were trapped on the bloody beach that was under extremely heavy fire. Albert had toured Mexico as a clown and high-wire artist with the Escalante Brothers Circus. But Albert was undercover there also secretly working for the U.S. Army intelligence, photographing German U-boats in Mexican harbors.
Steve, You mentioned 'Holiday on the Buses' in this video. It was a popular movie in Australia at the time as was the series 'On the Buses'. I believe the Star of the series, Reg Varney, was the first person to use an ATM in the UK. Dan

Eddie Albert was a war hero. He received a bronze star for his bravery during the battle of Tarawa Island in the Pacific theater. I Ioved Green Acres and still do. I watch the reruns whenever I can find them. Good video.
My FAVORITE SITCOM of all time....I can watch it today and still laugh out loud! We were stationed at Plesanton California for 2 years; the most beautiful state I have ever seen....too old now (73) but my bucket list WAS to visit California Wine Country!

I love me tv they often bring back shows I was too young to remember.this way I get to see them again and remember a time when tv was wholesome and the whole family could watch.i appreciate watching for the first time or getting to see the ones I never got to see..its good to see where they are buried. What happened to Arnold the pig. That pig was very smart.made me laugh..there's not one actor or actress I didn't like. I loved them all.thanks for a mother good vlog. I have no problem rewatching a video I've seen before. Hello Steve. I'm new a subscriber. Being home with the flu, watching CZcams, I came across your channel. First, I'd like to thank you. Your demeanor and respect for the final resting place of the many Hollywood artists is extremely appreciated and exceptional. Many years ago Edward Albert was a client and neighbor of mine and someone who became a friend. I met his parents several times and have one precious memory of having tea with Margo while looking through the family's photo albums. She was an amazing woman. So, again thank you for being so kind in your vlogs...to me and many others the people you highlight are people we love dearly. And coincidentally, I remember seeing Star Wars at the very same theater. It was an enormous line but definitely worth the wait. Love to meet you in person sometime.

There were several crossover episodes where the characters from the Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres and Petticoat Junction visited with each other down there at Hooterville. Granny had a big crush on Mr. Drucker. There was a big holiday dinner at the Shady Rest in one episode. I always thought it would have been fun for Jethroe to take a long look at Kate, then look at the camera and say " Nahhh ".
Great stuff as usual, Steve. I think one of Eddie Albert's greatest film roles, which may have earned him an Oscar nomination/award was as the shell shocked crazy colonel in the film "Captain Newman, MD", which had a star studded cast. The lead was played by Gregory Peck, along with Angie Dickinson, Nick Adams, Robert Duval and Lee Remick. What a terrific film, which most have probably never even heard of. Thanks again!

When I was a kid, I enjoyed Switch. It was a detective show Eddie Albert did with Robert Wagner. He was an ex cop, Wagner was an ex con. They started a detective agency.

