Mine comes with a small circuit board that you plug the monitor chord into and it does not fill up all of the space needed to be plugged in!

I have a question, what do I need the inverter for?
I had an old crappy laptop laying around, which I once got to take apart. I want to make a second monitor for my laptop, but I'm new to DIY things, so I thought that would be a good screen to test it on. A screen I'm really going to use needs to be matte, 1080p and IPS, and this one is glossy, 800p and TN.
So if this works, I'm going to search for a proper screen. But do I need to get a whole new control board, or can I change a few pins on the board to make it compatible with other screens?

You need to check the model number and version number of the display, before get a controller board or something else.
So, go and check the matrix information of the display, and compare if they are compatible with each other, and then get the right controller board kit for yourself.
And one is 1080P, the other one is 800P, it means the resolutions are different here, the firmware is different.
My suggestion is: Check compatibility first, and then choose the right one, which mean cost efficient, and easy to process here.

hello sir i want to know that when we required a jumper setting. or if i have a 10 inch or 15 inch display of old laptop then its required a jumper setting or not and if jumper setting doesnot change it can harm to lcd controller board and display of laptop.

It depends, on the display that you use, sometimes, it's 5V or 3.3V.

hello i have v.m70a controler, and it worked but just for an hour. now only 1/4 of the screen works, the rest displays random colors which change when i disconnect and connect the screen data cable back in. any ideas? did the screen fail or the controller?

And you mentioned that you have a b156xw02 v.2 screen.
I was wondering which one that you refer here, as b156xw02 v.2 got four Panel Models:
B156XW02 V2 HW4A
B156XW02 V2 HW0A
B156XW02 V2 HW5A
B156XW02 V2 HW1A
And I have checked, all of the panel models are with lamp type WLED, it means the Backlight is WLED.
Only those with CCFL needs the inverter.

I'm not too bright so I plugged in the monitor ribbon cable while there was power to the board. I got a little spark and puff of smoke and figured this project was over. Not so! I guess whatever got toasted wasn't important because the lcd screen and the Chinese board are working together perfectly. Thanks!
