I know the police must have a sort of training to how to manage those cases. But the best training is on the field, and you can see they have a lot of experience to how to manage those call. Other police department should take exemple on Columbus Police Department, because I found them to be the best with those kind of peoples who are on hard drug or in mental crisis. I give 12/10 for the officer who drove him to the hospital.
You hit the nail on the head with that comment. Officers are trained on how to interact with people like this, but you can only learn so much in training. The real training happens on the streets through trial and error. Officers who work in these areas deal with this stuff all the time and have a lot of experience with it.
Well, Ohio has had a pretty big hell of a hit on the drugs.. It’s really pretty sad how hard all the states are getting hit with this stuff. We’re all trying to forget something.
All he did was treat him like a human & that's admired by me for sure.
Amazing police officer!!!! So kind and patient!!!!
HIs ass needs to be in jail, you do the crime you do the time. The emergency room is not a place to hold your hand. Its unfortunate that the emergency room has become indigent primary care and considered a civil right which it's not. Emergency medical care should be relegated for those people who are having a real life threatening medical emergency. Holding his hand is not treating him like a human being, throwing his ass in jail is much more humane than holding his hand to displace already overwhelmed emergency medical resources.
This cop is amazing. Every time he handles a high person he treats them like a human. He has compassion and patience. Commendable
From this day on, he will be known as, Angel Cop.
He may have the last name Miracle. Friend of mine, her brother joined the CPD a few years ago...
If only more Police could have his attitude & compassion this world would start to become a much better place!

This is not how you are supposed to confront your inner demons. Pretty sure this just creates more denons lol
Damn. This kinda broke my heart. The officer was amazing but so was the guy that needed help. Although clearly suffering from substance abuse he was respectful, kind and peaceful to the officer. I hope he gets the help he needs to recover. I bet he’d be one heck of a great guy if he were sober.
I'd say this officer was more than professional. He was downright compassionate. 👮♂️👍
He’s out there changing lives ❤ compassion like this can really impact the recipient in a way that can help them change the path they’re on. At 14 I was arrested. The cop started crying. He told me about his daughter who was my age and that he knew how much a parent can love their child. He asked me to be more careful because my parents love me and it’s really mean to make them worry. I still had some growing pains but that talk he had with me really impacted me. 5 years later I took a job as a nanny and it turns out that his children lived with the woman I started working for. I got to tell him what a difference he made in my life.
Wow....how life works sometimes!!!❤️
This cops tone and body language should be taught across the world.
Hope he and others like him see your comment.

THIS OFFICER NEEDS AN AWARD...... MOST OTHER CITYS WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE GUY TO JAIL.
Most likely the small town jail would of just cut him free because of budget cuts.
This cop should come to fresno ca to train the police department because here they think there above the law they are disrespectful and gun trigger quick
This is one of the saddest things in America right now. It's in the top 5.
Or worse. These guys almost make me wanna live in Columbus. Drugs are saturated in even the smallest of towns and unfortunately many of the small town police lack the training and patience and yeah compassion these guys exude daily. That's coming from personal experience. Prayers for the safety of these guys and gals. As well as those suffering from their own demons.
it might not be drugs. he might have a problem.
This officer is a perfect example of how they should interact with the citizens, whether they be drug addicts, mentally ill, or any other type of distress/disorders. He's calm, polite, respectful and does a fantastic job communicating in a manner that makes you feel safe and comfortable to consult with him. He should be a role model and trainer for other officers that deal with these situations daily.
Yes, and some radical liberals want to defund them. The police do a fantastic job.