I was 19 years old when Star Wars came out in 1977. I waited in line at the Old National Four in College Park, Georgia to see the first showing. I ended up going back to watch two more times. We had NEVER seen anything like it before.
Back in 1977, my friends, and sister in law went to Gateway Theater to see Star Wars. The line wrapped around the theater, and onto the parking lot. The owner of Gateway Theater decided to show The Star War movie's in all six movie theaters to reduce the lines...amazingly it worked, no fights broke out...and everybody went home with all smiles.
You aren't alone. I, too, recall the theaters in which I have viewed memorable movies. Good narration work! Your anecdotes are spot on with just what I would want to know. I decided to subscribe after having watched a only a few of you videos. I've often thought that it would be fun to visit gravesites of famous people or gravestones with unusual names and practice the hobby of Gravestone Rubbing. I think that would be a nice collection in an oversized notebook. Crazy, I know! Have you ever done that with any of the gravesites you've visited?
i've heard that it's pretty popular back east where cemeteries are much older and it's often difficult to read the inscriptions. everything is pretty new here in california, so real need to. i think it's great to preserve the past that way, though. thanks for watching and subscribing, david. i appreciate it!
I hadn't thought of that, but that would be interesting thing to do with relatives graves old and new, friends who have passed, maybe keep a separate ones for celebrities. The reason it might be helpful is preservation of family graves. Even looking at them after 10 years passing they may start to show little signs of wear. After 30 years they show a bit more and 60 or more years the wear can start to become very noticeable. Plus, I'm not sure if this is a good or a bad thing, but the energy that comes off those things might be a little interesting, so maybe that's not such a good idea to bring that all back from the grave, especially if there will be a whole book of them, lol.
Green Acres is the place to be!!! I watched each show and still watch the reruns when I see the listing on t.v. and it's a shame that there is not more clean t.v. shows today, like the good ole days. I'm looking forward to another great video and seeing all famous graves from our beloved actors and learning about their lives. Thanks for all you do and the hard, long hours and work that you do for each video.
I like the show even better now than when I watched it as a kid! And pretty soon you are going to be in one of these videos :-) BTW, I may be in Tulsa a day or two later than I was planning. Hey buddy, not a problem with the date of you arriving in Tulsa and like I told you before, I am really flexible and still opened to when you arrive on the day of arrival, I have kept my calendar clear the 1st and 2nd week of June. I have been to Branson so many times over the years and seen so many changes over the years, it's amazing. I can remember the 1st time I went to Branson in the late 1970's it was still fairly small and somewhere packed away, I have the group picture of the cave there. My mother just said "Good Morning Young Man" to you! My mother also stated that you have a great trip and enjoy your Grandson's graduation and be safe on the road. Chat with you later!

I looked up his son, Eddie Albert, Jr. and gasped when I saw him, because I remember him and his work. I didn’t know he passed away, so thank you for that info.
His son was his caregiver, as Eddie Albert suffered from Alzheimer's in his later years. Edward Albert was diagnosed with lung cancer before his dad died. Did you know that Earth Day is observed on April 22nd, Eddie Albert's birthday? He was a co-founder, and a staunch environmentalist. @@TheGraveyardChannel
I was there in October of 2015. It was the highlight of my visit there. In 1996, I made a vow that I was going to visit Eva Gabor's grave on my next visit to Los Angeles. And I did. I kept that vow! I also saw Eddie Albert's, Merv Griffin's, and a few other celebrities' graves as well. As the Number One Green Acres fan in the entire country, I wanted to pay my respects to Eva Gabor, Merv Griffin, and Eddie Albert.
Thank you so much for making this video! I'm on a Green Acres kick watching the episodes on the Roku channel (July 2022). It started out as a suggestion from my Dad to watch this show when he visits and he picks dinner up to bring over and we sit and watch TV. The other one we have watched some of is Topper and I have seen a couple episodes of Petticoat Junction he suggested but I wanted to finish this first. I know I had seen Green Acres when I was younger a little here and there but I was too young to fully appreciate it as a little kid. I hope they keep this show on there forever!!! It's impossible for me to watch and be in a bad mood and the theme song is stuck in my head which is fine by me. I've been laid up and it's the perfect show. I wasn't old enough to exist when it came on weekly the first time around. I'm a 70s child. I'm on Season 3. Eva was the epitome of elegance, along with that generation of starlets and the generation before them, not like the celebrities and the culture we have today. Everyone on the show just played their part so wonderfully and they were so engaging that it feels like an escape with familiar friends. I don't normally watch television and I don't have cable for that reason, but I love this show!! This was back when television was creative and wholesome and actually worth watching, in my opinion. This is going to have me exploring the other shows you mentioned like Petticoat Junction some more. Thanks again and please keep the videos coming! This is the first I've seen of yours and I've subscribed. I am definitely going to watch your other ones. I love to travel and I can't right now and these things fascinate me, learning straight from someone who is "on the ground" who is actually there. I saw Star Wars at the Mann Chinese Theater in Hollywood! This was the only film that I remember, was shown for 24 hours. I did see the first Rocky movie at the Arco Theater! Since I went to Junior High School just down the street! Westwood Village was my childhood hang out, from video game arcade and movies! Thanks for sharing!

