Looks great Matt! Thanks for sharing. 😎🇨🇦😊
Nice look at the Green Stuff World. I’ve waiting to see a video on this stuff. I’m really glad you brought us along on this test of the product. It looks really nice. I have been wanting to get some of the brushable chrome, and try it out. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent buddy! Thanks! Yours turned out great!
Looks really good Matt!!! Thanks for doing a demo on this chrome paint.
Looks pretty good. FYI. Those Chevy of that vintage, the ribbed surface panels beside the license plate are made of aluminum and thus not as shiny as the bumper itself. In the 1970s I had a neighbor down the street who had a couple of them. One was completely stock and pristine, the other was a hotrod. Both had 409 engines and his house number was "409". I lived at 1070. His hotrod Chevy had those aluminum panels gold anodized. Looked really sharp and unique.
I was going to point out the same thing. Plate area inserts along with the grill and headlight surrounds are all aluminum and have a notably different tone from the bumpers.
Hey, if you're happy with it, that's what counts. I have Alclad. I've done everything the CZcams tutorials have mentioned. It still looks like black chrome or shaded chrome to me. I know kit chrome looks toy like to many, but as long ad the mold and plating is good, I think it looks better than anything sprayed. Salvinos JR has the best kit chrome I've seen from the domestics.
Looks and acts just like Alclad. I find the trick to using Alclad (and probably this as well) is to hold the airbrush further away that you think will work, layer it on with a spray pattern so thin you don't see it flying through the air, keep turning the piece, and watch as it begins to turn chrome seemingly by itself. When it gets to max brilliance, STOP. It's always tempting to keep spraying more, but the moment you put too much on, it turns from chrome to silver.
Bs lay it down 😝just kidding 🤥😳
👍🏻👍🏻
Looks great!
I bought three bottles of this last year and I still haven’t tried it yet 😂. But I’ve heard nothing but great things about it.
Nice video Matthew! Green Stuff World looks very promising. Thanks for sharing👍👍
I used recently Revell chrome spray can. Very good stuff, no undercoat needed. The best for my!
Yes I agree, but you can not touch it, wipe it, get anything on it. Plus takes a long time to dry, like a week or more. If its thin, then it drys pretty quick. But sometimes you need to spray it again due to a defect or crack like finish and then the paint gets thick. Stuff is amazing otherwise.
Wow that's really nice!!
That looks a super product! Thanks for the share, Matt!
Great video and review, thank you!
I've bought several types of chrome paint lately (Alclad, AK Superchrome, and others).
I'm less than impressed with all of them. So far the Molotow beats them all hands down. This stuff looks great in your video. I'll try some of this and see how it compares.
Looks good to go Matt, thanks for sharing. Donnie
Nice test Matt. It's another one of those paints that is great for small parts in my experience.
Love GSW chrome. Did the helmet on my Red Baron hot rod. Perfect stuff
looks good Matthew. I might have to try that
I've been using their chrome for a while and love it.
I might have to get some of this.
Those look pretty nice.😊
Hi matt. You need 4 or 5 mistcoats. 5-10 min drying time in between. The GWF shifting color are awesome and so easy to spray. Just that AK shiny black under it and you get the best result. And these bottles need a firm long shake. I don,t know what the price is in the USA but here in Spain i pay for that chrome about $4,-
Brilliant mate👍
Great vid
That looks really nice. I have recently discoverd Molotow chrome pens and picked up a 1mm and 4mm from Hobby Lobby and they have worked well for what I have used them for. Man I have never used an airbrush, but I am going to have to learn to do that. 👍👍👍
Air brushes changed my world!
Looks very good. I have excellent results with Spazz and Alclad. Yeet another option.
Cool review. I use the GSW Gloss Balck primer.
I've sprayed spastix on the inside of polycarbonate rc bodies. The process is different chrome first on body then back in black. Spastix gave me the best results
I like it! 😳🙃🫡🇺🇸
Got to get me some green stuff
👍🏻👍🏻
I use it and love it, great vid Matthew!
Seems to be good stuff
Great review dude!
What's your top five Chrome paints?
I think that chrome is the best stuff you can buy
I got some for Christmas and really enjoy both versions. It seems to be more durable than MOLOTOW. I still prefer Alclad with their Aquaclear over it. Thanks for sharing
Have you tried airbrushing this over a matte surface? When brush painting it, it comes out just like a mirror over matte, so I'm wondering if airbrushing it comes out the same way? I know Alclad's doesn't, it's totally different on a matte vs gloss base but I was surprised this stuff brushed so well on any base.
Looks like you're getting an effect not unlike "tiger striping" with that overspray. Makes me wonder of a few drops worth of Floquil wouldnt help it.
Where did you get the block with all the holes in it?
Hobby lobby on the model isle.
