- The RTX 3060 with 12GB of VRAM is probably one of the strangest releases we've seen from Nvidia in a long time, but strange or not, ASUS's ROG Strix Geforce RTX 3060 OC Edition be lookin' like an absolute SNACK, so let's see what it's all about in my review.

I just traded a pc for one of these…it runs warzone on max settings….in 4K…..at 110 fps in downtown (hardest area to run)
Such a good card, man, should keep you happy for a good few years to come.
@@TheTechTank thank god i bought it and was nervous
@@TheTechTank Entered the Newegg shuffle for this card.
Now that this card is in stock and in Canada for 619.99 I might as well pick one up, I'm in love with the design, plus it will finish my whole Corsair and Asus themed build.
It has to do with the 192 bit memory bus, they had to do either 6gb or 12gb. They decided 6gb would be to little so they went with 12gb, the only other viable option, but the 256 bus on the 3060ti does not have that issue which is why it can have 8gb. thanks for the upload. enjoy the content, keep it up.
Appreciate the input, I've heard other mention the same thing - didn't really think about it, but that would make more sense than the theories I had.
Thats the difference the 192 Bit...
with the quality of your videos you should have 100 times as many subscribers, thank you for your work
Dang, really high praise there, man! I appreciate it!
@@TheTechTank this card lhr or not
@@king_king89 Cards with LHR will have LHR in the product name or description, which this one does not.
I loved this video man, subscribed ! cheers from Brazil!
Thanks man, I really appreciate that!
A couple of weeks back I was lucky enough to place an order on one of those GPU's when it had premiere release in sweden. The card was out of stock in less than 10 minutes and I'm currently having a estimated delivery of 19th of March.
Thanks for the informing video review.
Kind of expected them to go out of stock basically instantly, tbh. Hope you're prepared for the delivery tomorrow then! May the odds be ever in your favor 😂
Tell me about it 😂
This morning the gpu unit was in stock and got sent in the afternoon so its on route 🤑💥😂
Cheers 😁
Congrats, man! Tweet me a pic of it in your rig when it arrives!
@@TheTechTank Will do 🙂
@@TheTechTank and thanks 😎
192 bit bus means they either went 6GB or 12GB. 6GB is fine today but probably the minimum that someone would consider acceptable on a new card. Next year or two, 8GB might be the minimum acceptable so its a bit overkill vs the card performance but I think it benefits the consumer to not cheap out with 6GB. Doesn't mean they won't release a budget 6GB version in future of course. Also AMD are apparently shovelling VRAM on upcoming cards too so; competition.
well just maybe they might age slightly ok with the 12gb vram but yea it is very unnecessary
Maybe nvidia did it foreseeing the vram issue, To force the mid/high end toward future upgrades lol. But also wanted to keep the lower end market from AMD
I think 8gb will become what 6gb is now, faster than people think. Just depends on game progression, which has been desperately stagnant since 60 FPS, Why the last gen consoles looked so awful. The hardware resources to double the FPS over movies and Blu-rays and now quadruple to 120fps, means real progression is halted
Gaming should be moving towards dynamic ballistics and localised damage, Full vehicle deformation, fully destructible environments- Advanced vehicle physics, simulated mechanical failures and repair, Advanced AI, and more AI, Communication with a AI, Advanced dynamic animation- euphoria, Proper Choice based narrative gameplay, etc
(Instead we have 4K 120 FPS on two decades old gameplay mechanics lmfao)
Anyway lol, If you look at the gaming vram allocation it seem to change depending on the limit, if you take a 10-12gb card, some of the latest games are pushing 6.5-7gb, being optimized down to 5-6gb for the 8gb cards. So what's the real number
So Depending on gaming progression (which depends on Pro gamers influencing Console wannabes and the developers then sacrificing substance to meet demands) and other AI video or image software Topaz/Dain/Rife which people like to play with. I think the 8gb TI will depreciate much faster, it's possible the 3070 and 3070ti follow to some effect, they should've been 10-12gb which ever is easier, especially the 3070TI
I think, It will be the 1080ti 2080ti the 3060 full size OC cards and 3080/ti that hole their value
good work! good to see you making content
Thanks so much, man, I'm honored you decided to drop by!
