I am guilty of that. As I did not play 21 or 22, but I did pre-order 23 and 24, and now after 24 which I am really good at the ppl around me is not most of them I play with or not buying the game anymore so this is my last 2k. GrayZone is very addictive right now 🤣🤣🤣🤣 plus NCAA is coming out

I stood 10 toes solid since the 2k18 bull crap by only getting the game when it hitz for free after like 5-10 updates…. This 2k with all of the cappin that I absolutely knew was going on and I bit at the bait and got the game a day after it dropped and didn’t spend no money after my first build and I ended up biting the bait again and buying vc a few times and wishing I never did…. 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️

The 2K24 experience has truly changed my perspective towards 2K as a developer in regard to this franchise moving forward. It has done nothing but underwhelm and I don’t think I’ve ever been so disappointed with NBA 2K as a brand. My support for this game will no longer be the same. No more day one release purchases, no more extra money to buy VC, and if I do come around to getting it, it’ll either have to be on a major sale at $20, or become an addition to PlayStation Plus/Xbox GamePass. Whichever comes first. This time around, 2K has burned too many bridges. People are done waiting for the extraordinary we haven’t received since 2K14. And, it’s looking like myself included -_-

If I'm being honest. The worst thing about NBA 2k franchise is the people. My 8 year old son loves basketball. He wanted to build a player like dad. He's better than a lot of people I see but... I spent a ton to let him build a player. He worked to get his player to 95 overall. He tries his best to keep up in street and rec. Then he is getting some crazy disrespectful messages because he doesn't play 12 hours a day. It's the community, not the game. People are seriously crazy with video games. He's done, and I'm done.

The problem is NBA 2k is animation based instead of attribute based. The animation should only mean how the player moves but not how fast or effective the player moves.

But you need attributes to unlock the animations though, which means it’s technically attribute based. 😂
Animations don't matter because your attributes don't matter. if you have a 99 mid and 3pt shot you should be able to green with any jump shot no matter how it looks.

I don't think the reoccurring theme of "same dribble moves" is fully 2Ks fault. There's a lot of variety and usefulness in majority of the animations. It's because most people play the same and look for the "fastest" "easiest" moves to compliment their preferred style (typically meta). I don't think it's because other moves are useless, I think it's because people can't put them to use.
I halfway agree with this statement Blaq Kobra. Yes, most of the player base plays the same (Murry btb/J wall stepback etc)... but a lot of the moves on 2k this year just aren't executed correctly, and they do make your player slower, or they don't go smooth together when you're trying to combo up... Even when it comes to scoring moves like the step back jumper... some of the animations and just bad and unusable... Many crossover animations bounce off the defender's foot... Even most of the dribble styles suck compared to the ones that work best in an online game... What I will say is that there are a lot of half good animations meaning one animation in the sequence may be good on one side of the court or in one specific situation, but the other half of the same animation can be completely unusable to the point where you have to rely on meta sometimes to enjoy your experience...
(For example I think KD dribble style is good, but because the builder is strict it is impossible to make a 6'9 build with anything higher than bronze spd booster, blow by, hyper drive etc, so that feels much different when you use KD in play now, myteam or just a different mode in general)
The reward system has to be VC 🤷♂️ There is no other way around it. Builds aren't "expensive".... The VC in return per game is as minimal as you can get. There is not more 2hrs or 2x VC anymore... Where the hell are we supposed to make our VC to make builds, buy clothing and accessories 🤷♂️ makes no sense

@@seanh8095 definitely both. minimal return and higher cost. 255k for a lvl 90 build and major grind or buy system. hell, you used to be able to get a ton of vc for doing the milestone markers in the city, now you get a few quests. used to be 80k in 2k17 to hit 90. game is set up for greed and to incentivize buying vc. would have to grind nearly three seasons just to hit 90 on mycareer or be undefeated on rec through 250+ games.
Only way ya meant to make vc is spend that real🤑🤑🤑. 🖕2k forever!

