@@KamiAnimeS1 indeed
@@ahmadmohammed4212 I will be very interested to how ghostbusters and Godzilla do when they enter the market place both will no doubt by be boosted by the upcoming Easter break could they cannibalize one and other . Either way for time in a while theaters owners will be happy
I work at a large movie theater (Top 5 Regals in the country) and I almost forgot what a busy weekend felt like until this weekend.
Dune would’ve made a billion dollars if the idiots had released it in the summer.
And by idiots I mean execs, not Villeneuve. Unless March 1st was his call.
Dune is holding up only because there is nothing in theaters. The film is boring, and the leading actors are the ugly and mediocre children of producers.
Dune 2 is doing fantastic it’s very surprising. I can’t wait to see it again for a third time Tuesday and kung fu panda 4 for the first time
The success of five nights at Freddy’s still boggles the mind but each to their own I guess
Good for Kung Fu Panda 4, I hope it can stay strong.
Saw dune in imax the other day. One of the best movie experiences in my life. Will definitely see it again in theaters.
I can’t believe there’s now 4 of these Kung Fu Panda movies oh well hope everything goes well with your awards show tonight wish I made it but unfortunately have to get up real early for work
A lot of people are comparing Dune 2 with Oppenheimer. Based on what exactly??? Oppenheimer attracted Nolan fans and history buffs in the middle of summer break. Dune is attracting Dune fans (the books) and Timothee-Zendaya fans in the middle of spring semester. Where are the parallels?
watch the video
@@OMBReviews I did watch the video. I wrote my comment after finishing the video. I know you said it wasn't a direct parallel, but you're not the only one making the comparison.
I think the comparison is just because they’re both two really high quality blockbusters by two really high quality directors coming out around a year after each other. We’re pretty starved for this kind of thing.
Then you know there’s only about 9% difference globally at the same point of release
@@OMBReviews Great. If a romcom makes the same amount of money as a horror, I would still be equally confused by the comparison. That's just me personally. No knock on anyone else. All respect.
44 drop for dune is fantastic! i was expecting mid 60s! if you compare the-numbers for dune and Oppenheimer dune is only slightly below - 5% less? the-numbers shows 0 for china for dune so im not sure its buffing its numbers yet...
I try been trying to gouge the international numbers for Dune 2 but almost all of them haven't been updated since the opening on Mojo.
But if Deadline speaks the truth for once the drop internationally will be 24%.
do we think that the dune 2 bo is suppressed a bit because people are waiting for imax screens? hopefully because i need them to give all the resources to DUN3. because family.
Reckon Panda will drop off and Dune will re-take no 1, Dune is fantastic in Imax certainly and can see it doing well with multiple watches and general word of mouth
I went and saw the indie film Accidental Texan this weekend. I enjoyed the film. Has Thomas Haden Church, Carrie-Anne Moss and Bruce Dern in it. It's about a young actor who gets lost in a west Texas small town and ends up helping a roughneck who's trying to strike oil before getting his equipment foreclosed. I like supporting indie films at the theater and this was one that I enjoyed and glad I went and saw it in the theater
Raven's Are Here!
How the time flies.
I wish I could see both Dune films in IMAX back to back. That would be a good day.
I'll see you tonight at the Raven Award and we bring some Ice Crreeaam!
Updated estimates 58m for panda 46m for dune
watch the video
@@OMBReviews I did sorry i started watching and wrote the response then my daughter ran off with my tablet just finished watching the video excellent analysis as always you and dan murrell are really the best around on CZcams for this kind of stuff.
So far Dune: Part Two has been doing double what the first Dune movie did. Since Dune made around $435 million globally doubling that would be $870 million. That's probably high, but I don't think $800 million for Dune 2 is too far fetched.
my kids loved jack black is awesome
great thing about kp4. awkwafina is in it, but she doesn't rap.
LoL in the 70s there were mulitlple nature gone wild horror flicks Spiders (bill Shatter) Ants, Rats (ben 1+2) Snakes, Prianha etc.... so out of control toys lol.
Alright , so , According to the Hollywood reporter , Dune part 2 needs to reach between $500 million - $700 million at the box office in order to break even against production budget of $190 and it’s slated to hit theaters in Japan this Friday
I think Dune Part 2 will leg out, its china opening is around 20 milion and I don't see it getting much more beyond 50 milion total there.
In terms of the other movies like Kung Fu Panda 4 and Ghostbusters, those look like better performing movies at the domestic box office.
While Godzilla×Kong will probably do better internationally than domestic as these movies tend to usually do.
I never read the book 📕 and probably never do , I saw first part on blue Ray and it was just ok 👍, but yesterday went to cinema 🎦 to see Dune II my friend and the only thing I can say is this was the most spectacular movie 🍿 experience never fill on my hole entire life ❤ , this movie is beyond your imagination, I am 46 love sci-fi movies 🍿 like Star Wars original trilogy , but I can make my statement here this movie 🍿 has change cinema as same did Star Wars or Goodfather I & II, do you a big favour and don’t miss the historical opportunity you have to see this movie 🍿 on an IMAX Theater you want regretted , take my words as Bible 😅

I don't care about panda
A 44% drop is not a strong hold. It's right in the middle between good and awful. Given that it needs to make at least $600,000,0000 to break even, it's a dud.
This is factually inaccurate. Watch the video
44% drop is a very small drop vs most movies, espsecially for something not in summer time
The drop for other blockbusters are often higher on the second weekend and there is japan left to release on Friday...
Edit :actually there are a few countries left, release date 1.March and Korea still doesn't have a date....
i dont get the love for Dune
It’s a solid movie. I have my issues but it is solid
It's ok, not everyone gets cinema.
@@benhmn i get good movies and dune sucked
lets go Ravens!