Im able to get this for below msrp would it be a good upgrade from a rog strix 1080 or try to get my hands on a 3070?
Great video!! This card looks beautiful.
Do you think it's a good idea to wait for the 40rtx series, or is it fine to get this one?
It's going to be a while before we see mid-tier 40-series cards come out, they'll start with the expensive stuff first like the 4090 or 4080. If you can wait, then wait, but if you can't then it's still a good card.
@@TheTechTank Thanks! I appreciate your answer 👍🏻
Hey man recently discovered your channel, i enjoy your vids and its good to see such well produced videos
Keep it up
Really appreciate that, man! Definitely will.
I was lucky to have my family find this at Micro Center ^__^ its been a few days and I freakin loving it!
That's awesome! I'm actually surprised that they're still so hard to get a hold of in some regions. Here in South Africa, they seem to be available everywhere (probably because they're pricey AF here, lol).
I was finally lucky to be chosen on the newegg shuffle to grab one of these at MSRP. It's great because im upgrading from a janky 960 and works for me too since I still don't have a 4k monitor.
Thanks for the review and looking forward to seeing what this GPU offers!
I just won one on the shuffle yesterday! It gets here Friday, can’t wait to check it out and see the performance boost from the 980 I’m currently using
Lol I have a 960 too bro, can't wait to upgrade, been waitng for a year.
ME TOO! works great!
Nice, congrats
I won a 3060 twice from newegg shuffle...the first one was an Asus Single Fan and no LED's, I didn't buy it. Then like 2 months later I won the exact one in this review ASUS ROG Strix 3060 with the 3 fans and LED's and bought it...unfortunately it was a package deal with a PSU that I'm not going to use, but I really wanted it...It was for a new build that I had been trying to get a graphics card for since January >.<
Was gaming on a Asus Nitro 5 laptop with a GTX 1650 before this
Wow I am in your same shoes right now crazy
Just got lucky with Neweggs lottery, someone didn't purchase it that won in the first round. Wake up this morning to a supposed second round of selections and the gpu gods gave me this card. Been hunting for a 3080 but happily settling with this until then! Huge upgrade from my gtx 970.
No way! That's super lucky indeed! Let me know how you're liking the performance after you get it set up.
Great review 👍
I tried to get that particular card today, failed miserably of course. It was actually my first attempt at getting a card on launch day though, as i previously only bought older ones which were always in abundance (until lately). ;)
Man that sucks. I've heard the same story so many times now and it still bothers me. Really whish all these companies got their shit together better before they launched these things.
I just bought the Asus Tuf version but I cant find the boost clocks anywhere not even on Asus's website... It comes on Saturday, cant wait
I wouldn't be too worried about the advertised boost clock, it will be in about the same realm as the boost clocks of all of the other 3060 models. Congrats on the card, let me know how you're liking it on Saturday!
So for the BL3 testing... Did you do the benchmark or was there a area where you tested the game?
Back around the time of this video I was relying on built-in benchmarks + my own monitoring/recording, but since then I've transitioned to real gameplay benchmarks wherever possible. The built-in ones aren't always that reliable 😂
@@TheTechTank No problem. Last night I was doing the benchmark with your setting and it look like that 3060 is about 30 frame better on that game then my 1660ti.
The 3060 should be about 30% faster overall, so 30 frames seems a little low. BL3 is one of the most unreliable benchmarks ever though, so that could play a big part.
@@TheTechTank Oh alright, thank you.
for gaming 3060ti is better, but for 3d design i prefer 3060 with 12gb over 3060ti w only 8gb
Which 3d software you work in?
going to buy it this week. great review
Awesome, hope you got a good deal due to the recent price drops!