@@MilyMoon27 i watch these videos and i feel terrible knowing half of these people on drugs probably won’t get mental health treatment and live a better fulfilled life despite the officers calm demeanor… they go to a court with a bunch of shitty legal problems and either get time or deeper into a hole from our justice systems way of handling mental health i was in treatment for almost two years and learned so much in that time hell I learned i can be a productive member of society but that’s just because my state let me do that! Not everyone gets that option and it hurts to know.
Yeah all that's great but what happens when some of up finally have some clean time & figure out that there's no one or nothing to come back too
@Probably 2021 You have obviously never been down the deep dark hole of depression where all feelings of joy, love, happiness are taken away leaving you with nothing but a hell that is your life that you will literally do anything you can to escape from even if it is for a few hours. Some maintain a higher state abusing cigarettes, alcohol etc. Some sink deeper into other drugs and habits. Likewise when you are locked up, society turns against you and makes it impossible for you to rebuild your life, how would you react? People with drug abuse problems need help, not to be shunned from society which will just send them deeper into substance abuse. When someone rebuilds their life to a point of not needing to escape anymore, drugs loose their control. The way these people act is the fault of society demonising them and ignoring them.
Exactly 😞
The fact that he was popping in and out of consciousness but still was able to convey a heart felt "thank you" just showed that he was able to understand the compassion he was receiving.
I read it as "pooping" for a second
I used to be an addict and I just want to thank this officer for having a heart and treating that man as a human being helping him get help. Its people like you who give us recovering addicts and active addicts hope and show that someone does care. You are amazing sir and deserve the best for the way you handled that whole situation.. I hope this man woke up the next morning and got the help and treatment he needed because someone didn't just throw him in a cell to suffer than throw him back out to fend for himself but better yet took him somewhere to get him mental support and better options.. thank you from one recovering addict for giving a dam and just showing some kindness. Koodos to the officer for treating Scott so respectfully and maintaining his dignity and being friendly but at the same time keeping him safe and being professional. I care a lot for people who are snarled with the disease of addiction. @Probably 2021 I survived a 15-year marriage to a man that became so drug addicted to anything and everything. And I believe everything you are saying. I will tell you one example of how out there he got. One morning my daughter and I woke up and we're headed for the kitchen. My ex was lying on the floor with flour and all kinds of other stuff all just on the floor. And he was sort of rolling in it and rubbing it. I asked him what he was doing and he told me he was making gravy. Oh and I just have to mention this to. He destroyed, yes destroyed one of my car's just in the driveway. He came into the house and told me that little Mexicans were sabotaging it. After some conversation I thought he was talking about just smaller shorter people. Know he was talking about one foot tall little Mexicans. Don't know why Mexicans were something that he labeled have no idea! I got in the car to take my daughter to school as I'm getting off I-95 I had no brakes. Thank God I was able to pull the emergency brake. Anyway, he put transmission fluid and other things into the brake line. He got clean so many times at the rehabs. I figured that would be it he would be fine. I just couldn't understand why somebody so desperate to get that fix all the time because detoxing is so painful! Why would you then go back on drugs that you know you have to chase that high so that you don't go through detox.?! After spending and losing to drug dealers, nearly a quarter of a million dollars I finally divorced him. I have no idea where he is now, but he contacted our daughter to tell her one of his legs was amputated because he was injecting drugs into it and something happened. At first I felt the poor guy this is a disease. After years of heartache and the torture in hell he put me through and the money lost and stolen, I can't help but say it's not a disease, it's a choice. I suffer from cancer lupus, I didn't just decide one day let me just see what it feels like to struggle through these diseases. They are diseases. Definitely not a choice!
@Probably 2021 you are very wise. I don't know how you do it. I put in my 15 years of struggle. And I must suppress my feelings of anger towards addicts. I get so angry that they harm us. Not just our bank accounts are wasting our time. But we are put In Harm's Way. I can't tell you how many times I had to drive to the bank go inside and withdraw money to pay to drug dealers or whoever they were that showed up at my door claiming my X owed them money. My twelve-year-old daughter and I were home when both of us were victimized by a violent home invasion. I could go on and on. But the home invasion was the last straw and I left and I haven't looked back. I find it difficult to even feign sympathy towards a drug addict. Don't get me wrong I don't live with hate, I'm actually indifferent towards my ex now. But it's also been 5 years. I do have anger towards him for the emotional scars my daughter has. Definitely I'm angry at myself for staying as long as I did. My daughter deserves a better life. And I then, had the money to give her one. Can't believe I stayed in that mess.
@Probably 2021 hi again hun, I wanted to tell you that your comments have really resonated with me. And I definitely am thankful for the work you do. Because there are so many people like me out there that just are over it. And everybody needs somebody. I just have no more left to give for that fight. Have a beautiful day! Thank you again for your thoughts and wisdom.
@Probably 2021 not me. I live a life of pure fitness and health now. and i snorted it a bunch of times, probably 100 or so. @@bendover9021 I bet the funding will come back when they can come up with a model and a way to enforce it/ insensitive to keep minorities alive and not just be pure scum of the earth
Amen
I never thought about it till now, but I live in an area where most of the smaller towns just have 2-4 peace officers & I can't think of any story in 30 years about issues with police.
I'm in the US, but in such a low population that we hardly even had federal enforcement till about 15 years ago, & bc we're only a couple generations in to a drastic culture change/huge differences in the cultures, along with low budget peace officers was the solution.
I'm starting to think having a couple levels of enforcement is the best way to go. You need something totally different for situations like this guy & bad fights at home as you do for something like a person making threats & waving a machete around.
I gree up with a very "old school" mentality about things, if kids got busted drinking at a bonfire it was checked out. Cops actually looked for sober drivers, usually just dumped liquor if they were camping. It was a small enough town warnings could be given, the worst teen mistake didn't have to follow you forever. We actually have a separate court for indigenous people too, bc their grandparents lives by completely different standards & you can't expect them to change their social norms that fast. Bc law enforcement didn't exist,. People were on their own & it's much easier to commit a felony assault during a fight when calling for help just wasn't a thing. You just had yourself to protect yourself.
all calls would be like this when the person called on is just as respective and understanding
The fact this man pauses long enough to apologize to the officer shows he still possesses some level of self-awareness. The care and concern this officer shows him proves there are still some good officers out there that demonstrate the “serve and protect” mindset still can apply. Major kudos to this officer.
There are many good officers out there.