Loved the story about your first car and when you saw Star Wars. My first car was also a 64 Ford Fairlane. She was blue and I named her Liz. My Dad had a 68 Chevy van. He was red and white. I named him Richard. As for Star Wars, our son was 4 at the time (he was also born on May 4). I believe we saw the movie at the Kokomo Mall theater. We loved the movie and our son collected all the merch he could until he was in his 20s. He still has quite a bit of his collection.
@@TheGraveyardChannel ... I know everbody has to go some time, but that doesn't stop us from missing them. I sure do miss them. I live in Nashville and there are a couple of cemeteries where some of the famous country singers have been interred. Such as Jerry Reed, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Eddie Arnold, Johnny Paycheck and others. I've been to one of the cemeteries called The Woodlawn cemetery. The other has Keith Whitley that I know of. Steve, maybe one day you can come to Nashville and show some of your reports.

I remember when Star Wars come out , But I never had interest . I remember them advertising it on the radio in our school bus riding to school 👍🏻 we had a cool bus driver. Our bus was the only bus that had a radio . But it was a long bus ride to school & back home. Thank You Steve for sharing.
Loved Green Acres, Steve. I visited Eva Gabor’s and Eddie Albert’s final resting places when I was in LA in 2016. This cemetery is awesome. It one of my favourites. I will be visiting this cemetery again.

And no, it's not uncommon to remember where you saw your most memorable movies. I have a very good memory, in that regard.

Yes, I’ll always remember Green Acres. But when I think of Eddie Albert, I also remember that he was awarded the bronze star in World War 2 for rescuing 47 Marines. A talented man and a very humble hero.
Going from memory, Eddie and Margo Albert also had a daughter, Maria. (In the Virginia county where I'm from, we also had county agents much like Hank Kimball.) Still enjoy Green Acres for its simplicity & its humor.

I am getting up there in years, so I just can't remember where I saw Star Wars. I know I saw it, but can't remember it. I remember two other movies tho, where I went to different places to see them. One was James Bond movie "Doctor No", when that one came out I was too young to get in, but went with my mom and dad to see it so I got in with them. The other one was "Close encounters Of The Third Kind" (1977) I went with my dad to see that one. It was such a great experience to see that movie. I was still very young then. Now I am old. I don't go to cinemas anymore. I think my last movie I saw in a cinema was the Johnny Depp movie "From Hell", but I can't be sure. Thanks again Steve.

My wife and I are currently watching the Green Acres episodes. Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor definitely made a great team, complimenting one another. The show is very funny and clean humor.😊

I love me tv they often bring back shows I was too young to remember.this way I get to see them again and remember a time when tv was wholesome and the whole family could watch.i appreciate watching for the first time or getting to see the ones I never got to see..its good to see where they are buried. What happened to Arnold the pig. That pig was very smart.made me laugh..there's not one actor or actress I didn't like. I loved them all.thanks for a mother good vlog. I have no problem rewatching a video I've seen before. I always find more info I missed the first time.its mostly the reruns I saw but that's ok.they were good shows.so when another vlog pop up even if I have watched it before I dont mind re watching it again. Your demeanor and respect for the final resting place of the many Hollywood artists is extremely appreciated and exceptional. Many years ago Edward Albert was a client and neighbor of mine and someone who became a friend. I met his parents several times and have one precious memory of having tea with Margo while looking through the family's photo albums. She was an amazing woman. So, again thank you for being so kind in your vlogs...to me and many others the people you highlight are people we love dearly. And coincidentally, I remember seeing Star Wars at the very same theater. It was an enormous line but definitely worth the wait. Love to meet you in person sometime.

There were several crossover episodes where the characters from the Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres and Petticoat Junction
visited with each other down there at Hooterville. Granny had a big crush on Mr. Drucker. There was a big holiday dinner at the Shady Rest
in one episode. I always thought it would have been fun for Jethroe to take a long look at Kate, then look at the camera and say " Nahhh ".

