Low cost DIY kit for an external LED or LCD video screen. I am using this for my DSLR to help frame difficult angled shots where you can not see the back of the camera screen.

I have a laptop. I want to connect 2 old external screens from that laptop with HDMI port for LVTS So do I need an HDMI TO LVTS converter board for that? Or can it be connected via HDMI TO LVTS CABLE?

You should be able to get a power supply from the same place you purchased the Video adapter. Or go to the link I provided.

Hey do you know an universal Frame/Case for 10.1 inches panels aswell?
And do you know where i can find dummy buttons for the contollbar/board with all the buttons like on/off, Vol.+- and so on. So just a nice case to cover these Boards and Buttons. I dont even know the english word for it.
No, not anything commercially made. I made my own frame and case.
Good video. I got one of these sets for FREE! Just need to see what kind of screen will work with it.
I wouldn't know what cards go with certain screens. Try to google the number on the card and see what comes up.

You email the make and model number of the screen to the link I provided. They will give you a link to the right card for your LED screen.

I took my panel off and it only has the lcds input not cable for the florescents. Do you know if that's a problem?

I am not sure. But I would think that you have to set the voltage to match the power supply. Thanks for the comment.

Have you tried hooking this display with your mobile phone? Does that extend the phone screen?
No, I haven't tried to. You would need some sort of software on the phone to send the video signal to the screen.
Use Miracast or Google chromeCast dongle and plug in HDMI port.
I have an old laptop that suffered a GPU failure. It won't send any signal to an external monitor via VGA or HDMA, but I'm still able to use it occasionally via TeamViewer through my other computer (using LAN). But, I've been wondering... if I build one of these things, will it work via one of the USB slots?

No because display information isn't sent through USB ports.
@@pinchikassandra Oddly enough, 2 years later, I did see some bizarre displays that you can plug into USB. They run on the same concept as USB webcams and such. Don't really need it anymore though :/

HI the AUTHOR, i have a little question not about the lcd contreller BUT about your "roll in" cable to connect camera to lcd... I follow in love with this, could you say more about it, what is the name, where to find, etc.? i use especially amazon.de and aliexpress, so if you have links from those sites it would be wanderfull. success!

They still work. I have had no problems. Make sure you do get the right power supply though. Also if you order one through my link make sure you email them first and give your screen model numbers.

You can order the appropriate power supply with the board from the supplier I mentioned. Just click on the link and go to their store and you can find one.

No, all that I have seen use a 12 volt power supply. But I have not looked for a 5 volt one. They might exist. Do a search and see what you can find.

Hey I got the same controller board but it has some issue light blinks from green to red when I turn it on then no screen shows up .. Any suggestions ??
Just email the company you got it from and see if they will replace it. If you got it off ebay, you should have no problem.

I don't think you can. It is only an input screen like your computer monitor. It is not really any different than your computer monitor. If you had some app on your phone to output the display then maybe.

Will this work on a 21 inch monitor?
I have no idea as to what screen works with what ever card. And I have said this in the video. You have to contact the seller in link I provided and give them the model number and size of the screen. They will tell which card works.

I emailed them and they told me they do not support the particular LCD I was looking at. So that's a shame. Did you come across any other similar sellers like this? Maybe another one will be able to have a controller for this board:

It's says that your scrren is LVDS (4 ch, 8-bit) , 80 pins Connector and max Resolution 2048(RGB)×1536 [QXGA] 120PPI...
So I recommend to you look at Aliexpress to any LVDS seller, they'll (problably) will guide you out...
That would make filming a lot easier!
It definitely does. You can set up the camera at so many different angles and not use a ladder or lay down on the floor.
@@WoodnMetalShoppe I am never sure if my camera is actually recording or now, or even seeing if what I am shooting is focused or not.
@@heyimamaker I have the same problem. With out the monitor I have to stop and double check the camera to make sure it is recording.
When I start recording it shows on the monitor.

When I turn on the laptop screen its yellowish, i cant do anything with it. Night light is off so I don't know what I have done wrong. Anyone knows?
Mine will do that too, at the start. Check your cable connection. Or it could be a bad screen.

Yellow hue screen usually means the CCFL backlight has worn out,(you dont get this with the new LED screens)you can replace the CCFL tube ,ive done loads, as i was a laptop repair specialist.

Yes, could have. But, depending on what you want to use it for. Maybe a TV is not the right thing to use. It is a multi use card.

Just go to ebay site and type in 'N140BGE-L22 driver' or N140BGE-L22 control board''. If there is no exact item that matches your LCD model number, search for the NEAREST board model shown in there but DON"T BUY it. Ask first the seller(click the 'ask seller' at the bottom of the page) of that board for the EXACT driver kit for your LCD. As from my experience, the sellers are kind enough to give you the link that shows the right driver kit.

Yes. And make sure you have the right power adapter. I have 2 that look identical. Same voltage but different amperage. I plugged in the wrong one and burnt out the board.

The back of the screen is plastic. There was no chance of a shock. And I don't think I had the board plugged into power. If the back of the screen had any metal I would have insulated it. Thanks for the comment and noting the safety risk.
