- In this video, I will show you how to recycle your old laptop screen into a simple mobile screen at home.
To choose the right LCD decoder module, you need to determine the screen size, the number printed on the back of the screen, the number of pins on the display connector. Then you can search on Google with the keyword "LCD Display Module [number of inches] [model number] [number of pins]" to find the right module. For example: 15.6 inch LTN156AT05 40Pin.
Module: shope.ee/5V2YGpw5Cv
To create the frame and cover for the display, I used a 90mm diameter PVC pipe. I heated the pipe and used two ceramic bricks to smooth it. You can use quick-drying glue to connect plastic parts.
Thank you for watching the video. I would love to receive your support by SUBSCRIBE or help me with a cup of coffee so that I can cover the cost of video production and bring you quality content.

The PVC pipe trick is beyond next level.
Put the pipe in the oven to heat it
You can use a pvc sheet instead, they come in sheets
@@johnchud7507i wouldn't do that, pvc can release toxic fumes that are lethal if you are not protecting yourself, instead you could buy a pvc sheet instead
@@johnchud7507 this sounds like a tech tip on tik tok bruh
Everyone talking about the PVC pipe, but nobody's gonna mention the suction knobs as anti-slip feet???? This entire build is full of "HOL UP??" moments and I love it!
I'm 100% sure those were 3d printed.cos aint no way!!
This is a recycle! This is how you can give a second life to any monitor. We would like to organize such a business in every city in the world.
практически стоимость подходит к стоимости нового переносного монитора
Everything is just perfect, nothing superfluous.
Amazing work, at first glance, i thought you had some nicely 3d printed parts, but building it from PBC material is extra impressive!
PVC not PCB
In this cost u can buy secondhand monitor.
@@alokkashyap3970monitor portable?
@@rapneverdie21 All monitors are portable ...
He basically build a "normal" monitor from a laptop screen. If you don't own an old (broken) laptop and you need a portable screen of this size, the second hand market is flooded with extremely cheap 14-17 inch monitors.
@@_MicZ_ well yes and no.
but the monitor in the video is slimmer and more compact when compared to a conventional 14 inch monitor.
Impeccably clean!! I've never seen some professional build as close as this.
Wow, this DIY monitor from an old laptop screen is pure genius! 🔧👨🏻🔧
Amazing work, dude. The use of PVC pipe as the plastic is impressive and it looks great too.
First time seeing a PVC pipe hack like that, plus the use of 2 ceramic tiles as the press, truly impressive, most people would used a 3D printer but material and costs wise, PVC pipe wins every time.
I was very impressed with the enclosure. Well done.
Unbelievable! You have an undeniable engineering talent and golden hands! It's just marvelous how you made a great housing and brackets out of an ordinary sanitary pipe!)))
Something I did not realise I needed but wow I really needed this, great build.
such a professional and aethetic build. Great work mate.
Well... now I don't need to search for any other video on this matter. This is the ONE! Congrats for the AMAZING work!! And thank you for sharing. 👏👏
Idk why but I do really like this. The assembly, the enclosure. I learn something new here.
Your project is giving me many ideas around diy stuff, especially the pvc pipe that you modeled.
Wow, one of the most impressive builds I've seen. I'm tempted to try a simplified version of this on my old iPad 2nd Gen screen. I did it with an old laptop screen before, but didn't put much effort into the housing, although it turned out to be very useful as a secondary monitor when I couldn't afford to buy one.
be careful with ipads tho, apple is know to have proprietary connections on displays and it might be hard to find an decoder for the screen, good luck tho! best of luck
@@atomicul_ Thanks for the heads up. I'm not ready to try this yet; but you might have saved me some time with this info (and some headaches too) 👍
I didn’t think I was going to be so impressed with the finished product, nicely done, love your work 😮 sub 👍
The use of the conduit is awesome!
Excellent work, I allow myself to use the elements that are old and that are still functional, I congratulate your completion.
Que trabalho incrível, parabéns. Ficou perfeito!
Awesome all around! Great idea, filming, music, editing, all of it!
props to your work dude!
a genuinely bang on good piece of work and a testament to the word fabrication! 👍😊👍
This is a really great build its just wild you decided to use a tube for your plastic and then flattened it down
Craziest finishing!!!!!
Loved the work, DIY Perks did spread some inspiration😊
This came out very nice!! Good job.
Nice finishing, the PVC tricks is beyond imagination....
Great video! Thanks so much!
My wife poured a FULL cup of coffee on her LG Gram 17” laptop. I pulled the SSD and RAM and repurposed those. I would love to build a “Picture Frame” out of the screen. Thanks for the info! I think I’m going to give it a go.
such a clean build! awesome job
I would really love to do this myself one day... just for fun. Already getting the tools one at a time. Can't wait to see it done.
