Officers were dispatched to a call for a "Well Being Check" after a neighbor noticed the doors open next door and a couple people passed out in a vehicle.
It gets a lot worse unfortunately... I was a RA my freshman year of college and we did rounds every night before dorm lockdown. Not even halfway through the first semester I found 2 if my really good friends with alcohol poisoning. One was in the hospital for 2 months in really bad shape and the other passed away after a week in the hospital, both were 18 at the time this happened. I had to do CPR on the friend that passed away while waiting for the EMT's. Nothing I wish on anyone and because of it I've never drank a day in my life and I'm 44 now, was 17 then.
What’s so disturbing about that? I’m glad our law enforcement officers and emergency response units are ready to come save our lives in any given situation

As a former addict myself I can say that "letting yourself get this bad" isn't really how it happens. It takes over and after a while you're someone/something else with no idea how you got there. You're right about one thing though, looking back it definitely is embarrassing.
All I can think of when I watch these types of calls is all the ways they made themselves potential victims. They can obviously OD if they took drugs but they also made themselves completely open to robbery, rape and murder. easy prey unfortunately.

I woke up to an officer trying his best to wake me up. My man looked at me and said "Hah I've been there". Ended up giving me a ride home that night, But boy were my parents not happy.
They’re probably the only 2 in town that could leave their doors open, and pass out in their cars with their doors open without being robbed, raped and beaten within an inch of their lives. Like when drunks drive and have a horrible car accident. The other guy is always horribly injured or gets killed and the drunk walks away without a scratch.

If I was able to do that while blackout then they def could too the difference being they prob didnt get too much sleep and were absolute peak drunk or they could have very easily mixed it with others substances like barbituates or opiates which would make the situation far harder and frankly quite dangerous.