@@Merked. I was there bro, when u had to earn your park badges. That was the glory years. Defense was good at the start of 2k, but they fucked up the contest system. The animations react to each other instead of to your controller. It's crazy

I’ve been saying this for yearssss!!! They add a ton of animations but there’s only 2/3 great moves that the community rotates. The same with call of duty.
At least every update call of duty has a new meta, 2k doesn’t change

They should go back to 2k22 animation effects every sig size up and every sig escape were so good. You could use so many different size ups it made dribbling fun

Your animation perspective was a good take
The animation should just be that an animation and the ATTRIBUTES should be what makes dribble moves faster to execute, jump shots should have a certain timing but they ALL should be viable to use
First year all my friends actually stopped playing 2k at the same time even the ones who stayed up all day and all night on 2k for years and it’s crazy to me‼️💯

They definitely kicked the my team community in the face. From what they said online those guys were the true bread winners for 2k. They spend thousands in every game.
Try equipping new animations and jumpers. Weird how different things fit different playstyles and builds.
One of the most broken things I learned about 2k was the gym and Gatorade boost. Gatorade boost is LITERALLY PAY TO WIN, the 25% and 20% boost for each Gatorade is crazy and shouldn’t be in the game at all. You cannot compete without Gatorade boost even in the casual theater.

I went back to 2k16 fully after after hall of fame was waaaaaaay op on 23 my build bricking green's without the meter.
I stopped playing 2k ball in 2020 . I just foresaw the play shift in game play and iv been playing sence 2014 .
Another problem is your attributes don't start mattering until you get into the mid 60s

Why does 2k servers seem to NEVER WORK for my franchises?? I’ve deleted 3 franchise seasons because they just stopped connecting to the servers!
As long as there continues to be no competition to rival 2K, they can continuously put out the same thing slowly, but surely they’re creating a monopolization of it. What they need to slow down is everything that you guys just said I agree with batch plug. I agree with all city, I think should just be out of the question. But Titan creators will figure out a way to cheat that what they should send out maybe something I agree that maybe Microsoft should do some type of patch update that reads non-official licensed Xbox stuff and slow down on the onboard stealing even the most balmiest player in the NBA doesn’t get the ball taken from them that easily, stop it. It’s one thing to stay in front of a man, but it’s another thing to steal the ball from them.
Gotta fix delay too bro. Upgrade servers. Too much foolishness go on every year in a game like this
The only thing that that I mainly have issues with our micro transactions and how much VC it cost to make a build. I don’t have time to play 4 to 8 hours a day to put no money into a build nor is it fun to play my career all day it just gets boring. I like being able to play online. There is a lot of other issues obviously but mainly for me it’s just how expensive everything is. It’s like GTA T-shirt cost $20,000.

The city empty space 2k considers that potential ad space and when I asked a myteam dev why no women they said it's almost impossible to balance bc of the in-game physics pertaining to height weight speed strength etc. and resulting collisions
They need a report system in game to get rid of the selling that kills the game
🤔 wonder if they could add a more accurate way of having higher level players playing against higher level players besides player rating which can be bought or from playing badly but playing alot.... my career heroes do not translate in online competition those wild shots and running offense thru them is not rec,park,pro-am etc...
I’ve been telling people this since season 2 now look after just viewing and playing the game for so long u can just see from the game play and just the mechanics alone they lowered the requirements for certain attributes they thought catering to casual was going to make them more money when in fact they lost a decent amount of money 💯💪🏾

I hate to say it but it was more fun to play 2k22 under real player %. Scoring was based off my ratings and badges. I didn’t shoot the lights out because close outs mattered. But to his point, I got to pick animations that I wanted to see my player use. And RP% was more fluid and authentic feeling true to real basketball.
Can we just play our positions in REC?!? Tired playing Center with my PF or PG with my SF.
I purchased every 2k since 2k20 . I hated this year's game so much I haven't played since the 1st season. It was so bad I don't miss it AT ALL! Hope next year is better cause I use to love playing 2k

