    What a special actor Alvy Moore was. All the characters that starred in GREEN ACRES were truly wonderful. Has to be the greatest sitcom ever created !!

    He was my favorite on Green Acres, but I really loved ALL the characters. I loved that show, but 'Mr. Kimbke' always made me laugh. There's never another Alvy/Hank....never will be. Great guy...he's missed.

    Thank you so much for giving the career history of Alvy! I met him in 1994, about 4 days after the Jan. 17, 1994 Northridge earthquake at Dick Glouner's home in North Hills. I told Alvy that he played my favorite character on Green Acres. I presume that you knew the Glouner's, because Dick told me that he had been a longtime family friend. I didn't know that Alvy lived in Northridge. I lived there as well, for many years in Porter Ranch. Thanks so much for the tribute, and the lesser known background history of such a fine man!

    Beautifully done, sir. I loved his character on, "Green Acres" as he was so offbeat and we all know some befuddled folks lime his character, but he was always a treat to watch! You did him honor and I miss that entire cast of characters. That show can never be duplicated in quality or good humor. I miss them all, but Alvy especially!

    Mr. Kimball has always been my favorite character on Green Acres. Alvy played the part brilliantly. I loved when he would drive Mr. Douglas crazy, which wasn't that hard for him to do, lol! I've uploaded many of my favorite Hank Kimball clips on my channel.

    I never saw this performer in anything other than Green Acres, but I really must say he was fabulous in that show. It actually pains me to see that he NEVER won an Emmy for that role. What he did was super difficult--try it if you think it isn't.

    I thought the entire cast of green acres was great. A lot of people would say it was dumb. They missed the point. I always thought this show was,at times existential genius. I know that's a strong statement but I stand by it.

    PS: Thanks for plugging the episodes available on Amazon. They are definitely worth the $19.99 per season, with clear prints and good audio. The only thing I dislike is that the end credits are cut off. Not a big deal, but the show featured so many character players--the kind you know by face, if not name--and I'd like to see what their names were. 😉

    The first couple of episodes of Green Acres, Hank Kimball was actually a straight lace character. He was okay then but got better turning him into a bumbling character. Well not bumbling or forgetful. Well maybe forgetful. Well maybe but....what were we talking about? The bing bug?
    What a great tribute to a fine man and great actor. Thank you for this.

    I grew up in the San Fernando Valley in the late 60’s watching Green Acres. I also have met and worked with many celebrities though out my life. I was able to meet Alvy Moore in the 80’s while I was working as a plumber before I went to school to study production and post-production. Also met his son in law I think, has long hair and he is an actor too. Plays biker parts, like on Tool Time. I forget his name. Ran in to him in Lancaster ca In the 90’s while he was filming a movie. Told me Alvy had passed. Alvy was a lot fun to hang out with and being a fan of the character Hank Kimball, I wish I knew Earlier he lived down the street from me on Amestoy The whole time.

    • @randguy
      @randguy  Před 3 lety +1

      You never know who lives down the street. I was talking to a neighbor one day and learned he and his twin brother played little Ricky on I Love Lucy. You're thinking of actor Mickey Jones who started his career as drummer with Kenny Rogers and the First Edition. He was a dear friend of Alvy's and did his eulogy at his funeral.

    • @rameyvision
      @rameyvision Před 3 lety

      Yes, that’s him. Alvy and Mickey were really nice. I remember a long hallway down the middle of Alvy’s house where he took the time to show me his pictures. Thanks for making the video and sharing. Hope to see more in the future.
