I bought this product the other day and just finished a job using it. The job was a steel roll cage. I've very impressed with the finish.
Note: The service and advice I got from the guy in the video was excellent. He delivered the product himself and ran me through what was required. Good old fashion customer service at it's finest.
don t tell me it was stainless steel ... because if it was shoulda just polished IT and no color on top... you ll get such a mirror effect mutch better to work then with paint like this... i was apprentice once in a steelworks company ... and there i did something like that
@@solunasunrise Not stainless. 5 months later it's lost a little but still looks good.
@@SPOOKSTR okay
@Stellarion Prime you don't make roll cages from stainless steel 😂
@@stylezofnz because it's too expensive?? Only mild steel or can you make roll cages out of other materials? Just curious
Wow. This is the first paint I've seen that even comes CLOSE to real chrome! Good to know I don't need to use a spray gun. Fabulous!
5 k a gallon. 😂🤣😂
I've had this is my Watch Later list for like 5 years and I just now finally watched it. I regret putting it off so long. This video is great. You can tell alot of time and money was put into making the video. I'm glad I know about this product.
I would immediately spray it on to my mouth and shout WITNESS ME!!

I learned a lot from this presentation! I am sold!
Great video, looks like a good product. I've always had the issue with painting plastics with chrome that when I apply a clear coat on top, it clouds the chrome completely. This at least seems to retain some gloss after clear coating. Thanks again.
This product looks easy to use & the finished product looks absolutely amazing!!! Thank you for sharing.
Amazing product and results, not often one is impressed by the way a product is presented, well done.
Thanks for providing a professional presentation using reasonable scientific method of comparisons. So nice to see a proper and comprehensive comparison. Hopefully others will learn from this.
Does this work with only chrome or can I also use Mozilla Firefox
chrisguy97 yes a 1k clear over it is best.
Chrome and Safari only. Lol.
Mozilla Firerfox & Opera
Why use poser explorers..
Because you dont know unio... or 1 single site number to dial up a page yourself. Fuxin googlers.

Awesome. I have a 78 vw kombi with chrome bumpers and I have a set of plain steel ones, I could paint those white ones since the chrome ones are rusted ! Looks great. If durability is a concern, I guess I could clear coat them.
It's definitely a more dull finish for sure, but for a cheap quick and easy chrome solution, it's the bomb!!!!! thanks for sharing your hard work man.
I like this product. Living in the U.K, I wanted this in the 1980's, for model car making.
Model cars...that was my first reaction...I remember the kits from my yout'...when I'd mess up the chromed kit parts and had no way to Realistically fix them...now. years later, here's the solution I needed 50 years ago...
I remember back when they came out with this and the other method. The paint version seems to been improved but hard to tell on video.
In the past, it was ok/good looked like a fogy chrome hard to describe. The other method they had was a few step process with special equipment but made anything look like real chrome.
For years ALSA was big at the SEMA show. Interesting very little shops in my are used ALSA most used house of kolor for custom paints. Only had one company sell ALSA in my area before they closed down and they seemed to not sell much of it. Even tho they make good products and not overpriced but not cheap at the same time.
Anyway thanks for sharing in detail keep up the good work.
was it Spectra Chrome?
This product is really producing an impressive finish.
Not only did I learn a bit...the sound track led me to a new favorite band Stone Broken
I was really skeptical, but this is rad af. Great option for restoring classic cars. I was hoping something like this would rock up for my car
Definitely using this for my Daft Punk helmet!
Same I just gotta dye it gold
Absolutely amazing, really nice job and a great product.... going to give it a try on my motorcycle fenders.... thanks bro ✌️
Cheers. This is the video that made me decide which spray chrome kit to buy.
That as a base coat for candy paints would be amazing
Real amazing to see paints advanced so much over the years. Do you shot clear after or just leave it? Can you buff it?
As soon as you shoot clear it will get cloudy. THIS VIDEO dodges the bullet on that topic ALSA also does the same when you call their support.
I'm loving how the motorcycle helmet came out. I have a dull grey one that I might spray paint metallic gold chrome.
Thank you so much! I recently bought a barcelona chair for 25 dollars and the metal frame a chrome are in horrible condition. Now I feel I can bring it back. The guy that sold it to me sprayed paint it in a dark brown including he also sprayed painted the cushions. I am excited to see how amazing this chair is going to look.
What an awesome project! Good luck!
You could use this stuff to convert cling film to cooking foil.
