I made a 6’8 point center and I been having fun breaking nba records. Yesterday my WiFi kept cutting out for like 3 seconds at a time. I was trying to break the rebounding record so I was playing 10 minute quarters and every time the WiFi cut out it closed app and I had to start over. Had to play against the wizards 3 times. It’s criminal you need to be connected to 2k servers to play a career mode
At 43 years old, I find it fascinating that I am still completely immersed in playing 2k. My journey started long ago with NBA Live, then progressed to NBA 2k on the Sega Dreamcast, and my love for the game remains strong. Although I derive pleasure from it, my partner is not thrilled about the significant time I dedicate to gaming. Currently, the gameplay can be quite monotonous, but I still engage in recreational and competitive online matches. I am eagerly anticipating improvements and increased rewards in 2k25.
I'm the same age with the same exact story 😂. Been on it since dreamcast and I was a 2k guy before everyone else. But this is where we're different. I gave up on 2k this year bc of the grind and money I actually put into the game with micro transactions. No way we should put so much money into a game each year just to lose all of it a year and it's definitely gone in 2yrs. Just can't be life of a basketball game

I think people get dry and dead confused. This game is definitely dry but not dead. Its not going to be dead because there are no other NBA simulation games on the market. Not to mention the NBA playoffs just begun.

Here my take on it; As soon I as realized that 2k kept messing with the ‘shot visual cue’ on the player build system, causing so many shot changes leading to shot misses; Every week reset (Art of Shooting) I discovered that must go back to the Lab to change or adjust my jumpshot, to avoid missing wide open jumpers. N That’s when I decided to put down my controller😔💯 It’s too much toil and labor for me, with 2k & how they decide to govern 2K24 ‘match making’ in ‘mycareer rec center’. How ironic seeing that I also work a 9-5.🤭 Listen bro I’m not crying about not being as competitive or good enough at the game, just know base on the topic of discussion, the prove is in the pudding.💯
Facts bro this game is dead because the traffic drops off tremendously. The target audience makes the game lit and alive. Casual players are gonna play regardless that’s with any game. I don’t see how people don’t see this game as dead when Red Dead 2 online is dead and untouched for over a year now but the lobbies are always full.
2K becoming like GTA where they want it to be your full time job. Have to do practice daily or my badges will drop

Gta is at least exploitable with fun glitches and it's one game 2k on the other hand releases damn near the same game every year with small changes and deletes a previous 2k that people grinded hours of progress on and they know most will buy a new one and repeat the cycle because most people wanna play online with friends or with newer roster they exploit our love for basketball that's why I've turned to live 19 because it's a different experience and after 5 years the servers are still up unlike 2k who shutdown after 2 and a half years due to greed

Playing online is horrible this year because of badge regression, people are not passing and taking bad shots to try to keep their badges.
They been doing that but it makes it worst. Can’t play with randoms at All, I only play with My Brother Or My Homies that I Know Know.. tryna play with Randoms, You are never being the ball, they Gonna Jack Up Bad shots and or lose the ball before they pass it
I highly doubt people are doing that to keep their badges. They are just selfish and would be doing the same stuff without badge regression.
I love the REC but the randoms have to get better its basketball they don't play as a team it's all about themselves it's sad 😢
The micro transactions makes the game unbearable for the casual player who has 1 build. The badge floor setters only benefit sweat players who have multiple builds

I was running in Random REC this morning with some ballers. We won like 5 in a row and I had to jump off. The teams we were playing were playing as a team too. I think you got to have someone set the example for both teams early. I created a point the other day and have had my best experiences in Rec by far the last few days. I wanted to show people that you can play without being selfish off the rip. I take the ball down the floor and throw a few dimes and people follow suit. If you got someone just chucking shots everyone gonna chuck shots when they get the ball. I also play crazy hustle on defense. Hands always up. Always on my man. People follow that lead bro. Set the example.

The thing that sucks is playing mycareer is horrible and gameplay sliders are the WORST. But once i tried my eras and adjusted the sliders the gameplay is amazing now which tells me 2k sets the sliders to create an artificially frustrating and boring mycareer experience to force you online to spend money

It’s 100% the community fault!!!! They want to find exploits and trying to win the most meta way as possible. That’s what’s wrong with the community
I jump on everyday for a lil bit even if it’s just to spin the rise totem and it looks pretty packed to me every time. Also, theater be packed, rec be packed, and the parks seem like the only place that has the fewest players when I visit them.
Until we stand up to them it’s always gonna be like this point blank period.