@@TheTechTank thanks. bought it last Sunday at microcenter for $530 (taxes included) works great so far. much better than my 1650
So I just got one of these on the Newegg shuffle and I'm struggling to see if there really is any downside to the card. Sure the FPS is lower than a 3070, but is that really that bad for average gaming or RPG style gaming? I'm definitely not a competitive gamer and rarely pay FPS anymore
There's nothing wrong in-and-of-itself with the card in a vacuum... it's basically a more modern 1080Ti or 2070 in rasterization with some RTX cores (and that's NOT a bad thing at all)... the problem with the card, especially the ROG STRIX version... is you're PAYING too much for a card of this horse-power (yes, even at retail) compared to other cards in the 30-series lineup. In a perfect world where you can go to the store and buy any 30-series card you want at retail, all the 3060 lineup fares poorly to the 3060Ti and 3070 in price to performance (or FPS per $$) compared to the other cards... it's pricey for what you get, or what you could get for a few dollars more. Now of course we don't live in a perfect world, so you can't just pick and choose the 30-series card of your dreams... so scoring any 30-series card is a feat of its own in today's market... it's hard to say "don't buy that 30-series card at retail" in today's world because you probably don't have other choices.
Thing is, if you could land an EVGA $329 3060 (they do make a model they sell for that at retail), it's be every bit as fast as the $530+ ROG STRIX 3060... just not as blingy. When speaking specifically of the ROG STRIX 3060 you're paying about $200 for bling that doesn't make the card any faster than a plain-jane 3060. The card in-and-of-itself is just fine... it's the pricing of the 3060 that doesn't scream "value", especially compared to other 30-series cards. As an example (in a perfect world) you could buy a no-frills 3070 at MSRP ($499) for less than a ROG STRIX 3060 ($530) and get WAAAAAY better gaming performance. Of course we don't live in a perfect world, so there's that.
@@wolfshanze5980 very well explained
8:50 I wonder if those board cutouts actually make a difference. Like if you covered those cutouts, would it actually increase temperatures 🤔.
I'm pretty sure Gamers Nexus tested that out with the Founders Edition 3080 a couple of months ago, and the fact that I can't really remember what the difference in thermals was tells me it was probably pretty minimal 😂
Hi there, i want to ask can the Rgb colour change in armour crate ? Or is it fix with rainbow color? Thanks.
Hey, yes you can customize the RGB lights with various effects using the Armory Crate app.
Is it possible to change the rgb on this card with an msi b550 tomahawk amd motherboard? I have tried using aura sync but it just says “non aura” when I run it.
Yes, it's possible with any motherboard. Try using the Aura that comes with the ASUS Armory Crate.
12GB VRAM because it is 192 bit. That is the simple answer. The other ones have a higher bit. So there is a give and take between both your comparisons.
Hi how does the I/O work? Can you use all 5 simultaneously?
You can plug up to four displays into the card and run them simultaneously.
i know u will probably not see this but i was just wondering i want to buy this card but it is out of stock on newegg so i checked amazon and it came to 1399 should i get it is it a good price ? also what would i need to run this card
I wouldn't get it for that price, it's still massively more than it should be. Pricing for all cards should be dropping a lot in the coming months. You'd need the system to run in it obviously, and a power supply in the 600W range or more.
any idea on the eth hashrate of this 12gb card? seems it's the only one still available in stores where i live. all others need to be pre ordered hmmm i wonder why there's even no more 2060 without preorder but this TUF-RTX3060-O12G-GAMING still is 699€
ETH is about 25 MH/s because of Nvidia's restrictions, so not a worthwhile mining card at all. The card isn't restricted on Octopus though, and on that it mine's about 45 or something if I remember correctly which still doesn't make it a great card for mining.
@@TheTechTank ok thanks mate, indeed not worth it, my old 1060's still makes 24.23MH
@@venommyotis1 Lol, those cards are little troopers. The best mining card would probably be the 3060 Ti @ 60+ MH/s, but only if you can find it for near MSRP. Which you can't. Hell, you can't even find the thing in stock anywhere regardless of price 😂😭
should i go for 3060 or 3060 ti? with the same price tag this card is expensive for a 3060 when you can get 3060 ti for the same price tag but a different card please help sir
Definitely the 3060 Ti. Even a low-end 3060 Ti is going to kick the crap out of even the best 3060.