Lmaooo
I wonder how well this holds up in headlights, seems like the original and functionally reflective look people are after but without the plating.
That's amazing! I really miss the chrome that used to be on cars. Even jalopies could look fabulous when the chrome shined up.
Really impressed with this product. Thank you for a well-done demo.
One question though... If you've cleared the helmet, won't touch-up look odd, with spot-spraying the chrome over the clear?
While I certainly couldn't shine your shoes when it comes to spray painting... wouldn't it be advisable to just spray the entire thing, then clear again?
What will it look like after a year in sun? The UV rays won't destroy the chrome paint?
We was always looking for something like this as kids. We could never find a good chrome paint.
You still haven´t, it´s still all rubbish.
@@yves3560 good looking might have been what he meant.
@@yves3560 yeah exactly. True chrome requires electroplating and which has a steep learning curve due to elemental Hexavalent Chromium being one of the most toxic substances known to man.
Body mistakes it as phosphate and absorbs it deep into celular nucleus then it starts oxidizing the DNA as a free radical.
Wow! This is just awesome. All the comparisons und tests.
Impressed!
And with this song in the backround i want to spray some chrome myself!!
Nice now I can repair and paint my chrome rims
I think there are some visible differences between the painted and the real chrome bar.
The reflections on the real chrome bar are way more crispier and not so washed out.
Also the real chrome seems to have a higher contrast, because of darker blacks, while the painted looks more greyish and foggy.
I agree real chrome does look better but I think the ease of application will really see this be used a lot more
@@bigDbigDbigD
For sure l just watched a chrome paint from 8 yrs ago, it took 10 different processes, and then baking in an oven, this is a miracle compared to it
Yeah a little troubling from an honesty standpoint for a painter to say "can't tell the difference"
I have a go to painter for our show cars. I pay him because he is super anal about his work. There are things that we have had to argue with him were not an issue that he absolutely REFUSED to let leave his shop as they were. It can be annoying when we have deadlines since he is outsourced labor but its much better than other painters where we had to argue with them that they WERE going to fix it
They would have said something like "can't tell the difference" when you clearly can. Our painter would have said "not even remotely close" even though its good enough to pass and acceptable based on work effort and price.
Did you try to polish it ? Or if so, possibly to soon even ?
Amazing can't wait to paint my car like this
You end up doing it?
@@nestoramaral4425 I think he did, but he parked it in a field once and still can’t find it
@Beak Boi you mean to tell me he lost a whole ass car?😭😭🤣 if you’re not tryna be funny than that really sucks, wonder how he managed to not find it tho lmao
@@nestoramaral4425 A spaceship couldn’t even go as high over your head as that joke did
Super cool product! Thanks for the demo!
Have you tried cut and buff or just straight buffing to improve the reflectivity/chrome mirroring effect of this paint?
Fantastic Chrome Alert Presentation Video! My Mind was blown at your incredible results. And when you apllied a clearcoat around frames 5:30 , my brain was totally decimated into the creative universe! I swear, so many people have said you can't clearcoat metaillics or shiny paint. I've got a pair of *Michael* *Jackson* Replica Prop Shiny *Shin* *Guards* I built using some Krylon stuff. Thanks to your paint review, watch me make those MJ Shin Guards even brighter!
It has a very unique look. It looks more like polished alloy to me. I can definitely think of some good applications for this product.
Thanks for this video! Could I use this chrome paint to paint raised letters using the same technique you showed in your video about painting raised letters? I’m wondering how this chrome paint will react to a clear coat and lacquer thinner? I want to make the raised logo on my spark plug cover look chrome while painting the rest of the spark plug cover the same color as my car.
With regard to slight flexing of the painted part, how durable is the chrome finish?
This is an awesome idea. I wish they had this paint when I had my shop. I can think of a few things I would have painted with this chrome paint. When you did the side by side comparison with the true chrome bumper and the painted chrome bumper they were pretty close. If you payed attention you could see the very slight difference between the two but it was minimal. Obviously the painted chrome won't be as durable as the chrome plating but anyone who expects paint to hold up as well as plating are idiots. The chrome paint is an excellent idea that can be used on fiberglass or plastic bumpers. You can have the look of chrome without the price and labor of plating. I am definitely keep this in mind for my next project vehicle like my 1979 VW Stallion Trike. I bet candy paint would look amazing sprayed on top of the chrome paint. I would have loved to use the chrome paint for flames on my custom, full custom, slammed Chevy dually.