People need to try different stuff. Myleague or mynba mode offers so much customization and you can make sliders and gameplay to your liking and drafts

If you’re trying to find a work around for a game because what you usually play isn’t fun no more plus it forces you spend money or months on end of your time to even play online you need to play another game.
I've tried e everything in 2k.. I only rock with play now online, and mycareer..I do not touch the city very often. I never leveled above 3 in a season bc that's not how I wanna level up . I hate the park/rec/theater. And the cpu park games are ok, but do not affect your season grind. it's stupid. Whatever mode you play should contribute to your season grind.
i retired when they made the contract changes..wont touch that game again...life is great without it
I’m 34 I been playing since Iverson on the Dreamcast. I could break it down perfectly but to keep it short they cater to lil kids instead of the kids that grew up playing this game who are grown now..
It is truly remarkable to me at 43-year-old still engrossed in playing 2k. It began way back with NBA Live, then continued on Sega Dreamcast with NBA 2k, and the passion endures. Despite the enjoyment, the spouse is not pleased with the amount of time spent on the game.

And the audience they cater to be draining their parents' bank account, who initially played the first 2k and now sit disappointed in the predatory practices.

Co-op MyCareer with a friend in a “dynamic duo” mode would be a great addition. Both end up on the same team whether by trade, UFA, or maybe an option to just play against a friend and their build vs their team? Idk utilizing MyCareer story more seems like a good option for a laid back time while retaining your fan base.
I play pro am with my friends but if there not on I run theater no squads , the thing that’s hard is finding randoms who don’t sell or just give up if you miss the first shot

Historically I have mostly played offline franchise. This year i am addicted to online MP. Play now online could potentially be my favorite game mode if not for the lag that i deal with. I just cant control all 5 players as quickly as i need to because of the lag.
They finally released a game with absolutely no actual way to defend consistently, takes away from the sim experience all together.
I’m a great defender even without spamming the steal button or constantly jumping for blocks, I can keep almost anybody from scoring consistently, but I do get what you’re say cause most ppl playing have horrible defensive.
@@officialnoquestion I’ve learned a lot playing offline against HOF sliders, but there are somethings that the CPU just spams and takes advantage of to stay competitive against you no matter what. You ever go around a set pick….get open and can’t move? Crazy what they stoop down to doing.
@@chadcas ahh yea, HOF on 2K24 is basically a scam, I play HOF on every 2K and this yr is by far the most designed to be some pure bullshit. It felt the most realistic in previous yrs but this yr is the most unrealistic it’s ever been, also we found out that they tweaked the sliders to give you a huge disadvantage this yr, and it’s probably to try and get ppl to buy boosts and Gatorade, sick pathetic greedy shit man.

This is the most defensive game 2k has ever made, even the bad defenders are average this year. If your still somehow a bad defender that’s on u.
I used to be heavy on playing play now and my team back on 19-22 but 23 and 24 I enjoyed my my player even more when I started playing proam
i love mygm or myleague developing teams and players. The customization in there is crazy but could be better if it was a focused game mode
I started really enjoying REC when I stopped creating new builds, if you have 2-3 that are 99 or 92 overall you can have fun... just even being good at the game leveling until 80~ you are 100% at the mercy of your team mates of it's a fun experience.
I will shameless say I have over 1k hours in 24 and 9 builds with zero money spent.
I remember when 2k started nerfing the shot meters and shooting in general back in 2k15 because of online players complaining. They did it in 2k16, 17, 18, and for me, they finally broke shooting in 2k19. Since then shooting has been trash offline. I get the issue online, but I shouldn't have to buy different jump shots and max out on badges to be able to shoot in MyCareer. In 2k14 to 2k17, you just had to get your player to around 70 or so mid-range to have fun, and it wasn't such a grind to do it. Plus, you didn't have to have badges to do everything in the game. Online killed 2k. People were still willing to play MyCareer offline after they removed the story mode in 2k18 so in 2k20 they made it so you can even play MyCareer offline. That's why so many people are turning to older modded versions of 2k on PC.
I’m half and half on 2k as a whole… I tried different modes and immediately felt different than just hopping in REC with randoms. PlayNOW online is pretty consistent… I want to do MyGM online with the old crew that used to run a league and see if I’d still have fun drafting a fantasy squad and having admins give you incentives for just playing the game.
I will admit taking a break from Park/Rec and just play the game for fun, no strings attached is less stressful and you might actually find that the game itself isn’t so bad if the incentives were better and weren’t as costly
For me, I always played my GM. It used to like my player but you controlled the whole team. It used to have cutscenes and upgrades and stuff like that. Then a few years ago they took it all away in favor of forcing us to play My career and my team. I'm a huge fan of yours Keep up the good work!