Would you recommend the strix version over the xc?
Both are on about the same level to me when it comes to performance, so I wouldn't recommend one over the other. Either go with the cheapest or the best looking since both are great.
this channels awesome!! seriously deserves more subs
Much appreciated!
Dude I love the review but I can’t seem to find this card or any other anywhere, do you tho k you could help me out, I would love and appreciate the help
No one can get their hands on cards right now, unfortunately, at least not for anything close to a reasonable price.
Hey boet.
Where in SA are you situated?
Just this morning I ordered my ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB from Evetech, can't wait, along with other upgrades also from Evetech
Haha, hey bru, I'm in PTA. You're going to love that card, major congrats!
@@TheTechTank I just finished watching your video. Great review👍
@@FlavioCadamuro Really appreciate that, man!
my 980ti just died. i have R10000 for a card. i can get this from rectron for that price. i only play at 1080p. mainly play tarkov. is this a good idea for this card? thanks
Oof, sorry to hear that. RIP 980 Ti. This would be a great upgrade over your old card. You should see about a 50% performance upgrade, perfect for 1080p.
So I would really appreciate if you could respond
With all the current situations, I have found this for a pretty good price near me and I could go for it. But after doing some research some people saying it is not worth it but currently I have a 1050TI so it is an upgrade for me.
I will use it for gaming, 1440p. What do you think? should I get it?
It really depends on whether that "good price" is actually good. The card is definitely "worth it" if it's selling for a good price, but it's also not the best for 1440p gaming, at least not at high-max quality settings as shown in the video. It'll be great for medium to high settings in most games, but in some you're definitely going to have to lower the settings. If you're looking for a great card for 1440p, you should really be looking at the 3060 Ti or better.
In this market if you're sitting on a 1050Ti... ANY 30-series card is a MASSIVE improvement over what you currently have, and in this market, beggars can't be choosers... to say "I want this specific card" usually is just going to lead you to not having a card at all, because it's hard to be picky in this market... passing up on 30-series card-A because you'd rather have 30-series card B probably means you won't have any 30-series card at all.... this is why people are paying $800 for a 1660Ti... people can't get their hands on any 30-series card... either take what you can get and know all of them are a huge upgrade over a 1050Ti, or just wait 6 months to a year for the market to stabilize where you can get the exact card you want.
I have it, but how do i change the rgb of it please ?
You can adjust the lighting using ASUS's software, specifically Aura: rog.asus.com/us/armoury-crate/
So I'm trying to sell my previous rig and it had an RTX 2080 Gaming X Trio (non ti), was offered a swap to an RTX 3060 OC Edition 12GB.
From general Benchmarking I'm seeing about a 20-30FPS difference with the cards, but haven't extensively tested games yet. Was it worth the swap? Would it help to overclock it maybe, or should I try to swap it back with my old one? I have the Warranty booklet with it though, reckon that's worth following up?
Most of me is thinking though to just leave the 3060 there; it might have more luck selling, if people intend to use it for Mining / Editing etc. to make use of the extra VRAM.
Cheers!
As far as I know the 2080 is the faster gaming card, with about a 10% to 15% performance advantage over the 3060 overall. Definitely not worth the swop, IMO. I think the 3060 might be a bit better for ray tracing (I don't have the data to back that up), and the extra VRAM is nice, but the 2080 is still better for raw performance.
You can try to overclock the card to maybe get a 5% (more or less) performance increase, but I don't think you'll be able to match the performance of the 2080.
As for the resell value, I'd have to look at the secondhand market but I imagine the 2080 would still sell for more regardless of the demand from miners and editors etc. At least that's the case in the South African secondhand market.
@@TheTechTank Ok yeah I thought so, thanks so much for the detailed reply!
The swap is already done and don't know if he'll want to re-swap, so will just have to see how it sells as is; definitely will try some overclocking to see what can be achieved, but the PC wasn't selling anyway even with the 2080 :p I listed it at 1250 so bringing down to 1000 next and will see how it goes.