Yeah I thought that too, about the comparison. The paint looked a bit more...almost like it was over exposed film. Showed more white.
mrbratt69 custom, full custom?
Shelby Seelbach depends on what you consider full custom, I had 3d skulls on mine that looked like they were pulling through the sheet metal and this was waaaaay before Horny Mike had them on his bus or vehicles from the Swift Car Club started using them on their rides. On my dually, with the exclusion of the skulls, it was done in metal and the skulls were glued in place with door skin glue
I just caught why you said it, Excuse me, I just woke up, that's obviously a typo or auto correct problem
mrbratt69 funny stuff.
OK, the price is kinda crazy. However, this is a great video. Well done. My pet peeve about CZcams is when people take 30 minutes to say what could be said in 10. Brevity is the soul of wit.
You covered a difficult product/subject in as little time as possible and yet, got most all the details complete. Keep it up.
p.s. Question. How does it hold up to heat? Can you paint it on parts near the motor??
Thanks for the comment. It can withstand heat. Engine block exhaust brakes. Not header pipes.
Wow. That certainly adds to the value.
And Gravity Is the Soul of Weight
The guy that said it cost $900? Unless the exchange rate is so wacked out.. Go to the website for customspraymods and see for yourself. Its about $50...
Thank you very much! impressive video, well organised and explained
great video but what do different base colors "besides gloss black" make it look like? I'm guessing you can step outside of the box with this and gain some awesome textures and colors pretty easily.. if you've made or know of another video using different color combinations I would sure love to see them.. thanks
Looks great but ya, you should have started the video with the prices!
thanks for sharing your skills knowledge and working together as team member.
Thanks so much for your time and sharing these videos bro!!!!!!
Hello! That is magic, best crome paint so far! ❤️✨🎨🇸🇪
Pricey stuff, but would it be suitable for wheels?
That came out great. Perhaps a bit less mirrored than the real chrome, but close enough. I wonder how it compares to Alclad II chrome paint. That's what Winston Studios used for the T-800s in Terminator Salvation. Alclad II (Alclad 2) is designed for small scale paint jobs, though.
This is why I'm here.
I'll be back.
a lil Foggy on the edges but pretty good ey
@@Clda47
Yeah, it's a brilliant result!
Nothing a little polish won't fix
going to use this to re chrome my plastic chrome trim thats moulded into a larger plastic trim thats not replaceable, thanks for the video cheers
It looks like it is a slight haze, but it is good enough! I have some shotgun rusted chrome model A headlight buckets that I will rust-mort then paint just as you did! I was wondering how to take care of them. Now I know, thanks!
How’s it look on aluminum? How long does it remain in show chrome condition, without chemical contact, impact, or physical damage?
Here in FL is around 400 to chrome a big bumper,i mean REAL chrome plating
where? do tell
Wow, brilliant. Now need to look to see if I can get in the UK.
I’ve been looking for something like this for a while. I wanna put fiberglass bumpers on my Chevy II but didn’t want them to have painted bumpers I want that factory chrome bumper look I would love to do this all while adding a few coats of clear so it really has a deep mirror like shine.
Will Easy Chrome withstand engine compartment heat when applied to plastics?
I think not. At least the one i can get is just for decoration.
It would be interested to see what would happen if you gave it a flat and polish
Who taught you English? Go to school.
Hello, query: after painting chrome, do you put a layer of protector for the chrome? What kind of protector do you put on it? I have seen that chrome cannot be lacquered because it darkens and loses almost all of its reflection.
I'd like to see if it can be polished to get a better finish and if it'll wear off as well as wear off due to UV light/rain over time. Will it stain from rain marks on a car over time and how stone chip resistant is it?
Can you polish this like normal chrome to bring it to a mirror finish? Looking forward to seeing a candy coat over it, it would be good to see a comparison to a normal silver base compared to the chrome base
Mav Shepherd or add clear coats to it and many coats of clear
real chrome is much tougher. treat this like paint and it will be great. the point is to get the look and the fact that you can touch it up easily.
Would like to know this aswel if it can be cut and polished like regular paint.
Av987 I'm sure you can wax it like you would do paint?
Yeah, I'm sure you could, but waxing is only temporary, while cut and polish is permanent.
Looks great, you said it has to be on a gloss black base coat, i would like to see it over a different color (maybe red and a lime green) base just to see what happens.
thanks, I wanted to find a good product to make my R2-D2 droid's chrome dome to look chrome, this works nicely.