I still enjoy the game, but it's due to me not being able to play as much as previous games, so when it I do play it still feels fresh. I am lucky that every time I do play I have at least three people with me, so I don't have to deal with randoms.
IMO the big issues for me is the terrible servers delays and the gymnastics it takes to just be consistent.
On top of that I don’t think the community is dead per say I think it is TOXIC and nearly impossible for newer players to hop into my player and enjoy playing around the park without having a 99% W/L and friends who constantly play.
My biggest issue w 2k24 is GAMEPLAY

Almost exclusively play 5v5 rec/proam. I have some fun, cause I only play w friends. But too many gameplay issues. This year's builder limitations, everyone in proam end up on same builds, same animations, same offense.
I think the My career mode is great. It just needs more rewards for completing certain missions.
I do mostly the Rec yeah, we also play PLAY NOW mode & franchise mode; which is fire 😊
The REC & park are inconsistent and they continuously mess with the shooting and what your badges mean

They need to stop forcing us to play with other people online. I just want to focus solely on mycareer mode. They need to make it fully immersive fully customizable. They make us pay so much but limit what we can do.

Some people probably run into more hackers than others just by chance. I play a game called Shinobi Strikers and my cousin swears he only runs into modders when he plays with me.
Make starting 5 the new rec. the immersion in an nba game is nice. And having nba players to play as ai teammates is nice. It also makes use of the nba license that 2k pays so much for.
Yep, I've been a hard 2k player since 2k15! This year, I got a ps5 a month after 2k24 dropped! I don't even play this game like I used to! Maybe 1 rec a game or every other couple days and used to play this game religiously!

I agree with some of your points.. but you def gotta try myteam and play now.. if you og 2k player we started off playing 5v5 team control... exploring past 2k's i also discovered all star team up which was elite and does 2k24 have that feature?.. what i hate is the ball hogging randoms that play in the rec.. players that quit in rec after a 6 point deficit.. bad team matchmaking in the rec.. high rep levels being matched with low rep level.... also in my team ai teammates be dumb asl.. i can go on but i spare the comment space 😅

Park used to be where it's at but if you need boost (I use 2x boosts depending on build) but after a win and covering your boosts you left with 100vc 😂😂 so rec makes sense. Almost better off playing my career but even that's not as fun as it use to be when they had all the cut scenes and a real story

I just play NBA games in MyCareer and sometimes the NOC Street Games. Without having friends who play the game, I literally have no reason to play anything else that is in my opinion worth my while.
Play now is LIT my guy. Especially when cheddar on the line lol.
As a rec warrior, 2k has to do better. First, if I make a 6'7 SF stop putting me at the 4. I have no rebound, or very little. It makes no sense that one team no a 6'7 and 6'8 for the PF and C, then the other team has 6'10 and 7'0 for PF and C. Second, finding a game shouldn't take so long. Third, while the no squad and squad is fine, there should never be an AI on the squad team. Throw in a random from the none squad.
As a mycareer player. I don't play online I mainly play against the CPU. I like chasing the goat but other than that. I don't play all the time. I have a family and it takes to much time and grinding to be good at a game im trying to play pro difficulty on.
I'm a casual player. I don't want to lose vc playing on lower difficulties but I used to play on superstar now I can't

Only thing I like about 2k is the deep customization for rosters and 2kshare with the community. All star team up was my favorite mode and it use to let you solo queue quick and easy. That gem was removed so people wouldn't be sidetracked and jump into mycareer and myteam instead

I sold my copy months ago. I don't like pay walls for features that should be free. We had MJ's dunk package for free up until now. Even at a low bar to unlock, it forces me to join an online group in the hopes I feel to obligated to keep playing with. And if my overall doesn't match with theirs, I feel peer pressured to spend with or without the squads saying anything. I wish it was different, but if it is what it is then I'm not coming back unless they give me something worth the headache.

