Nest episode: A Guy that Can Stand Still - Unlocking Sherlock
I honestly thought that was for sure a camera or CGI trick. Silly me, he just stood still, :-)
When he fell down i expected someone to help him stand up again..
Everybody is talking about Irene, and I'm impressed by the Hiker dude being able to stand still.
Saame bro. I could never
This should have been called "Irene Adler - Unsherlocking Sherlock - BBC"
Juliana Fajardo YES
This is just... wow I have no words for how amazing this is...
Herge Tintin what episode was she introduced?
Reginald Green The first episode of the second series, titled A Scandal In Belgravia.
Where is that shot? Lace dressed woman walks into the bedroom to whip the tied up woman? What happened to that episode?
"You got that from one look? Definetly the new sexy."
That line delivery was so perfect!
Yes! It was delivered so Elegantly and seemed so natural!
That actress is so beautiful that it's almost painful to look at her.
Ikr I'm so gay
im not gay. but she makes me really2 really not gay
I found her character even more beautiful when she had less make up on.
I went gay
Irene Adler
ok but the camera work is outstanding!!!!
Sherlock is the series with the best camera effects I have ever seen
Dungeon 50 their editing and cinematography is next level
The cameraman was born with a camera 📸 in his hand
@@Alfififian I knoooow 🥺 no one ever talks about the transitions, they are awesome
everyone around me into Harley Quinn and Joker..while im into Sherlock and Irene Adler
Brainy IS the new sexy.
Irqa Yurika I'm into Harley and joker cause at least it's an actual ship compared to Sherlock and Irene
Stick to Harley Quinn and Joker. It's better.
@@PizzaFreaak Abusive co-dependent relationships is better? Cool.
@@copyrighted4382 Yeah, actual ship of abusive relationships, so cool.
NEVER clicked so fast on a Video. I'm so in love with Lara Pulver's Irene Adler. She potrayed her so amazing, and she is just gorgeous 😍
Isn't she just
Plays the role so well
absolutely!
I think of her as the hybrid of Sherlock and Eva green
Red Reaper As a veteran Sherlockian, she was beyond perfect in my opinion. Brilliant casting choice.
Irene is an incredible character. Brilliant, sexy and mysterious. Amazing.
I hate her
Best episode of the show!!!!
my fav
Steffi personally, Reichenback fall (s2-ep3) and season three ep. three are my favorite episodes.
Ishaan Basu i Think so
oh yes!
I TOTALLY AGREEE !
The backround music of that episode is great.
This episode was one of the best! It plays with your emotions and you think you know what's going to happen next, but no, the plot twists and the surprise leaves you amazed. Well done to the writers, actors and the crew! You guys did an amazing job, I loved it :3
God, the music was so good during the Sher-locked moment. Ugh I'm feeling the feels all over again.
At the end of this episode, John says something like "He won't even say her name anymore, she's just 'the woman'" but the clever thing is, she isn't 'the woman' - Irene Adler is 'THE woman'. The definitive female adversary and the closest someone has come to Sherlock's equivalent, the female Sherlock will forever compare other women to. He's not attracted to her physically, there will never be a romantic relationship there but he is attracted to her mind and they respect each other as intellectual opponents, which is such a rare relationship between a man and a woman.
You are right and I totally agree with you.
Sherlock is a very complex character. What doesn he value the most in himself? His intellect. When he comes across another woman with an intellect that intrigues him, he is bound to be attracted to her. Let's take Molly for example. She has the dumb blonde vibe about her even though she's in a field which requires a certain level of academic achievements. Which is why Sherlock has never felt any form of attraction towards her, only gratitude. However, for Irene Adler, he risked his life for her. If that is not attraction, I don't know what is.
@JNike You must be blind then
@@reveirg9 Yes, but only attraction to her mind. Sherlock and Irene met on the same intellectual mutual level. Their relationship was "sapiosexual" or in Irene's words: "Brainy is the new sexy."
Sherlock saved Irene's life because he isn't like Moriarty. He cares for people.
Irene saved Sherlocks and Johns life with her phone call to Moriarty, Sherlock did the same at the end of the episode with Irene. They were quit.
Okay now everything makes sense
Best. Episode. Ever. Moriarty showing a deep insight into his personality, Sherlock doing the same, Mrs Hudson demonstrating her hidden depths, interesting insights into Sherlock's relationships and all being quietly overshadowed by _the woman_ .
