- Among giant SUVs, the Ford Expedition is now the oldest next to the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Yukon twins, and the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though... The Expedition still gets the formula right, and Ford is able to bestow upon it all the goodness of the Ford F-150. With a new Ford Expedition on the horizon, does the current Ford Expedition still hold up compared to its larger competition? And how does Mrs. JAX feel about the Expedition after having driven a number of competitive SUVs since we last had the King Ranch trim Ford Expedition (which remains one of her favorite press vehicles of all time)? I want a Ford Expedition, a XLT will be my choice. Don’t really care about the Limited or The platinum. 🚙 still a sexy SUV/truck. I love how the new Expedition is more bulky and big.

Lazy bro... You made a video about the 2023 XLT and continuously showed pictures of the pre refresh King Ranch.
I’m glad you explained that since you probably make weekly videos to post on social media and are well versed in video production and editing.

Your interior pictures are from a king ranch model, not XLT. It lacks V8. I take a Tahoe instead easy over this.
True, but that’s why I labeled them as such. And to be honest, the KR really just covers a few surfaces in cool leather and logos. It’s not worth the price in my opinion. I’d save the cash and get the XLT personally. Well, personally I’d get the Tahoe because I prefer the handling 😉👍🏻

The Chevy equivalent to the XLT is the LT not the Z71. The Ford Timberline is equivalent to the Z71.
And Mrs Jax obviously isn't very particular about looks. Ha ha ha!
Haha! This is true. And you’re right: the Timberline and Z71 are more direct competitors, especially since the XLT 4wd costs about $5k less. But for a lot of people, it would be worth the savings to take the “regular” 4wd on the XLT trim. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
XLT has vinyl seats , cheap. Tahoe LT comes with leather. Tahoe destroys this junk in marketplace.
I would push back on this from the standpoint that the XLT’s interior did not feel appreciably cheaper than the Tahoe Z71 we had, and that Tahoe was significantly more expensive. (It’s not like GM leather is top notch or something, and I say that as someone who owns a Suburban.)