Thanks for the motivation
This is soo clean and perfect. Great work bruh
Now that is cool, I got a bunch of old laptops with working screens, guess imma try this out. You just got a new subscriber 💪
Awesome work! Congratulations!
Brilliant. I use that word sparingly, but using heat flattened PVC, CS glue as well as the stand design... Bravo. My only hope is that mine pays proper homage.
Omg,the work is so clean
Great to see Repurposing stuff for another use and not wasting stuff... GREAT Idea. thanks
gorgeous work
wow the results are amazing, more beautiful than factory made ones.
Thank you very much for the interesting and educational video! Beautiful work!
I have a perfect laptop screen in the cupboard. I might do this for something to do. Awesome 😎
That's cool work man!
Great job and impressive work!
Clean, precise, creative and recycled. Good job, thanks! Could you show us if there is a way to reuse the bricked tablet's screen like this method that would be awesome.
Outstanding work
That look sick. So cool!
HERMOSO... DIVINO... BELLO... SIMPLEMENTE FABULOSO
Amazing!! So satisfying Sir!!!
wonderful concept. Keep it up. Its marvelous dear.
by far, this is the most awesome video.. i'm stunned when u made the frame using PVC, it would take patience and skill to make all the parts....
super clean! well done
Круто что пластик находит свое назначение ухорших мастеров. А не просто плавает по океану! Спасибо!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
Lần đầu thấy Việt Nam có người làm content mà original và hay như vậy. Chứ ko như những người khác toàn đi lấy ý tưởng/video nước ngoài về rồi copy hoặc dịch lại! Cố lên bạn! Ủng hộ!
The hardest part of accomplish this task is to be sure about which controller board buy. Unfortunately this tutorial is one of many who does't provide clear instructions. I saw that the screen has some sort of unique code but then the tutorial doesn't even use it as an argument to do the search and the purchased product doesn't have any info like the original code on it. This is what is stopping me from re-using an old Asus K501UX laptop monitor. Anyway great video and great quality 👍🏻
Excellent work.
Amazing work !
straight up mind blowing, subbed!
Simply beautiful and artistic build.
To be honest U just gave me an one hell of an idea for my console to makeeeeee
perfection, amazing work.
Great project, very recursive, congratulations. I propose to do the same project; but with a Raspverry or Orange PI plus type SOC
Who said you need a 3d printer when all you need is a freaking PVC!!! Great job man!!
incredible work.. hatsoff 👌👌✅✅
nice and neat job.
Very neat, and beautiful job🎉 now i need get all those tools first.😮
Bravo, you produced quality workmanship like a fabricated product.
Strong DIY Perks vibes.
Wooow, amazing and very clean job!! I’m impressed
subbed!!!!! ❤
King of DIY
Nice project! I did it with the case of a 27" iMac, one year ago. But this one is really sophisticated in handcraft. Good work! 💚🌿
Sell the laptop and buy a monitor 😂 cuz there’s not a thing portable about this monitor
@@MrTolerant It was an upcycling project because the motherboard gave up one day. Because of the design of the iMac case, I didn't want to throw it away. With an HDMI connection, the device is stationary in the living room and still very flexible.
can we build usb powered portable monitor do you know if it is possible?
Perfect job!
You are awesome man 🎉
Flattening out pvc pipe? Never seen that. Cool trick
Extraordinary 👌🏻
Wow, this is awesome ❤
High level build 🎉
LOVED IT. IA M GOING TO TRY IT SOMETIME.
Qué pasada. Enhorabuena.
Te quedo realmente increíble, gracias por compartir
There are now very ccheap and small adapter bards available that connect to USB-C and get both power and video over the single wire. very neat!
This is very good. I would have built the stand into the back of the monitor. 😊
wow look so clean
Very detailed DIY🎉🎉🎉🎉
Que trabajo genial, te felicito!
Saving anything from becoming e waste is great. Looks like a nice professional project. Well done
Pvc such a great idea!!
Brillante trabajo. wow
i was originally gonna make a monitor out of my old hp laptop lcd panel, but i accidentally broke my chromebook while taking it apart to look inside and noticed that the display module i bought for my hp laptop panel also works with the chromebook lcd panel. The chromebook panel was smaller and had the same resolution so it would be better to use that instead.
I wasn't sure what I should use to build the display housing, and I saw another person on youtube using cardstock or something for their homemade monitor. I personally thought that it would have been too strange/weird to use, so I looked around some more. I also did not want to use wood to build my display housing. I came across your youtube video and noticed that you used PVC pipe, and I might try using that myself. Good video btw. 👍
Edit: Something I noticed is that PVC can release toxic fumes when heated up, so instead of cutting and melting PVC pipe into a sheet, you could but a PVC sheet instead, skipping that part all-together
so clean
Bro, I love you for this
Amazing work bro🤩🤩
Keep growing
excellent ! Brilliant !
excellent desing!