Great stuff as usual, Steve. I think one of Eddie Albert's greatest film roles, which may have earned him an Oscar nomination/award was as the shell shocked crazy colonel in the film "Captain Newman, MD", which had a star studded cast. The lead was played by Gregory Peck, along with Angie Dickinson, Nick Adams, Robert Duval and Lee Remick. What a terrific film, which most have probably never even heard of.

When I was a kid, I enjoyed Switch. It was a detective show Eddie Albert did with Robert Wagner. He was an ex cop, Wagner was an ex con. They started a detective agency.
I always watch Greenacres growing up it was one of my favorites Mr. Haney was a hoot!!!! My dad bought a brand new 1967 Ford galaxy it was red four-door it was really sharp!!! Have a very blessed day and thank you again for everything I love watching your videos !!❤️

I was 19 years old when Star Wars came out in 1977. I waited in line at the Old National Four in College Park, Georgia to see the first showing. I ended up going back to watch two more times. We had NEVER seen anything like it before.

Back in 1977, my friends, and sister in law went to Gateway Theater to see Star Wars. The line wrapped around the theater, and onto the parking lot. The owner of Gateway Theater decided to show The Star War movie's in all six movie theaters to reduce the lines...amazingly it worked, no fights broke out...and everybody went home with all smiles.
You aren't alone. I, too, recall the theaters in which I have viewed memorable movies. Good narration work! Your anecdotes are spot on with just what I would want to know. I decided to subscribe after having watched a only a few of you videos.
I've often thought that it would be fun to visit gravesites of famous people or gravestones with unusual names and practice the hobby of Gravestone Rubbing. I think that would be a nice collection in an oversized notebook. Crazy, I know! Have you ever done that with any of the gravesites you've visited?
i've heard that it's pretty popular back east where cemeteries are much older and it's often difficult to read the inscriptions. everything is pretty new here in california, so real need to. i think it's great to preserve the past that way, though. thanks for watching and subscribing, david. i appreciate it!
I hadn't thought of that, but that would be interesting thing to do with relatives graves old and new, friends who have passed, maybe keep a separate ones for celebrities. The reason it might be helpful is preservation of family graves. Even looking at them after 10 years passing they may start to show little signs of wear. After 30 years they show a bit more and 60 or more years the wear can start to become very noticeable. Plus, I'm not sure if this is a good or a bad thing, but the energy that comes off those things might be a little interesting, so maybe that's not such a good idea to bring that all back from the grave, especially if there will be a whole book of them, lol.
Green Acres is the place to be!!! I watched each show and still watch the reruns when I see the listing on t.v. and it's a shame that there is not more clean t.v. shows today, like the good ole days.
I'm looking forward to another great video and seeing all famous graves from our beloved actors and learning about their lives.

Hey buddy, not a problem with the date of you arriving in Tulsa and like I told you before, I am really flexible and still opened to when you arrive on the day of arrival, I have kept my calendar clear the 1st and 2nd week of June. I have been to Branson so many times over the years and seen so many changes over the years, it's amazing. I can remember the 1st time I went to Branson in the late 1970's it was still fairly small and somewhere packed away, I have the group picture of the cave there.
My mother just said "Good Morning Young Man" to you! My mother also stated that you have a great trip and enjoy your Grandson's graduation and be safe on the road. Chat with you later!

His son was his caregiver, as Eddie Albert suffered from Alzheimer's in his later years. Edward Albert was diagnosed with lung cancer before his dad died. Did you know that Earth Day is observed on April 22nd, Eddie Albert's birthday? He was a co-founder, and a staunch environmentalist.

I was there in October of 2015. It was the highlight of my visit there. In 1996, I made a vow that I was going to visit Eva Gabor's grave on my next visit to Los Angeles. And I did. I kept that vow! I also saw Eddie Albert's, Merv Griffin's, and a few other celebrities' graves as well. As the Number One Green Acres fan in the entire country, I wanted to pay my respects to Eva Gabor, Merv Griffin, and Eddie Albert.