@@Darkness93 No need to stress if you can't trade back for the 2080. The 3060 is still more than good enough to keep you happily gaming for another year or two if you don't end up selling it. That being said, I think you'd be able to sell the 3060 a little easier than the 2080 since a lot of people just want the "newer" card. Best of luck either way!
@@TheTechTank Thanks that was my thinking too; people are after the newer card.
Don't worry about my gaming performance though; I'm selling my old rig as I won the new rig back in April, which has the RTX 3090 for max performance 😎
@@Darkness93 😂 Damn, I wish I could get my hands on a 3090!

Price is an oof, but the 3060 Ti is a beast of a chip.
@@TheTechTank CAD Btw
Waited like 15 months for a new GPU, coming from a 2080 and promised a 3080 - i reckon i'll be satisfied enough during the worlds current state and situation receiving and using this for the future. I'm just really sad that i missed out on the Asus ROG Strix 3080 though, as i could've used it or sold it for double the price now, since supply went down and demand went up, increasing the value to 2k EURO. Thats like a 100% increase or even slightly more. Thank you for the review though, helped me put my mind at ease.
Why did you go from the 2080 to the 3060? As far as I know the 2080 should be around 15% faster... It sucks you had to miss out on a 3080, that would've been a real upgrade from your 2080, or even a nice profit if you were able to snag one and sell it.
@@TheTechTank The fan of the 2080 broke and i was able to get a new card since they werent able to fix it, sad thing was, that they werent able to get me the 3080 replacement card after a whole year + some and had to refund me the money, which only granted me access to a Asus rog strix 3060 gaming. But i guess that beats not having a card at all =P
@@StopherB Man that's rough... just knowing what you should've been able to get makes it so much worse, lol. The 3060 is still a great card though, and should keep you happily gaming until your next upgrade, so that's definitely something.
@@TheTechTank Yea, super disappointed somehow on that front, but waiting for so long, you kinda take anything in, also i like the new cooler and the looks of it. Sounds like you should be looking for the "brace" style GPU support brackets. The ones that don't hook into your PCIe slots and work a little like a car jack.

Just got this for msrp along with a 5600x processor. Looking forward to some 1080p crispness
tell me the ways bro, which card did you get, where did you get it
Not being rude. But you are talking about the asus 3060, isn't it 520 msrp? Why would you want to buy this and be limited to 1080 and mild 1440? I spent 280 more and for a 3080, now I can pretty much do what I want, 1440 4k, ultra wide. Not saying the 3060 is bad, but spending 520 plus tax for it isn't great.
@@Ryan-re1rs yeah you right, for a 3080, it makes sense to spend over 200 more for a manufacture card as it is only a bit worse than the 3090, would not spend over 60 dollars on a msrp card for a 3060 or 3060 ti

How will this do in 1440p gaming. Lets say in BFV and BF6?
I show 1440p benchmarks at 10:33. Can't say about Battlefield as I didn't benchmark BFV, and it'll depend highly on the graphics settings you want to use, but you'd probably get at least 60FPS at Ultra and maybe 144FPS at lower settings if I were to guess.
Can you turn off the lights rgb of the 3060?
Yes sir.
just won this card from newegg for $594 bundle with 550w psu. I'm upgrading from a gtx 1080. Is it worth the buy?

You should be just fine for at least a couple of years. The 3060 should have about the same shelf life as the GTX 1060. That being said, if you can afford to go better, then you'll be able to go even longer before needing to upgrade.

That's about a 35% performance boost coming from the 980 Ti before overclocking. Pretty decent uplift regardless of the memory bus downgrade, if you can get it for a good price.

$300 max. Terrible card.
It's all about the fucking insane market we've got going on right now. If all cards were selling for MSRP, the 3060 in general would be an amazing card for the price, however some of the more premium cards like this are priced close enough to some of the 3060 Ti's to make no sense to buy.

