      I'm still trying to figure out why they go from the Joey won't be with Ursula because he has feelings for Phoebe episode and never follow it up be up to it there is a running How you doin' joke about how he always gets to her. Out of everyone they played with every match making but the two that obviously fit well together. Phoebe was Ross' bully who almost slept with him before she became roommates with the other girls who has abandonment issues but Joey is the fun guy whom Chandler lucked into as a roommate who has grown up with nothing but sisters who , when he really likes a woman, is a sweetheart and finds his need to be monogamous first though Phoebe. they are both athletic (with Monica also with her competitiveness) while being highly sexual beasts. Then she ends up with a less famous of Joey in Mike(Paul Rudd being a non actor on show but more famous in real life). It's one of the few shows that should have ended with all six as couples. the four who grew up together matched up and the two later friends where the perfect final match teased but never explored. Hell Chandler and Phoebe even had a flirt off until he finally revealed he loved Monica! But It would be funny if Joey was secretly the father of the triplets and his relationship with phoebe was secret and ended by her search for her parents and him keeping an eye on his sisters as they were getting in relationships making him uneasy because several did show up as plot issues. The which one did a friend hook up with episode and the little sister running off with the looser guy for examples. Now there's a Theory for ya, secret Joey triplets actually checks out because it's between Mike and Hank Azaria so perhaps it could be true. Plus Joey has the gene for multiple babies given he comes from big families along with Phoebe being a twin could make for the large amount. Since everyone was too busy with there own issues to think about the time as Ross was in relationship limbo, Rachel was jealous, Chandler and Monica were adapting to their feelings, Plus Phoebe's brother isn't bright while his wife was just excited and focused on maintaining finances, Phoebe could be hiding a bigger secret in her tears. The look Joey has looking at them too....uncle Joey and how Phoebe watched them and cried....he could have been holding their kids unaware and she was keeping him from knowing them just like her parents kept their identities from her. Damn, I want a reunion where when they show up older, the boy is just like Joey and the girls are like Phoebe and Ursula! Just the look on everyone's face if the kid flirts with another kid(like Emma) and says, "How You doin'?" could end the special or movie with Joey and Phoebe looking at each other realizing what she did as it passes over the parent's heads.

    • @Wolfwood8719

      William Roberts I think I figured it out. The time in Friends is kinda wonky, but it would have happened in the summer at end season 3 and beginning season 4. Those episodes, coincidentally, are the ones where Phoebe meets her mother, the one who gave her up. The only relationship we know of around that time was the one between her and both Vince and Jason. There could have been another relationship, of course, but from what we see I would say it was one of them, which adds another layer on her meeting her mother and the whole dynamic of being given up.

    • @Wolfwood8719
      @Wolfwood8719 Před 7 lety +37

    • @Roserae16
      @Roserae16 Před 7 lety +29

      That makes some scary sense. On the point of all the couples ending up together, it always bothered me that Joey was left as the perpetual bachelor. When the writers explored the relationship arc of Joey liking Rachael while they're roommates, the lack of resolution really bothered me because they fit pretty well together, but the whole thing gets dropped unceremoniously so Rachael and Ross can get shoved back together. Honestly though, Phoebe and Joey always made sense as a couple too.

Danny Tanner is 29 when the series starts because in season 1 he celebrates his 30th birthday and his eldest daughter is about 12 so he had DJ when he was 17. Then there's the fact that he's a newscaster but he's not anchor or any high position, he's the sports reporter at the late night news so he shouldn't be earning that much money yet he has a house, not an apartment, in San Francisco, the most expensive town in the country.

      Yeah, all the sitcom timeline nuts seem to forget that we're not seeing literally 24/7/365 of these characters' lives. There's plenty of time for them to have done stuff offscreen. Like just because we see the characters on Friends in Central Perk a lot doesn't mean they don't work. We don't have to see EVERY SINGLE TIME a divorced dad sees his son, or every time someone is working.

      Normally I'd agree, but it's sort of a running joke that the only way they can afford the apartment is because it was Ross and Monica's grandmothers, and at the time that she rented it, it was under rent control and was way, way less expensive. That does however bring up the point, how can the boys afford their apartment? Joey's only steady jobs in the show are his stints on Days of Our Lives -there were two different ones- and a couple of low budget plays, and Chandler ends up jobless at least twice for a while -after he quit the accounting job, and after he quit working at the same place as Rachael.