Its the best episode of the show
They make SUCH a good pair, Irene and Sherlock! The actors are so well cast and the acting so is brilliant! And Watson's character also brilliantly played!
I love Irene Adler's character she's so classy and goddamn gorgeous I wish she had more scenes.
remember the scene, in the very first Episode. Sherlock explaining his deduction to John, mentioning that his "Brother" left His wife. That's why "he" got rid of his Phone. Otherwise he would keep it, because of "sentiment"
Now, Think about that Sherlock wanted to keep Irenes Phone...
OMG never thought about it. True!!
You are absolutely wright.
Nachtschatten Gewächs, that’s deep.
That's finna woke!!
Harry is short for Harriet.
I love to see how they film it!
I'm a little disappointed we didn't get to see the field bed thing here, but I suppose that wasn't really the point of this clip.
To Sherlock Holmes she is always the woman. I have seldom heard him mention her under any other name. In his eyes she eclipses and predominates the whole of her sex. It was not that he felt any emotion akin to love for Irene Adler. All emotions, and that one particularly, were abhorrent to his cold, precise but admirably balanced mind. He was, I take it, the most perfect reasoning and observing machine that the world has seen, but as a lover he would have placed himself in a false position. He never spoke of the softer passions, save with a gibe and a sneer. They were admirable things for the observer, excellent for drawing the veil from men's motives and actions. But for the trained teasoner to admit such intrusions into his own delicate and finely adjusted temperament was to introduce a distracting factor which might throw a doubt upon all his mental results. Grit in a sensitive instrument, or a crack in one of his own high-power lenses, would not be more disturbing than a strong emotion in a nature such as his. And yet there was but one woman to him, and that woman was the late Irene Adler, of dubious and questionable memory.
- Arthur Conan Doyle (1891), A Scandal in Bohemia
"Devastating speech" You can say that again! That was the most visceral scene in the whole nine episodes. Even as I saw it here, my body shuddered and gasped as tears ran from my eyes. What the hell is that? How the hell did you do it? !
9? I'm counting 10.
unless you also count the unaired pilot or some of the short teasers, then it's even more.
Dragon Curve Enthusiast
Fair enough. I didn't count The abominable Bride. I watched the spoiler reviews because I believed it when it was reported that it was a really, really bad episode. Then when I watched it, it was great. I ruined my whole experience of that episode. Oh well.
goodbye,Mr.Holmes
Mark Lucas I think my favorite quote it Sherlock is when John says to Mary "the problems of your past are your business, the problems of your future are my privilege
Mark Lucas i legit thought she beat sherlock. she got under his skin and played him, got what she wanted and was gone. then sherlock said no
One of the coolest things about Irene to me was that she was inteligent enough to use not only her beauty, but also (and in this case, especially) her true feelings as a tool to play her game with Sherlock. And even so she lost because of that, she played very well until the very end because of them.
Oh god I loved this episode! It's one of my favourite 10 Sherlock episodes :'D
Hahaha ! You made my day ^^
I am Moriartylocked, nice username, I C what you did there, also I agree with you
I am Moriartylocked Hi babe Moriarty ADHDHDHS
So what are the 3 episodes you hate 😂😂😂😊
I LOVE UR USERNAME HAHAHA
I AM SHERLOCKED
I AM SURE LOCKED.
After all these years, this episode still ranks as one of the best (if not the best) pieces of television my eyes were granted to enjoy. Irene... the twists... the music... the performances... "The Woman"... I've even labelled my wife as "The Woman" in my smartphone, says enough? Absolutely brilliant on so many levels, magical on even more.
THIS EPISODE IS WHAT MADE ME BECAME A FAN OF THIS SHOW! Irene is so incredible!
I hope, if season 5 comes out, we get to see more of Irene.
I love every moment this lady on screen.
This episode blows my mind everytime I watch it, it's simply brilliant.
The ending absolute masterpiece!
when he said the loosing part i got chills.
The choice to play Irene Adler is 100% perfect, it was like Lara Pulver was chiseled from the perfect mold…there could NEVER be another Irene Adler for me, no matter if it is Angie Jolie to Gal Gadot. Doesn’t matter.