I have the blower style fan graphics card and i'm soon gonna hopefully upgrade to the that RTX 3060. I currently have the RTX 2060 Turbo Super single fan graphics card and i wanna upgrade to a triple fan card instead of a single fan card. My 2060 Turbo Super single fan graphics card came out in somewhere around 2019 and i got it because i figured it is a good awesome card for VR and also normal gaming. Then i did buy it and i love the card. i still use it today in my PC. I've had it for about 3 or 4 years now. I've been thinkin' of upgrading my graphics card size for like a couple months now. i've had the 1050 Ti for many years and then a 2060 for a few years ( i still have the 2060 ) and now i am going to upgrade to the 30 series RTX 3060. ( Also how do you turn on and off RTX On/OFF button setting thing on these graphics cards settings and what softwares is best to use for the cards? My 2060 TURBO Blower fan GPU and my CPU Fan max RPM's is 4,600 RPM at max speeds. My gpu idle rpm is 998 and CPU fan idle speed around like 1,200 RPM. When max speeds it is 4,600 RPM. My GPU runs good like it should be and my CPU fan is also running good like it should be too. Everything is running perfectly normally fine. I'm going for an upgrade on my GPU to the RTX 3060 STRIX in the video
Unless you have an amazing deal lined up, I wouldn't recommend upgrading from the 2060 to 3060. There should only be about a 15-20% or so performance increase overall (minus RTX), and I don't think it'll be worth it. If you can wait for prices to drop then I'd recommend doing that, and then hopefully you'll be able to snag a 3060 Ti which would be a much more worthwhile upgrade.
@@TheTechTank Ok and alright. Thank you for telling me the info and this extra stuff you said too. I also recently subscribed to your channel aswell
On Best Buy it says it has 12gb of gddr6x I’m so confused
Definitely just a typo on their end. It's regular GDDR6.
@@TheTechTank thanks! Btw I agree with the memory sizes being weird, should have been like 3090 24gb,3080 16gb, 3070 12 or 10gb and 3060 8gb, kinda mad that a 3060 has more vram than my 3070 lol
@@Ethnosis Your rtx 3070 with 8 gb is plenty good for even 5 years, the gddrx ram is way better than gddr6
I'm just a little butthurt about it having so much more than my 3070 as well, lol. Regardless of GDDR6 or X.
Hey guys great vid dude. I have a couple of questions! I have a 2060 super 8GB an I/7 8700K six cores 16 GBDDR4/2600 and I play the games 4K most of it Very High or I deactivate AA, AF or RTX and some ultra with a 4K-HDR10 - IPS monitor. So is that GPU better than mine and I don't think the CPU will bottleneck the GPU, I lose a lot because my motherboard has PCI-E 3 and this GPU uses PCI-E4? So could I play more games ultra with this because of the 4 GB more Memorie than mine and better graphics too and play ultra, games like Call of Duty WW2 and better graphics and experience with Cyberpunk I don't say that I will play ultra Cyberpunk but better visuals and better FPS better than my humble 2060Super thanks in advance guys!??
Hey! You shouldn't look at the RTX 3060 for an upgrade over the 2060 Super. There's less than a 10% performance difference between the two overall so not worthwhile IMO. A worthwhile upgrade would start with the 3060 Ti or Radeon RX 6700 XT. Anything lower than that and it's not really an upgrade.
@@TheTechTank yeah pall thanks for the response. I get it now you have a point and I agree I will not buy the 3060 I guess even if it was 4GB more than mine and a lot of GB12 it will play lime min most of the games VH and some game UT. I will save my money for the 3060Ti or a Radeon one. Can you tell me something! Is there a big difference between PCI-E 4 with the PCI-E 3 that my motherboard has I can't afford to change my Motherboard or CPU I might ad some more Ram in the near future or a GPU??
There's almost no performance difference between PCIe 3.0 and 4.0 when it comes to cards in this range. You'd only see a small difference if you're running something like the RTX 3090 or Radeon 6900.