Gotta say, that's the best chrome imitation I've ever seen.
Looks like a fantastic option for touching up a classic car on a budget.
Considering grabbing this for my '66 Impala
900 dollars a pint that's some budget
@@davetaylor2449 i saw the video and was hoping for a cheaper alternative to real chrome but once i saw the price i thought the same might as well save and just get my parts re-chromed properly
Idk if $900 a pint is budget worthy..lol
Where can i buy that easy chrome
Amazing product & I was toying with the idea of using it with hydrographics. But DAMN! Nearly $300 for a rattle-can & $899 for a pint can set burst the experimenting bubble. At that kind of cost the paintbrush in the video must have had nearly $300 worth of product in it.
RESET1776 - you could probably have it actually metal-chromed for that price....
Steve McCormick
I priced chrome plating a grill once, it was over $1,000. This is definitely a cheaper alternative

.
You can simply buy a chrome motorcycle helmet fir less than the paint alone
Just to remind you, it is NOT PAINT. It's really silver that goes through a complicated reaction to precipitate directly on the surface. It took a lot of r and d to create this, and if another method is more cost effective for you, then feel free to use it.
That's awesom, could I use it to repair the reflector in a head lamp?
I own a 2004 Chevy Silverado, with factory chrome wheels that are in absolutely terrible condition despite carefully taking every possible precaution of protection during winter road salt, etc.
What do you think about trying
Easy Chrome on these instead of replacing the wheels ?
Anybody know where to buy this stuff anymore? I can't find it on the market.
@sara-jayne Davis alsacorp.com/product/easy-chrome/ and there is a link to their European store as well.
Looks similar to the real deal, not bad.
Outstanding presentation! A little too fast for me as you talk about special primers and such so fast I could not follow.
Questions:
1.) Does it always require the base coat and is your black base coat the only one that works?
2.) Do you have what I thought you said you have which is a simple spray paint can (disposable) "rattle can" that we are all so familiar with? I have to touch up some motorcycle rims that have rust areas on otherwise perfect chrome. I just need a spray can to recoat the areas that have rust (I will remove before painting chrome) do you have a product like that or again, is it always a two-step process?
Thanks again. Great Product!!
Sweet! .. have you tried wet sanding the spray chrome to give it an ever more polished look? How did that turn out?
excellent!
thank you for letting us watch your videos

Wow, That chrome paint is top notch.
I am wondering if anyone actually bought this product and if it was as advertised?
Excellent review of the product!!
Awesome product. Thanks!
Spend the whole video wondering if it was an April's fool video. That looks amazin!
2 questions:
- would it work on top of an epoxy paint?
- can you polish it (it looks slightly hazy)
Yes I use epoxy on my fiberglass airplanes and had used this crome paint
You can probably polish it like a normal paint.
Will this paint guarantee me to acess valhalla ?
Only on a lovely day!
that is awesome! Thanks for your tutorial
I live in the USA and I really enjoyed your video. My question is: I have a set of aluminum wire wheels from a 1982 Lincoln Town Car and a set from a 1985 Cadillac Seville elegante. How well will this work on the wheels and spokes?”.
also can you mix colour with the chrome to give it a tinsel look
Close, but it looks foggy next to the real chrome and it's too expensive IMO.
Robert G ya. It looks more like polished aluminum
@@robertstaff That's exactly what I was going to say! The comparison shot between the real chrome bumper and his painted one wasn't even close.
It would cost about $700 to$1000 get that bumper chromed where I work.
Owen Oulton, it's close enough for me. Saves a shit ton of money and if you don't know it you wont even notice.
@modern studies skilled workers grinding and polishing, then skilled chemistry croming. Plus lots of materials stripping acid, grinding disks, cotton sanding wheels, sandpaper, buffing wheels. Then all the chemicals need for the actual plating. All good chrome goes copper, then back to polishing, then nickel, and finally chrome. You might have to buffing the nickel and chrome as well. Also it's a luxury, where I work does show chrome.
Wow, that looks really good.
Never thought you could get that kind of results from spray on chrome paint. Can you spray black over chrome to get a black chrome look.

@m whos Matthew Fogarty??
Too expensive but finally we can do chrome easily, price needs to come down 90%
The consumer grade kits really aren't that expensive. I pay more for a trip to the hair salon. For the commercial grade amounts, yeah, it's expensive, but that's because it's for professionals and you get enough product to paint many, many vehicles.
