GENE WATSON TURNED 70 YEARS OLD OCT. 11th 2013. HE DROPPED OUT OF SCHOOL IN THE 9th GRADE, BUT HE IS IN MY OPINION THE BEST COUNTRY SINGER THERE IS TODAY. WHY HE HAS NEVER BEEN INDUCTED INTO THE COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME IS BEYOND ME, THEY JUST DON'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS. AT HIS AGE HE HAS THE BEST VOICE OF ANY SINGER IN COUNTRY MUSIC, WE LOVE YOU GENE, AND KEEP ON SINGING FOR US!

Hear him in Brady TX 2 weeks ago. 78 years old now and he still sings this with all the emotion he has.
He's fabulous and sings with such dedication and heart. I'm going to see him Saturday night in Seymour, IN. So excited.

He should be inducted into the Hall of Fame because he can sing country that you will never ever find in today's country music. He is awesome and his voice can make you just listen to his words. I would have like to have seen him in person, just sitting around like these folks just to hear him sing.
Just go to his show he is the v ery best. I seen him 5 times and well again when he is close by.

FINALLY!! He's a member!! Wow it's unreal how good he sings!! I love all his songs!! Love in the hot afternoon is a great one + so many more..Gene Watson, T.Graham Brown, Earl Thomas Conley etc. are other best to be over-looked!!
Yes he's one of the great ones he should be inducted into the Hall of Fame and should have done it before he passed away he can sing anything and make you just feel you're right there with him ❤️

Merle Haggard has always been my all-time favorite country male singer, song writer, etc. AT THE SAME TIME, THERE ARE AT LEASTTWO MALE SINGERS THAT i WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO SING LIKE THEM. Gene Watson is one, and Vern Gosdin is the other.
I went to his concert about 10 years ago. Im 31 and grew up on old country music thanks my loving grandma. His voice live is beyond words. Like your can feel it in your heart

Gene Watson is the most talented singer in country music and he's still going on with his shows because of all his fans they did'nt want him to quit and he did'nt I was lucky enough to see him just last year but wow! he sounds better in person than on his cd's he is 1 of the most unrecognized country singers today when a man can sing songs like that he should be #1 instead of these young girls singing songs about what boyfriend they have broken up with THIS is pure country I love it.

I saw him twice in the early 80’s and he put on a terrific show each time, even though he was booked in shady clubs. I thought he was better suited for the Optu stage and should have been there.

Just about every Saturday night. Anyhow, "Farewell party" is The first song,"Farewell party", started it all for me!!