@@TheTechTank thanks for the response! Btw do you think to wait for the 4000 GPU that I guess Nvidia will ship at the end of this year or sooner or sell mine and buy 3060 Ti or this? Does the 12GB 4 more than mine are better? What's better and to be honest I can't afford to buy 3080 or 3090 and do you think my CPU could bottleneck the 4000GPU or those I mention it I really can afford just a new GPU but not the most expensive??
I was worried when I saw the title. I thought shouldn't have bought this card. lol
how much you pay it ?
Hey Bro i need your recommendation
Please guide me which one is best for gaming aorus elite 3060 vs asus rog strix 3060 please tell me i m so confuse
They're both going to be the same for gaming. The only difference is going to be temperatures and aesthetics. I'd go with the one that's cheaper, or the one I think looks better.
Is the RTX 3060 Asus Rog Strix OC V2 also good?
As far as I understand, V2 is just the one with low hash rate (LHR) for mining, other than that there should be no difference.
I have this card but my fans don't work can I get help please
The fans shouldn't start spinning until the card goes to 60 degrees or higher. It's a feature. You can set the fan speed manually if you want, but there's really no need to worry about it.
I love how your just mining in the background 😂😂
😂 Glad someone noticed that.
What do you use to mine?

Always enjoy your reviews way more than those of the "biggies". Cheers from a dirty miner :D (who buys his cards used to not steal from anyone^^)
Haha, appreciate it, man! I'm not a fan of Nvidia trying to decide for people what to do with their own cards, but I guess they have to save face somehow.
@@TheTechTank honestly it is a ploy for "good PR" - their capping only works on one algorithm (ETH) and it mines good as hell on other algos :/ so I fear the worst for stock again. Here in EU it is absolutely insane now, 3080s going for 2000€ on ebay - ugh. And jep it is a miner saying that but I've been doing it since 2013 and buying mine one by one from gamers :) *doing my part* trolo
Oh it's the most transparent attempt to win more positive mindshare I've seen in a very long time, I'm legitimately surprised how many people are actually falling for it. Unfortunately for gamers, miners aren't falling for it, like you explained. I saw the hashrates on other algorithms too and immediately knew miners were still going to buying these things like hot caskes. That being said, I have nothing against legitimate, small-scale miners who get their cards the same way the rest of us do, I take issue with the farms and vendors/suppliers who deal behind the scenes for hundreds of cards at a time.
@@TheTechTank 100% agree with you sir. Same goes for the mining specific cards, for me they are just a try to make more cash and sadly also catch "mining noobies" 🙈 crazy times! Stay safe and awesome, looking forward to your next vid, cheers ⛏️
it looks super good and with a price of 1017 US $ in denmark I am definitely tempted, except that I currently have an asus GF RTX 2070 and it manages fine to play in ultra mode 1920x1080 in BF V. and in BF 2042 , so I think I'll aim for a 3070 next time I need a new GPU
Yeah, definitely avoid the 3060 if you already have the 2070. They should both perform about the same overall, so it wouldn't really be an upgrade. The 3070 on the other hand would be about a 50% performance upgrade, so if you can I'd suggest saving up for that.
@@TheTechTank the times are not to buy gpu now because of the price range they are at now. if it holds water what they predict about the crypto market, there is a reasonable chance that I will be able to buy a 3070er this summer without having to pay the nose of a jet fighter.
@@LarsVad Very true. Hope the predictions are right so you can snag a 3070 for a decent price!
this for 650$ and a colorful igame 3060 for $630 .. whats the best choice? thanks
Best choice? Strix. Though to be fair I've never used a Colorful card before so they might be pretty good.

I love the intro cuz its so funny
Is this a good gpu for my first pc build 530 usd?
It's an amazing card for a first build, and $530 is suspiciously cheap since they're selling for over 1K new...
@@TheTechTank They are consistently that price at my local Microcenter. I have a 2060 and I'm torn right now between upgrading now, wait for the 3060ti (about $650 usd), or continue to wait for Intel to do it's thing and create more competition/lower prices.
@@KwamtumPshX I don't think going from the 2060 to the 3060 would be worth it. It's about a 20% performance increase. The 3060 Ti is more like 50% or so and definitely more worthwhile. That being said, if you're fine with the performance you have right now, there's no harm in waiting a little longer before pulling the trigger on a new card.
