I'd buy the Ford if only because of the more comfortable seats. The lighter interior as well especially for the summer. They are just harder to keep clean.

JB...Good review. Actually, we are looking at the off road Timberline and Z71 version of both of what you tested. We liked them both. I agree on the styling hands down on the GM for the win but everything else we preferred the Ford Timberline. I also noticed if you check the option box there is a higher output v6 turbo with more power and torque which I believe was powering your tester?? What I did notice that drastically improved traction but more so handling was "Control-Trac with Electronic limited slip differential" A 1500.00 option. JB check to see if that was on your tester. Keep up the great reviews, we look forward to them.

The Platinum trim level on the Expedition comes with 440 HP and 510 ft/lbs of torque. I bought a new Expedition in January and love it. It takes a while to get used to all of the controls accessed through a touch screen...it's a bit harder to use than buttons. The steering response is great, but the feel is vague..just like you said. My only gripe is that Ford does not offer a HUD. I had it on my Yukon Denali and my wife's Palisade Calligraphy has it, so I've gotten used to having it.

I bought a brand new 2022 Suburban with the 3L diesel engine, and I'm quite pleased with its excellent fuel consumption. However, during a car show in Vancouver this spring of 2024, I was surprised to discover that the third-row seats they recline, a feature that doesn't exist in the Chevy model. Additionally, I noticed that the diesel engine is louder at high revs compared to the Expedition. Overall, I find the seating comfort better in the Ford, especially with the presence of headrests in the last row compared to the Chevy. I also prefer the lower nose and overall appearance of the Ford. However, I must admit that the quality of the 360-degree camera view is superior in the Chevy compared to the Ford, although this is something I can overlook.
I'm also considering the 2022 facelift on the Ford for the nicer headlights and dashboard screen, despite knowing that it will increase my fuel consumption by 30%. However, as this is for a transportation business, providing the best comfort for my clients is my priority. While some may opt for the Escalade or Lincoln for a 40% higher cost, I find that the extra expense for the badge alone isn't justified based on my clientele's charges.
Therefore, I'm seeking an honest opinion from you all-should I keep my Suburban for a few more years or switch to the Expedition Max?
    Thank you

I would never make a purchase based off of the information someone gives me in a video. The most important thing for me is comfort so before I ever make a purchase I will have sat in many vehicles many many times and calculate how quickly it takes me in each vehicle to achieve my comfort position behind the steering wheel. Everything else is secondary to that. I did have the F-150 diesel and I got upwards of 26 miles per gallon and I loved it but with diesel a lot of times being twice the price of normal gas it's not worth getting just a couple extra miles per gallon not to mention the maintenance and additional fluids you need in the vehicle

Very Helpful review. I would like your opinion on the ride and handling comfort too. We are shopping and comparing between the Expedition Max and the Suburban. We currently Own a 2012 Expedition EL XLT 4x4 with 160K, and owned several Chevy suburbans in the late 90's and early 2000's that all lasted over 200K. We agree with you that the lighter interior options in the Ford are fantastic. We also found the Ford Seats are much wider and more comfortable, my wife who is fairly petite complains that the chevy seats dig into her hips where the ford does not (ford seats are considerably wider and softer) Interestingly the passenger front seat in the chevy is narrower than the driver seat. This is a big miss on Chevy's part IMHO, and ultimately the buying decision could come down to this for us. I rented 2023 models of both for several days. We found the Ford to be significantly louder at highway speeds, I measured 85dB average over 400 miles. It was so loud, my wife and I had a difficult time having a conversation. Of course this changes with different road surfaces, We tested on I-75 to I-95 from Tampa - Miami and back which generally has course road surfaces. The Suburban was noticeably quieter, I measured 81db average over the same route. I also noticed that the Ford will bounce a little more and bump recovery was not as precise as the chevy. The Expedition feels "light" and maybe more nimble, where as the to Me, the Suburban feels heavier and built more solid. Over-all I prefer Chevy for ride quality and handling, controls are easier and more intuitive, I find the steering wheel more comfortable with better button layout, where the Ford button layout is busy and has "sharper" uncomfortable edges while turning with a finger against them. The room behind the 3rd row is much larger in the Chevy too. I see a lot of Suburbans with over 200K miles on the market, and only a few Expeditions with over 150K, which makes me wonder if the turbo engine is less reliable than the V8? For me I am leaning over-all toward the chevy, but it is coming down to seat comfort for my wife. Do I attempt to add insulation to make the Ford Quieter, or do I attempt to modify the passenger seat to make it more comfortable??? It is a tough choice because both are excellent vehicles. What would you do???

if you are looking for big and roomy the tahoe interior cargo volume is unmatched and the 3rd row seat on the tahoe can seat a full size adult comfortably.. in other words the 3rd row is actually useable and not just for kids lol and although the expedition has a more powerful and fun engine.. those twin turbos are a ticking time bomb.. and that has nothing to do with ford turbos just go bad no matter what its just a matter of time and you can't just swap them out and you are tlaking thousands to pay for new ones and get it done.. so in other words the tahoe is more diy frienly for people that like to work on their own cars like myself.. the only reason i'm waiting to get a tahoe is in hopes the price will drop and the infotainment screen will be raised to 12 inches like alot of other new cars..

Been shopping these two. Honestly prefer the GMC over the Chevy. Either way the GM’s are essentially the same vehicle. Ford is ugly in my opinion and no Ford dealers around us want to negotiate. MSRP is a deal on a Ford. However I would challenge you to double check your info on cylinder deactivation or dynamic fuel management. Both the 5.3 and the 6.2 are listed as having that on the website. Personally I’m hoping your correct but can you confirm. I just double checked and they are listed. Thanks for all the vids. Keep them coming