Whenever I hear that the game is dead, I get terrified and run to the rec and then breathe a sigh of relief when I be load into a game. Game is definitely not dead. There’s always people on and always somebody to run with. I think peoples issue is the quality of the games that you get. That’s a community issue not a 2k issue.
I used to play 2k from release date until the following summer. However, this year I stopped playing in late October. They now base it so much on micro transactions that I felt like I was being scammed every time I played

Being my first year on myteam. It started out pretty fun until maybe last 3 or so weeks .of recently it seems like all the money spent players buying the best cards runs us casuals away from the multi-player modes. I play out of obligation now not because it's fun. I blame micro transactions

I’ve been playing 2k since 2k9 and I’m not gone lie I’ve been buying every last one since then people hated 18 but I loved all of them I even tried exploring into myteam this year I be having a good time u til I get a player that want me to play against they’re cpu galaxy opal players and it takes the fun out of that mode because if I wanted to play against the computer I’d do that off line on hall of fame! Which is why I only play park

I only been playing nba games in my career for years, got bored this year and decided to start playing online in rec and it’s pure hell. It’s just cheese overload and I don’t want to cheese. I never have but you have to in random rec. Anyway it’s made me feel like it won’t be a yearly purchase anymore because I’m not doing the rec stuff again, so I’ll wait until I want to play nba games again or I’m retired for good.
I only play WNBA my career, NBA season mode and wnba season.I love playing these modes and never play the male my Career or myteam because its not fun to me.I feel like you should play what interests you but its not bad to try other game modes.Plus when you play nba or wnba season mode you can go through the nba draft aftet playing the full season and you have draft picks all the way from 2024 until 2028 draft so nba mode isnt that boring especially playing on the nextgen console ps5 where the graphics are way better than on the ps4

We not the youth anymore. I remember talking about how san Andreas is the goat and was so shocked when my co worker said he never played. Even more shocked that GTA V was his first GTA. It's the same issue within the UFC community. We haven't had a good UFC game since thq gave up da license but the new generation will never understand how bad ea UFC is because they missed the thq experience.
2k 2024 please let us gamers sell our myplayers back in the game if we don't need or use them anymore $75 for a rebuild is crazy...should be able to sell mess up myplayers builds back for something!
I’m on current gen and my player is fun as hell. I like the process of improving my build over the seasons and the storylines and the gear and endorsements. Next gen would be better ofcorse but tbt I ain’t ballin like that I’m only drop pin that ps5 $$$ on my family

Seasons make it dry… bad rewards then on top of that bad rewards. Park is not worth playing because the rep and cost vs boost lost. So ur forced to play rec to lvl up faster for the rewards that are vital to ur player… I just think the season aspect has bottleneck players into a mode they really don’t like anyway. I love the park over rec. but park is so sweaty now it’s crazy. Also u have to make a completely different build for park to compete. I just wish they took seasons out and fire whoever came up with this badge system losing having badges etc etc…

I'm going to give it to you like this bro, I judge games on gameplay and fun factor and 2k's fun factor has gone down. The first thing I do when I get a new 2k game is to jump into a Play Now game and see what the controls and gameplay feel like. Then I hop into practice mode and play with the jump shot and shot meters and tweak what I need to. Then I jump into MyCareer and MyLeague and see what's new. But if gameplay sucks it kills everything else. All the modes can be there, all the updated rosters and cyber faces, but that means nothing if the game isn't fun for me. The AI, shooting, dribbling, and overall gameplay are geared toward the online modes, so very little is done to make the single-player offline experience feel good. The return of Jodan and Kobe modes did help but I hate the grind and greed of MyCareer locking almost everything behind a paywall. Xbox 360/ PS3 era allowed you to enjoy the game YOUR way and not have to bother with modes you didn't like. Nowadays you're forced to grind forever or spend money just to enjoy the single-player experience.
2k23 and 24 are better than 2k18 - 22, but still miles behind last-gen. I haven't uninstalled 2k15 or 2k17 on my PC even though I have owned every 2k since then except 2k18.

I play rec and pro-am 3v3 with my friends, if my friends aren’t playing I just won’t play
I think it’s good if play how want and style of play .. if think shooting hard make driving build if want be a defense mindset be that I try make build to do everything and some how when time to win or lose it’s always a weak side to everyone build. Yeah I made a PG with a 92 speed w ball and 91 speed for hall of fame speed booster i ave like 10 pts a game in park fro. Sticky being too fast .. two moves I'm to the basket and making a layup and i hit my open threes. Speed kills on this game.
When BadgePlug said the game sold a lot of copies, it's because 2K will have the game on sale for $10-20 dollars sometimes maybe even cheaper. Imagine buying the game for $100 when later on in the year they sell it for cheap in the Playstation store!
I think park died cus of the city, back then we just was in the park, now there’s 50 courts so playing park your waiting 10 min each game easily

Honestly tbh I started to play MyTeam allot more now, every year I play MyTeam maybe like once or twice per season now I been getting on and just going to MyTeam not MyCareer automatically .
I dnt like tht u need good internet to play if not most of ur three shots gonna miss nd when they realize they just play the paint 😒