Can it supporto monitor 4k resolusion?
Yes.
Bought one about 3 months ago just got it today :)
Congrats, it's one hell of a card!
I got one of this card, it is awesome.
Nvidia have done a lot of slapping recently treating the gaming community with contempt almost...
It's been a lot longer than "recently," I can assure you, lol. Though to be fair most tech companies do that - they're here to make money, not friends.
Anyone remember the 3.5 gb GTX 970. Yeah the slapping has been real for a hot minute now.
Not impressed. 3060 Ti beats it by far. It should have been called a 3050 because it's clearly not in the 60 class of this gen of cards. The 12GB of VRAM is also sketchy. Vram is used in a framebuffer to stream assets. Higher resolutions need a bigger framebuffer, need more VRAM. There is no scenario possible where this card will ever be able to access more than 10. It's simply a feature to entice uninformed gamers, and to compete with any future AMD release. I'm also not seeing a 2070 level of performance, but rather 2060s. It would be ok for anyone with a 1060 or less, but if you already have a 2060 don't bother.
Yip, the 12GB is purely a marketing ploy because of AMD's cards and all of their VRAM. I'm not particularly impressed by the 3060 as I think its performance is a little too far off from the 3060 Ti to be considered in the same class. That being said, if we were in some magical world where cards were selling for MSRP the 3060 would present a tremendous value until the 6700 cards drop probably next month.
That's one tough card. Unfortunately the market is absolutely ridiculous now. 😥
It's an ever more depressing situation, honestly.
@@TheTechTank I finally upgraded my first PC I built 10 years ago and guess what my GTX 550 TI is running in the new machine because of this crap. Imagine a 10 core 32GB RAM and 2GB video card haha

The asus tuf one is also very chilly
I'm in love with the TUF cards they brought to the table with this generation. I'd actually happily have the TUF instead of any of the other models, lol.
I think my man is casually mining in the background!
😂 Keen eye! These new 30-series cards are expensive, gotta get the price down somehow!
slow down the graphs like i didnt even have time to look them over. please keep them up for 6-8sec each would make your video much better. thanks
I appreciate your input, and the graphs definitely aren't on screen as long as I'd like them to be. However, it's a necessary evil. The graphs need to fit the pace of the script so that there are no gaps, and often there just isn't all that much to be said about a certain set of graphs.
I and a lot of other people aren't fans of graph slideshows with silence/background music to accompany them. It feels a little disconnected, so I'd rather show the graphs while talking about the results whenever possible. I'd suggest pausing the video if you have trouble keeping up, but I'm guessing that's not a solution for you.
You may be onto something there. The up coming ( yet still unobtainable ) 3070 Ti and 3080 Ti will be rocking more memory than the 3060 lol. Cannot WAIT! To not be able to buy those too heh.

Unfortunately didn't have quite enough time for that - these review sample cards need to go to the next reviewer pretty dang quick. Hopefully will have more time with the next 3060 I get my hands on!
Its a sales pitch bro and you just got hooked , all 12 gigs are not used the bus speed will not let it get used the way it needs to be. . its garbage unless you can get it for the 329.00 MSRP
12GB is stupid and makes no sense on this card. I explained that very thoroughly. However the choice was most likely 6GB or 12GB, and having seen some games use a little more than 7GB in some of my benchmarks, I'd rather have the 12. I mean, I'd much rather have 8GB with a wider bus on this card, and the cards higher up in the stack each going up by 2GB or more, but that was never going to happen.

Shaeffer you may have to buy a pre-built at present to have a reliable way of getting a RTX 3000 series card. I did, and they are still in stock at a few online PC sites. I'm getting a new ASUS RTX 3060 TUF OC and my wife gets a new Intel build lol. 175W during max load, so just depends on what you consider "power hungry".

Yeah, sorry about that, lol. I don't like benchmarks with silence or just background music going on, so I have to pack them in while I'm speaking somehow 😅 Will try to space them out more in the next video!