Thank you so much for making this video! I'm on a Green Acres kick watching the episodes on the Roku channel (July 2022). It started out as a suggestion from my Dad to watch this show when he visits and he picks dinner up to bring over and we sit and watch TV. The other one we have watched some of is Topper and I have seen a couple episodes of Petticoat Junction he suggested but I wanted to finish this first. I know I had seen Green Acres when I was younger a little here and there but I was too young to fully appreciate it as a little kid. I hope they keep this show on there forever!!! It's impossible for me to watch and be in a bad mood and the theme song is stuck in my head which is fine by me. I've been laid up and it's the perfect show. I wasn't old enough to exist when it came on weekly the first time around. I'm a 70s child. I'm on Season 3.
Eva was the epitome of elegance, along with that generation of starlets and the generation before them, not like the celebrities and the culture we have today. Everyone on the show just played their part so wonderfully and they were so engaging that it feels like an escape with familiar friends. I don't normally watch television and I don't have cable for that reason, but I love this show!! This was back when television was creative and wholesome and actually worth watching, in my opinion. This is going to have me exploring the other shows you mentioned like Petticoat Junction some more.

I saw Star Wars at the Mann Chinese Theater in Hollywood! This was the only film that I remember, was shown for 24 hours. I did see the first Rocky movie at the Arco Theater! Since I went to Junior High School just down the street! Westwood Village was my childhood hang out, from video game arcade and movies! Thanks for sharing!

Steve, just had to enjoy a rerun "on demand", as Green Acres is still my place to be. A fave, along w/ The Addams Family, both of which feature zany comedy in the most entertaining of ways. Next I'll head back to your tour of resting sites of Carolyn Jones, etc. Thank you for your historic visits. Has anyone mentioned Eddie Albert was a decorated WWII combat pilot who fought in a raging 3-day battle? He was very modest & humble about his contributions to our country. He loved to both to serve the US and be a bright spot in our lives. Thank you for your historic visits & accounts of celeb lives!

Loved the story about your first car and when you saw Star Wars. My first car was also a 64 Ford Fairlane. She was blue and I named her Liz. My Dad had a 68 Chevy van. He was red and white. I named him Richard.
As for Star Wars, our son was 4 at the time (he was also born on May 4). I believe we saw the movie at the Kokomo Mall theater. We loved the movie and our son collected all the merch he could until he was in his 20s. He still has quite a bit of his collection.
Eddie Albert and Lucille Ball in "The Fuller Brush Girl" was absolutely hysterical.

I live in Nashville and there are a couple of cemeteries where some of the famous country singers have been interred. Such as Jerry Reed, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Eddie Arnold, Johnny Paycheck and others. I've been to one of the cemeteries called The Woodlawn cemetery. The other has Keith Whitley that I know of.

I remember when Star Wars come out , But I never had interest . I remember them advertising it on the radio in our school bus riding to school 👍🏻 we had a cool bus driver. Our bus was the only bus that had a radio . But it was a long bus ride to school & back home. Thank You Steve for sharing.

The On The Buses tv series and movies were hugely popular here in Australia during the 70s but I had no idea there was a US version , thanks Steve I've learnt something new today

Yes, I’ll always remember Green Acres. But when I think of Eddie Albert, I also remember that he was awarded the bronze star in World War 2 for rescuing 47 Marines. A talented man and a very humble hero.
Going from memory, Eddie and Margo Albert also had a daughter, Maria. (In the Virginia county where I'm from, we also had county agents much like Hank Kimball.) Still enjoy Green Acres for its simplicity & its humor.

I am getting up there in years, so I just can't remember where I saw Star Wars. I know I saw it, but can't remember it. I remember two other movies tho, where I went to different places to see them. One was James Bond movie "Doctor No", when that one came out I was too young to get in, but went with my mom and dad to see it so I got in with them. The other one was "Close encounters Of The Third Kind" (1977) I went with my dad to see that one. It was such a great experience to see that movie. I was still very young then. Now I am old. I don't go to cinemas anymore. I think my last movie I saw in a cinema was the Johnny Depp movie "From Hell", but I can't be sure. Thanks again Steve.