Jaime Mierow guy you’re replying too is right. Ativan IV and maybe some Geodon if he’s tweaking and getting out of bed, then yeah he’s out ASAP. Speaking as someone who works in emergency medicine. True tho they are busy and stressed so they can’t always give the best care at the ER. Not an excuse just the facts
“you gotta click it or i’m giving you a ticket” that sent me 😂😂 you are one amazing officer! you need to be teaching kindness classes, honestly
Kindness classes.....that is such a FABULOUS idea! You’re onto something there.
That officer is an example of how all officers should be when dealing with these type of situations. Notice the guy is respectful & completely compliant. This gives some hope to a world filled with suffering. Can all officers be as compassionate & professional as this man? The world would be SUCH a better place. Likely this man will remember this night & how many people really do care & gets himself help.
This officer really is out there trying to help by saving one person at a time!🥰
That was a good cop. He never asked the lady who called the situation in for id. Was not aggressive to anyone. Got the medics on the scene immediately. He respected everyone. Stayed understanding , reasonable and calm. Was serving the community and is an asset to the city.
10/10
A human cop with a soul, how we need many more like him.
You got that so right
Maybe we already have them if they're just given a chance!
We do. Plenty of them. Its the imbeciles they deal with daily, 24 7 that need the heart and soul.
We do but they don’t get attention like the bad ones
There’s plenty but people like you fail to see it
His body is soo tired and just wanna sleep.....

Which is why I don't understand the appeal of meth. I tried meth once, in my 20s, in college. Now, I'm in my 40s, with restless legs. There's no way I would take something that makes me feel "unfuckingbearable" like that, intentionally.
Basically
@@heathernks8 "I tried meth in my 20s" Holy shit...This is America :D :D In my country they force us in elementary school to watch documentaries which documents lives of addicts for +- decade, all of these people eventually died or looked like zombie...every intelligent kid which see this will never try any hard drug....U should start do these programs in USA.
What an amazing example of compassion. This officer is so sweet and kind. I love him
I’m reminded of a dad driving his hyperactive toddler around trying to get them to go to sleep.
Its so sad to see what drugs do to people. This officer is amazing.
there is no meth bush, this is a poison not a drug.

Yes indeed eh
Bless your heart, officer. Being so kind in handling someone in a crisis situation makes all the difference. Breaks my heart to see people want to harm themselves in someway. I pray Scott can find a way to get his life together and lead a better lifestyle.
This cop is fantastic, treated him like a human, no judgement, kindness and respectful. What a man 😊
At least Scott was a friendly methhead. Godspeed my shiny headed friend.
meth head - crack doesn't make you do this type of actions. he looks like he is on a bad trip
🤘🏻😝🤘🏻
Meth and lack of sleep....REAL sleep
I don’t know what he had taken but I suspect someone gave this young man, fresh out of prison, some bad drugs to mess him up like that. I’ve never seen anything like it. Very sad to me that he was that messed up. I am happy that he asked to be taken to the hospital because his head was messed up. God help this young man get some help. Thank you officer for helping him. God bless you. So sad.
@@joannemcfadden6405 I agree, it’s very sad what these hard drugs do to people. He could’ve just gotten out of jail, & than been ran over while hallucinating. Hope he’s doing better.
This is a prime example we need more officers like him, reading the body language but being cautious at the same time, very good job 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

If every cop had this type of compassion, the world would be a much better place!
His central nervous system is under extreme stress. He really needed medical help. The officers were so kind.