      It's noted multiple times that chandler made insane money at his original job and save A LOT by living relatively frugally. I don't remember the number, but Joey owed him thousands in rent and he was able to pay for his wedding essentially out of pocket. I just remember Monica freaking out when she found out his savings. ALSO, chandler's parents are a famous romantic novelist and a Las Vegas drag performer. PLUS, Ross and Monica's parents are loaded. other than Phoebe and Joey, the show is about a bunch of rich jerks living it easy in new york. Which brings up the biggest issue, how the hell does Phoebe have her own apartment and decent one at that? She works as a masseuse and has a few odd jobs. So unless she is an insanely popular masseuse or has a secret roommate that is very rarely mentioned, she shouldn't be living as well as she is.

Unless Monica also skipped a grade (never brought up) or Ross took a year off after high school (unlikely). How are these two only one grade apart when the older brother skipped a grade?

      It's hard to say. Ross's birthday is kind of unknown. He states twice that his birthday is Oct. 18, but early in the series, when Chandler and Joey want to take Ross to a hockey game on Oct. 20 for this birthday, Ross say something like "Thanks, but my birthday was seven months ago". Also, at one point, Ross starts to tell Gunther that his birthday is in December (according to the wikia Friend's article on Ross).
      We don't really know when Monica's birthday is during the year. I suppose 9-10 months after an October birth would be around August, so it's possible.
      Although, according to that article, it could make sense that perhaps Ross did take some time off between high school and college in order to "work on his dancing", which is brought up in the last episode.
      I can't believe I'm trying to think this much about Friends.
      or that I even know this much about Friends...

    • @Roserae16
      @Roserae16 Před 7 lety +12

      Let's be honest, Ross is definitely enough of a dweeb and the favorite child to take a year off from school to "work on his dancing" or "workshop his band" with Chandler and it be totally okay with Jack and Judy. Monica, in her competitive nature, probably used that year to catch up academically, or at least that's my guess.

      Friends is awful with ages, I've calculated it a few times and the ages are never consistent. If you do want to try and makes sense of it though, homerooms in many high schools (including mine) aren't always separated by grade and one of the girls could have been a junior dating a senior, thus allowing them to go to prom (I don't think it was Rachel, she mentions how it was her prom). This means Monica might have been two grades below Ross and one below Rachel. However, there is so many contradicting episodes in Friends that I can literally refute every conclusion I've drawn.

    The problem with Frasier is that in a custody battle it would have probably gone on for their child's entire life, as they are both well off but still on equal footing there. Then there is also the fact that it is mentioned several times that Lillith is a very good mother and that the men she does end up dating, from what we see, are also good men to have in Freddie's life. So yes, while Frasier does spend his entire time chasing girls and other stuff, it is shown that when Freddy visits he's a great father, willing to do and drop everything for his son. Further, during the 1990s it was almost impossible for a father to get sole custody, nevermind in a situation where the mother is perfectly healthy and capable. I agree with your other observations, but you cannot literally ignore the entire facet of the show where they specifically show that Frasier goes out of his way to be there for his son, in a way that doesn't see Frasier and Lillith at each other's throats every waking moment. Hell, they even say that Frasier and Lillith divorcing greatly improved Freddie's mental health.

    It always bothered me, as someone who's watched Frasier more times than I care to admit, that Katie doesn't take into account the times Frasier goes to visit Fredrick. Not just hypotheticals, but episodes that flat out show Frasier either leaving to visit or returning from a visit, or referencing a recent visit with his son. He sees Fredrick waaaay more than he's given credit for in this video
    Not to mention the "i hope Nile builds up the courage to cheat on his wife with an illegal alien" because one, she wasn't illegal. She nearly gets in trouble going to canada because she's there legally and not supposed to leave the country. Maris (and Mel) are both horribly abusive and when he tries to leave them, both use money and connections to try to ruin his life and career (so leaving them isn't that simple). Plus, Niles has multiple opportunities to cheat and chooses not to take them BECAUSE he loves his wife and wants to be loyal.
    Hate the show all you want Katie but hate it for legitimate reasons you doof.

So he didn't pick his college based on where the 12 year old girl he was interested in wanted to go in six years, but based on where the 16 year old girl he was dating wanted to go in two years.