It is “ride or die” w/ Lara Pulver for me. She is the quintessential seductress, a body & mind punisher or pleasure vixen all the same. She embodies “love at first sight,” with “love” representing everything about her, be it good or evil, naughty or nice. The most fun is when the two become so intertwined it’s impossible to decipher which is which.
Sherlock Holmes takes a ride on her ‘Space Mountain’ and is addicted immediately…just like everyone else.
There is no other.
(Or something like that.)
damn.... man Lara Pulver .... Such beautiful voice she has...
Best episode ever, masterpiece
I know sentiment is a chemical defect found in the losing side, but on the other hand I'm so in love with Lara Pulver's Irene Adler....
I really like what they did with this episode. The character of Sherlock in the BBC series (not necessarily in the original stories) is implied to fear intimacy with people, especially sexual intimacy. He hates being vulnerable because he feels vulnerable all the time. He's acutely aware of the vulnerability of sex, so he wants to avoid it. Irene Adler is basically sex forced in his face, and he doesn't know how to deal with it. He's attracted to her and repulsed by her simultaneously. In the end, he sees how she's just as confused as he is (in her case, she'd always used sex as a weapon, treating it as power and forgetting its inherent vulnerability, something Sherlock never forgot), and uses her confusion against her just like she used his confusion against him. And I'm going to stop analyzing this in the CZcams comment section....
But I like your analysis!
IRENE COME BACK PLEEEAAASE😭 WE LOVE YOUUU❤❤❤
The writing, directing and acting here are just top notch.
The actors are absolutely outstanding in the amazing subtleties of their expressions - the small fear creeping into irene's face as she starts to realize what sherlock may be on, watson's pain at having to lie to his friend, and sherlock's pain yet understanding of why his friend is doing it.
in many ways, this is a masterpiece of character work and acting.
this was the best episode and that music when he unlocks the phone.god!!!!!
this episode is a masterpiece
What a mindboggling and outclass portrayal of Irene Adler by Lara Pulver and what a persona?! The cast, writers, directors, team & Sherlock, very well-crafted!
and this is just losing...
Cold as ice :D
Thing is I would disagree that Sherlock didn't care. Yes at that moment he was winning and be acted like it was all he cared about but their relationship was too complicated for Sherlock to be completely ambivalent
***** interesting opinion :)
His apathy is very Interesting, in the book he is not Like that .
Stop it before I begin screaming. Have mercy...
BRING HER BACK!
No
@@domacinerast1664 yes
I NEED a season 6 Sherlock and Irene NEED a chance. Also, I just need more Sherlock in my life in general. I keep rewatching all 5 seasons and I NEED more than those episodes (plus that mini pre-season 3 episode).
She was just 32 but she looks as though she is in her late 30s in her Irene Adler getup, but when you look at her natural face without any character make up she looks so yong.
Exactly ! You can't tell her age. Such a great and beautiful actress !
I miss this show, I was a super fan! Please bring it back 🙏🙏🙏
She's pure class, what a woman, err THE woman
Irene is the best character of the whole series
The Sherlock channel may not know me, but it knows what I like
this episode of Sherlock just mind blowing 💥
I loveee her
I remember when I watched it and after seeing Sherlock being stumped for so long and them building up with the speech about affection and the password was Sherlocked, I was yelling, like OMG, OMG. WHAT. OMG. WHAT. WHAT. I just lost it, I was out of my mind when it progresses and revealed itself to be so. this episode was amazing. genuinely the best IMO.
love love love Irene
THIS MUCIS OHMYGOD
MUCIS 🙄
@Samson Chang 😂😀
When you are in deep love with mucis that you misspelled nusic.
Sherlock and Irene ♥️🤟
My favorite episode of the entire show tbh. What a masterpiece
Good ol' Irene
I'm enjoying these Unlocking Sherlock episodes of the characters! Gives a little more insight to them, and what the writers think of them! Looking forward to more, and about the female characters! (Molly and Mary, and I hope there'll be Mrs Hudson and even Sally)
dont believe what they tell u
The game of the screenwriters during the show is much more complicated and amusing than the plain charakter descriptions in their official videos)))
I don't know why I'm crying. Bye
Same lol
Your pulse rate was rising when he told her " You must not let ruin your brain"
Benabbou Aissa rule your head...he said that the heart, you must not let it rule your head
Nurlinda F Sihotang
Thanks sherlock
These roles are simply stellar performances from start to finish by both Lara Pulver and Benedict Cumberbatch.