I forgot to mention, it's odourless. It doesn't stink at all.
Nice vid. The chrome looks very believable in scale. Hope your vacuum has a "Brushless" motor or may run a risk of fire or explosion from any flammable paint fumes.
The motor isn't exposed to any of the fumes. It's a wet vac so the motor is outside of the tank. I thought that through before trying it. It's worked great for years now but yes if exposed to the fumes it could be a huge problem!
Looks good Matthew.......
👍🏻
revell crom spray is about the best crome trit Matt
Awesome I got lots of large scale stuff to chrome but with our high temperatures here in Glendale Arizona the heat has me lazy soon to be 113 115 degrees
Ouch!
@@modelcarvideos5829 yup today 110 then the temperature gets higher and higher as the weekend comes should see 113 by Wednesday
Funny because the chrome takes about 33% of the shine away from the base black. Have you done the Revell rattle can assuming you can find it? I find that reflects a LOT of detail right from can - not even decanted. Good job! 👀
Would applying varnish over this GWS Chrome Metal paint ruin the effect? I wanna paint a mini with it for a board game, obviously it will get touched/handled...?
Not sure but usually when you clear it it just turns silver.
Nice 😅
Could you put a gloss clear over it to get a bit more shine and make it safe to handle?
i tried 2k over it, it doesnt work very well. it kinda dulled it. This stuff looks good, but isnt very durable
Thanks for showing that Matthew, I just bought three Green stuff work chrome yesterday. Today I will buy the AK Black base. What air pressure do you spray the ak Black base at? Thank you😎👍
I spray the black base around 18
This chrome paint doesn't rub off if You touch it. It dries rock hard. I think You put too much on. It needs super super thin coats.
Yes 4 or 5 mist coats gives the best result
Yeah I heard 4-5 mist coats that was pretty heavy. DOH
Is there anyway to add a gloss coat without it turning into a dull coat?
Not that I know of.
Can you brush that on or only airbrush that stuff any emput wood be great
They make an airbrush and brush on.
Hi Matthew, can you clear coat over it to stop finger prints? I’m looking for a chrome to use of scratch build slot cars, so they’ll be handled.
Cheers Tony
I haven't but they say it'll make it dull and look like silver and not chrome if cleared.
@@modelcarvideos5829 thank you, appreciate it.
First. But not the first time.
Quick question.....what do you use to keep the parts attached to the wooden piece while painting? I have always wondered this and don't want to try anything to strong that might hurt the part. THANKS!
Just a little super glue. It pops right off when you're done.
@@modelcarvideos5829 Awesome! I appreciate the tip
Curious if this will take a wash (for the grill) or paint (for the parking lights).
it doesnt
well at least the Tamiya panel line wash anyway
Haven't tried this one yet but more than likely it will break down.
@@modelcarvideos5829 the Tamiya panel line wash will for sure. Maybe something arcylic based would work. A vallejo or something. You need to try the Revell chrome spray. Its expensive AF, but it is awesome. Best stuff out there.
How does it look after spraying clear over it?
I'll have to try that!
I've been using this "stuff" for over a year. I see you are using the airbrush flavor. I wasn't impressed with that. Try using the non airbrush flavor in the airbrush (I don't follow instructions well) and kind of put it on pretty thick. Stand back and be amazed as it flashes. No base coat, no primer, the smoother the plastic the better. Doesn't matter what color but I'm fond of white plastic. If you get trash in it, dunk it in rubbing alcohol, try again. Dehydrate the daylights out of it. Then you can handle it, not too much though. Much more robust than the Revell stuff in a can.
Cool! I'll have to try that
I wonder how that grill would look with some Tamiya black panel line put on?
I think it will break the chrome down. I'll probably use craft paint for that.
I wonder how any of these chrome paints would look under a dark gray base rather than a black base. Has anyone tried that?
Maybe that would look good.
I’ve seen guys spray the chrome over gloss blue, and that’s fairly convincing.
This Green Stuff World chrome is actually nice. Did it get smudged like Molotow Liquid Chrome?
I dried it completely so no
I like the black base but some places just look like glorified silver ( the search goes on
10:57 that stuff stinks. soon as you touch it thats it! cloudy and finger prints.
I sprayed an MG Gundam sword AK Super Chrome and it looked awesome. Then i had to attached said sword to hilt and the hand... now its sheathed..
Good to know.
Have you tried airbrushing molotow?
No but I need to.
What's Used To Clean Your AB After Using This Product ?? TIA 🤗
I always clean my AB with carb cleaner.
Seriously ❓❓
Yep, that's what I've always used.
OKEY DOKEY 🤗🤗
Good effort and Thanks for sharing! Still hate the focus issues with your camera...
Yeah me too. The camera is smarter than me!
