Train Simulator 2020 - Southern Pacific Cab Forward - Short Freight From Truckee

- Today we are driving through the mountains in the east of California - close to the border with Nevada. As you can tell from the title and thumbnail, the engine for this run is a Cab Forward steam locomotive, specifically AC-12 class No. 4294, which is currently preserved. The engine was built in March 1944, but only lasted 12 years in service - being retired in March 1956. Fortunately she became the only Cab Forward to survive into preservation. After cosmetic restoration in 1981, the engine was put on display in the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, and she's still there today.
Our run starts in the yard at Truckee, and we are tasked with assembling an incredibly short freight train before heading over the mountains to Norden. The train consisted of just 11 wagons, which is far too short for a massive 4-8-8-2 articulated engine. I'll wager that the two SW1500's in the yard could have managed the train.
After some major problems with keeping boiler pressure, I managed to get it under control and got the Cab Forward to Norden without any additional problems.

Yeah, admittedly, that is a short consist for the mighty Cab Forward. If there were other SP steam in the game (I didn't have the GS-4 at the time), I would've used that instead. I made this years ago and just wanted to make a good scenario with the Cab Forward. Apologies for the short consist, but thanks for playing my scenario!
Never seen a steam loco with a front cab before, Cool video!
The inside feels like you're in a truck. THIS IS SO FIRE‼️‼️🗣️🗣️🔥
They're called Cab forwards
seriously, we need this as a DLC in TSW4.
"Pew, pew pew!"
Yeah what was that sound?
Hey was this freedrive or quick drive? I'm trying to figure out how to do a quick drive where i can pick up cars and such
why does the air compressor sounds like a lazer gun
My guess is because D.T.G. messed up the sounds again.
@@TheTrainspotterFromTauranga okay
The sounds of the compressor is correct for a real AC12.
@@TheTrainspotterFromTauranga D.T.G. weren't involved with the creation of the AC-12 DLC. G-Trax are the creator of it, the 4449, NKP S-2, and SP&S 4-8-4 DLC's all available on Steam, and the air pump sounds are prototypically accurate.
That’s just how it was. The real Cab Forwards had air compressors that sounded like that.
I neeed your help
How do you operate the air horn on the key bord
I can't remember exactly what the key command is, but I think it's 'Q'.
@@TheTrainspotterFromTauranga thank you !
This train looks as if he's backwards
Tried doing the one with the cab forward in this game where u run axross another cab forward that is stuck and it was terrible. The engine had no climbing power
Do you enjoy playing these games?
Very much so, considering that I've been playing TS since late 2013.
The Trainspotter From Tauranga Apparently my friend Nathan does things of yours on Rolling lines
I would assume that's another Nathan?
The Trainspotter From Tauranga Yes correct