IRENE IS THE BEST
this background score gives me goosebumps ... every time!
This is definitely my favourite episode of the 3 seasons 💙👍🏻
awesome ending. Imagine Irene's feelings at the end; she's facing death and sending one final text to Sherlock, then she hears a distinctive ring in the pocket of her would be executioner. And Sherlock, pretending to believe the lie that Mycroft provides about Irene's demise, knowing the the truth, and that his deception is crucial for Irene's health. And he keeps the phone....
My favorite episode.
No, Sherlock had Mycroft's help. Sherlock cannot highhandedly go to a foreign territory and save Irene from terrorists. They both lied to John Watson.
@@allenho2778 Yes agree! I think Mycroft himself sent his brother to Karachi to save Irene Adler.
Will she come back in season 4? please I love her 😍
I hope too.
That would be something and add a dynamic element to such a sophisticated complex show, I love this show so brilliant!
Won't happen
🤔 how can you be so sure? 😃 @ViniciusRocha
Oh that would be soo cool please give her a comeback
Irene is just SO AMAZING
I WILL GO DOWN WITH THIS SHIP!!!
Omg, every time I watch this I would just burst into tears
Please, bring her back! I've loved her relationship with Sherlock!!
This is my favourite episode!
Irene giving Sherlock his coffee. So cute
Loved it as usual!❤️ I love Sherlock so much it's way better than anything I've ever seen❤️
2:55 one of the most powerful scene of the entire series.
my all time favourite episode!!!
she reminds me a little of Missy...
Yeah
She's not as batshit insane as Missy is, though. :D
Who is missy
Watch Doctor Who, and you'll understand, Pari.
yes, yes, yes, the actresses are very similar to each other .(same hair color, same eye color, similar height)
I love Lara's Irene so much! She is such an amazing actress
I love the part when Sherlock says "I know, and you are losing" I am from Spain and if I don't wrong he says that
+Steffi oh, thanks! I am trying get use to the English speakers but in that part he turn his voice a little bit more difficult of listening for me :)
your doing a great job as far as I can see. keep it up
+Tony Winters thanks, I like English and even I would like to go to England (London) or the United States (New York or other cities) I don't if I wrote the plural of city right xD
Nerox TV yup. You did it right. I wish you the best of luck.
She's so beautiful!
This is the best episode
He just melts her
I can see this episode again and again....
I really really really hope that she comes back in season 4 😩
Wonderful material, thank you
" stop boring me and THINK ! - it's the new sexy." - Ha Ha love that line.
PLS BRING HER BACK!!!! PLSS
she can come to the party after the rainbow themed Johnlock wedding
+Tony Winters I LOVE YOU FOR COMMENTING THIS ITS JUST BRILLIANT
No please, not with the whole tjlc again...
Nguyen Thu Thao again? It never left, my friend.
Tony Winters well, it needs to.
Gosh I love the music!!
I love Mark reading books!:*^^
ugh howww i love this
i'm in the middle of watching that episode rn😂
Haha, me too.
Best Sherlock episode ever.
this is my favorite episode
This was the episode that made me join the fandom. I just simply couldn't get over the fact that Sherlock had feelings, but were they really feelings? After this I watched all 3 seasons in 1 weekend... Whoops
are u a Johnlockian?
Tony Winters Yeah, they would be cute :) Also Adlock would never really work, I don't think.
Puck Koning nah, that would be a very unstable relationship...two gay narcissistic geniuses....
Best episode ever
After last Sunday's episode I'm not so sure anymore that he didn't fall for her after all. I don't think she'll come back for the series finale. I think they will never mention her again, leaving the audience with the burden of not knowing what the truth is. Sherlock Holmes' heart will remain a mystery.
The actress who played Irene Adler did an amazing job, I loved it.
love this best episode ever!
OMMG i totally love Mark's reading voice 😂😂💓
one of best series. I love each and every episode.. thank u for making such an awesome series.. 😍😍
I CAN'T WAIT
irene being a match for sherlock is perfect. sh being a genius in iq/logic when her extreme strength is eq.