Druggies should be treated as humans and not criminals unless they are actively harming someone else
This cop was awesome with this guy. He kept him calm, let him know he wasn't in trouble, and even talked to him like a friend would. Great job. Hope this man recovers.
The way you treated him with compassion has me crying. I have 23 nieces & nephews-two of them have been addicted to drugs. One took his own life in 2018 at 25yr.s old & the other has been in intensive treatment rehab for several months now. It is heartbreaking having watched them struggle with their drug addictions & everything that came with it.
I am so appreciative of the way you treat these people who are in a crisis while on drugs or mental health instability. Thank you brother! ✌️♥️
I am so sorry. ❤ It's so scary not knowing what kind of problems they will bring the next day. It's good to hear about the one in treatment... Hopefully they can fight for their life back and keep on fighting.
💖💖💖 stay strong
Damn, 23? God bless them all ❤
@@draganristovski7722 😂That's from BOTH sides of the family! It's not like the "19 kids and counting" show! Then we've got the 16 Great nieces & nephews 😀 Love them ALL but had/have extra close (2nd Mom type) relationships with the two boys as they were closest in age to my own sons.
I still have the belt that the one who took his own life used to do it & the pocket knife my brother in law used to cut him down. My husband and I stayed behind to clean up as brother & sister in law followed EMS in my mother & father in law's car to the hospital, so they wouldn't come home & have to face that part & those items of the traumatic aftermath. We got there before the EMS because we live less than a 1/4 mile away ( mother and father in law live across the road from them).
June 10th will be the 3 year anniversary of his death.
Incidentally, that day is also the Birthday of the other nephew who is working hard, through intensive treatment, on his own addiction recovery.
Wow didn't expect to share all that-sorry if it's too much!

8:00 I love how the cop carefully closes the door. He clearly cares about doing his job well. He cared for that guy more than half his friends and family.
As a heroin addict 4 years in recovery, I love how this cop worked with the man who was high.
This is not the norm when police and people on drugs interact. I love it.

The patience of Job, comforting skills of a teddy bear, and the ability to police without automatically finding a reason to arrest. You showed this guy respect even while he was visiting another planet lol.Thank you for your kindness, your professionalism and your service officer❤
Don't do drugs kids!
And please dont use meth!
And actual a nice officer.
This is the only police channel I subscribe to and I enjoy most the officers' decorum. It's so awesome to see the professionalism and help
This should be a mandatory training video on how to handle these kinds of situations. The officer wasn't aggressive at all and his calm, compassion allowed him to take this guy to the help he needed. Too many times cops come in with the wrath of God and it only agitates and escalates the situation, which usually results in a violent and tragic outcome. Great job officer and medical first responders, we need more people like you!
This video hurt my heart. I’ve been there done that. You can tell he’s been up tweaking a while on what I’m thinking is meth because you can see him fall asleep in the back of the car a bunch. I bet he was scared to death when he woke up. I hope he finds the help he needs. We need more officers like him that don’t treat all drug addicts like scum.
How do people sleep on meth. That seems backwards 🤔 so hard to watch him. 😢
You get to a point we’re you’ve been up so many days without sleep that your body starts shutting down and falling asleep so quick but your brain is still going 100mph! It’s the craziest feeling!
I don`t feel sorry 4 any JUNKIE !!! No one is forced to take drugs !!!
It looks like people who use that new stuff ... spice? But with meth as well. Ive never seen anyone on meth with such wild body movements.
DONT DO DRUGS!!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMPASSION OFFICER!
The patience level of this officer is godlike. Amazing work.
The respect I have for this officer is immense. The way he treated this man is admirable. I wish every officer would treat people who are going through what this man is going the same way. Not once did he belittle or degrade this man. As a former addict I wish I could thank this officer for being a human being with morals and empathy.
