A friend of mine agreed with Carlin's sliced bread bit until someone got him a loaf of uncut bread. He said that after dealing with cutting every slice he understood what a great invention sliced bread was. Carlin was the absolute best.

He was the master. I got to meet him back in the late 90's in Orlando. He was having dinner and I knew a waiter there and I did what I swore I'd never do,,,and chastised others for doing,,,,,and asked the waiter to introduce me. It was awesome. He invited me to sit with him and the woman he was with. He had the waiter get me a glass of wine. I was just starting out as a magician and he gave me a 15 minute tutorial on routining and practicing. He told me it could take him a year to do a routine. Every mannerism, inflection, eyebrow raise,,,,,everything,,,rehearsed. He was a master. I never did ask him for an autograph,,,,lol.
