Hollywood Forever Cemetery is a full-service cemetery, funeral home, crematory, and cultural events center which regularly hosts community events such as live music and summer movie screenings. It is one of the oldest cemeteries in Los Angeles, California and is located at 6000 Santa Monica Boulevard in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Hollywood. It was founded in 1899 as Hollywood Cemetery, and, from 1939, was known as Hollywood Memorial Park until 1998 when it was given its current name. The studios of Paramount Pictures are located at the south end of the same block, on 40 acres (16 ha) that were once part of the cemetery and held no interments.
Individuals interred in the cemetery include many prominent people from the entertainment industry, as well as people who played vital roles in shaping Los Angeles.
Hollywood's only cemetery, Hollywood Forever was founded in 1899 on 100 acres (40 ha) and called "Hollywood Cemetery" by F. W. Samuelson and (first name unknown) Lombard. In 1897, the two men were the owners of a 60 acres (24 ha) tract of land near Hollywood in Los Angeles County. In that year, they-along with Mrs. M. W. Gardner of Santa Monica, Joseph D. Rodford, Gilbert Smith, and Thomas R. Wallace-formed a corporation known as the "Hollywood Cemetery Association. The cemetery sold large tracts to Paramount Pictures, which, with RKO Pictures, bought 40 acres (16 ha) by 1920. Part of the remaining land was set aside for the Beth Olam Cemetery, a dedicated Jewish burial ground for members of the local Jewish community.
Since 2002, the cemetery has screened films on weekends during the summer and on holidays at a gathering called Cinespia. The screenings are held on the Douglas Fairbanks Lawn and the films are projected onto the white marble west wall of the Cathedral Mausoleum. Music events take place in the cemetery as well. On June 14 and 15, 2011, The Flaming Lips played at the cemetery in a two-night gig billed "Everyone You Know Someday Will Die", a lyric from their 2002 single "Do You Realize??".

The saddest thing to me about baby graves is after the parents are gone, rarely does anyone go to see them. And sometimes it's too painful for some parents to go back after burial. They were loved & adored but sadly are forgotten after their beloved parents leave this world. I usually hope that they have siblings that at least think of them sometimes. One of my good friends lost her son Daniel at one day old from a heart problem. The whole family visits him, leave food & presents & take family photos at the grave site (it's a cultural thing for them. Be nice). I don't think I've ever seen a child so well loved & missed. Daniel would have been 13 this year.

Scott, I lived right there across the street on Virginia Ave. We always went to the outside movies at Hollywood Forever. I find that cemetery more beautiful than all the others in Los Angeles. I'd walk through there many nights after work for exercise and on weekends especially. Simply a breathtaking journey. The cats have been there for years, even back in the early 2000s . They'd follow me on my walks through the cemetery. You're not to feed them, however I always had a pocket full of cat treats I'd toss to them. That area with the child's graves is known to me as the Limbo area. Limbo is the area where children stay, it is said that God places their souls into other newborn children in order to live their lives again because they were taken to soon. I always cried when I walked past the Limbo area at Hollywood Forever.

I live in South Florida, went back to Los Angeles about 4 years ago. I spent about half the day in Hollywood Forever by myself. I could not believe the beauty of the place. A lot of people think that is weird but I don't. It was like a preview of Heaven. All those beautiful souls, and all the wonderful living beings such as peacocks and kitties and ducks etc etc. I found it incredibly peaceful and not at all depressing. I would be honored to have a kitty lay across my grave marker. Maybe I am weird lol. Nicely done Scott.

I’m not sure if anyone else’s mind went to ancient Egypt? They sometimes find mummified babies and the archeologists get very emotional about this, even after thousands of years have passed, which is so moving and inspiring. ❤ To have something so special at a modern cemetery, Hollywood Forever, where all the babies are together? It’s incredibly compassionate and makes me feel really good about people’s foresight. Wow. I’m really proud and moved to see this! Cats are brilliant with the bereaved too. I hope one day to be able to get him a headstone.
My great-great grandfather, Edward "Eddie" Phillips, is also interred there in the Court of the Apostles.

I love those etched stones. They are my favorites. Just brings the people buried there to life. A picture is worth a thousand words as they say. The dachshund grave really touched my heart because my best friend and favorite pet was a dachshund. I'd give anything to have him back again. There are so many beautiful graves in this cemetery. I wish I could walk through there in person. Baby land is always so heartbreaking. I don't think I like the way they have this section hidden away and I don't understand why either. When I go to cemeteries I always look for baby land. I always feel so sad for these little ones who never got the chance to grow up. But I have this beautiful collectors plate at home. It's a picture of a smiling Jesus sitting down with all of these children of different ages sitting around him and the youngest ones on his lap. They are also smiling with the happiest of faces. So I always like to imagine that's the way it really is and that makes me feel somewhat better. Beautiful video Scott, thank you. RIP to all and especially the little innocent ones ❤ 💐

I hope someday to dedicate a full day to go visit this cemetery. Im glad they have a section for the innocents, the children's memorials. Im glad Halyna is buried there. I honestly dont think Alec meant for it to happen, I hope he and his family are ok. I also really like that they actually take care of the sweet cats there. 🐾 Thanks Scott for another awesome video❤

OMG @5:45..more little babies. As a leather clad, Blondie bombshell Transgurl who studies witchcraft...I walk around at night at times (not really safe in my horrible little city Philtadelphia, on my travels I try to have a few cans of cat food for the stray kitties....being abandoned by so many friends coming out as myvTransgurl self.....I see myself in those stray kitties, so I try and be there for them. ❤ FY so much for filming them...I needed a smile. Travel safe Scott

My parents share a grave in Section 64 at Arlington National Cemetery, For many years after my father passed (1989), there were few graves in that part of the cemetery. There has always one been one immediately to the left. "Sean", a child who was apparently stillborn as there's only one date listed. And, that he was the son of a U.S. Army second lieutenant and his wife. The only times I've seen any decorations on "Sean's" grave has been on Memorial Day (A Flag) and at Christmas (Wreathes Across America) I've not left any flowers lest I intrude. Been to Hollywood Forever several times. This is perhaps your best video yet.