Drives me nuts that I can't even get my team logo jumpshot animation because I have to pray that I get it from my daily spin. Can't even get through the season grind or I can't even buy it🤦Very smart 2K. I have 50 watches that I'm never going use🤦 can I fully enjoy the game without these dumb restrictions. Make items more accessible. I'm really waiting next year before purchasing to see if they made changes. If not I'm done done💯

2k animations will be created equally. That shot timing will be based off player skills and not NBA stats. That random rec sellers will always be matched with random rec sellers and they take turns standing in the paint and out of bounds NEVER to succeed at the game.
Honestly and sadly, there are so many problems with the game itself and the community. Im an old head daily rec player and it's really tough to have fun even with more than two or three people to play with, Squad wise. Sometimes I love being a random because I don't have problems passing the ball but, there's just too much greed in the game. Horrible teammates and flat out terrible people bad just ruined it for those who love it

Number 6 we need unlimited builds and an ability to remake a build atleast once with all its stats vc returned. Number 7 we dont need a banning system in place banning people for leaving games, most players love having ai players on their team, so who ever asked for that bs punishment

Sup city. It’s not the community fault, it’s 2k limiting builds,attributes and jump shots. Literally there is 3 to 4 trending animations for all positions that get nerfed every season update.
(Things i want in nba 2k25) my opinion
1 no jumpshot meter for pro am and stage - i dont play either of those so i don't really have a opinion on that
2 cheaper builds- this is never gonna happen because the player base is way to comfortable with spending alot of money on this game making build after build after build and buying packs in my team because of the community this won't be a thing
3 no city / smaller city - i can see this happening but it may ruffle some feathers i personally think they should go the nba live route put everything neatly on one screen if i wanna play rec i can select the tab if i wanna play something else same thing give us a queue for park pro am and rec to give the best team depending of our team grade and position for rec and the park is more arcade classy 2k14 basketball so we can just queue up with anyone like normal
4 female my player - there is no real market for that nba live tried it but most people was making male characters same thing with 2k they tried to do a little something i think it was in 2k16 but no one really cared for it even now in 2k24 there not alot of people interested in playing the wnba side of the game i personally there resources could be used for something better like flushing out alot of these useless badges and make jumpshots more consistent also bringing in bump steal

Okay, so there's also something else you didn't touch on that 2K is preying on.
There have been studies done for video gaming, basically proving that the more fulfilling an experience is, the less you are engaged with it. Its easier to put down-- compared to something that frustrates you from time to time. So 2K (not just them) has programmed literal inefficiencies into their system. Momentum? Games where your shot is off? Terrible sequences of animations? Limiting builds? Inflation within VC and attribute points?
They want you thinking you're doing something wrong, so you spend more time on the game, because the longer you spend on the game, the more likely you are to spend money on VC. Whether that be for boosts, MT points, attributes, or whatever. They want you insecure and upset, so you'll be more engaged and spend more.
Havent played 2k in almost two weeks, I'm really kinda over the game at this point. Started playing other games and I'm having way more fun! The thing that broke the camels back for me was I quit a game and I was penalized. Then I played again later and my son hit the xbox button, then I go back into the game and they banned me for 130 minutes. Yeah I'm not doing that, I'm not paying for a game and spending money on it and then you ban me b/c I quit a game yet they cant come of with legitimate match making. 2k can suck one b/c this is my last year playing this bullshit.

I’m all for female myplayers but how would it work in terms of physicality? Wouldn’t the female players be at a disadvantage if 2k restricts their build because they’re females? They wouldn’t have the same athleticism as the males so why would they want to play against them? Not saying they can’t but if they made them able to dunk/posterize and all that then people will complain about realism 😂
I dont care about meta dribble moves. But theres no way jumpshots should have bigger green windows. Without something for the casual player to measure it right there in the jump shot creator.
