One slight correction, I used to work for Six Flags, and I can attest that we performed safety tests for rides at the start of every day. Doing test runs, checking all the failsafes, that kind of thing. The park itself was indeed a cheap facade with low wages, labyrinthine layouts and overpriced everything, but at least we were safety-conscious.
Blastinus Disney was the same, maybe its a jab at Hershey Park or something smaller.
Blastinus Its talking about third party tests done at a fixed time that go farther to check the rides. An example: you, the worker, can clean that restaurant you work at 100 times a day but an inspector should still come in and check it for hazards.

LonelyBachelorCocktails that's just saying you want to be next to a stranget
Most people are willing to wait instead of sitting next to the creepy guy by himself.
I go with family and we still use the Single Rider lines. Not quite as short as fast pass but much shorter than the regular line.
Yep, I go with friends but then do the single rider thing on a lot of the rides. The rides that are slower and you can actually talk with each other while on them, I stick with the group. I get to ride so many more times then my friends who stick together for everything. I go to ride rides, not to stand in lines chatting which can be done anywhere at any time. If people can't handle sitting next to a stranger on an amusement ride, then that's on them and their own antisocial issues. I look at it as a chance to socialize with new people, nothing better for a bonding experience then shrieking together while plummeting down a track on a rollercoaster. Lol.
Love Roger's Walt Disney look.
1:10 is why I go to the smaller amusement parks. @@LEADERCHICKADEE My guess is that the ones who believe it hate theme parks so much or hate things, they'll use this as truth when it's most overexaggerations of the truth.

As a former Disneyland "castmember" (Disney BS for employee), I can say that this is mostly in fitting with everything I had seen or heard during my couple of years as an "attraction host" (ride operator). I can't speak on the human trafficking part, but the rest was pretty spot on.
Paul Stallings omg lucky, I worked in QSFB
Paul Stallings Well if you think about it amusement parks are a hub of unsupervised children and young people on their first time out alone or in small groups. So from a certain perspective it probably is a quite popular place for predators. But still... If people were really conatantly disapearing outside themeparks you would think there would be a bit more publicity... And if there isnt maybe there should be...
I live in Orlando. Not much of the trafficking is of kids on vacation but foreigners being trafficked in. Their biggest customers are dads on vacations with their families. The dads sneak away supposedly for a drink or something but are really going to pay for prostitution. So the predators are often family men. In this way whenever there are busts it's easy to avoid disney. News reports are just about men on vacation with their families getting caught going to a prostitution ring that has foreign minors.
+Princess Ameatia You would think, but human trafficking is one of those things people don't like to talk about. There are more slaves today than there ever have been in all of history. When was the last time you heard a well known politician talk about combating human trafficking? It's one of those things everyone knows is there but pretends like it isn't.
I did some digging and even spoke with a counselor on the issue : Number one person who molests children? The father of the child (followed by a different parent or guardian). I've no doubt that large parks have influence on stories that get out but what I wrote is statistically correct, including the porn.
"The same architects that created the prison system."
No wonder Deadman Wonderland is the way it is.
Well, this hasn't aged well. I mean, the prices in the Star Wars park are way over what this vid describes 😁

Imagine President Roger's State of the Union address:
"I'm standing up here to bore you for an hour promising you an American Dream that will never come by feeding you clichés and platitudes to distract you from the fact that I don't know what the hell I'm doing or frankly how I even got elected. And revealing what little I do know would be so damaging that allowing you to know would be a real threat to both my status and the very system my rich buddies and I benefit from at your expense. So instead of giving you a list of real policy plans, I will eat up most of your time by giving brief backstories of audience members who've suffered tragedies so you can get emotional enough to instinctively agree with whatever I have to say...because you're a bad American if you don't."

This is like Adam ruins everything except it's true
So is Adam not true?
Brayden Reimann yes
How is he not?
@@braydenreimann8718 adam is like right 40% of the time and has an agenda. Like the electoral college episode, he doesn't understand it's designed so ny and ca chooses the president every year and no one knows what is the swings states, like Maryland use to be a swing state. Or how gerrymandering doesn't really exist seeing we only do a census every 10 years and people move.
Another episode was the border wall episode which was completely debunked but a good example is when he said the wall isnt going to help because up to 20-40% of illegal immigrants will still be able to get past the wall. That is deceptive phrasing because really the phrasing should be the wall is 60%-80% effective, which is pretty good. He also said how our country originally operated by having immigrants come in, do work, go home and have some wealth, assuming this was something we've always done and agreed on. This is a lie. We have been debating this for hundreds of years and is one of the several reasons for the mexican American war. So adam ruins everything because he is a liar.
I stopped watching the show because of the agenda. Penn & teller's bullshit is the absolute best show.
@@js5072 Or, perhaps, it's the fact that these political issues have so many thought gaps that literally EVERY opinion is correct, but because someone can't possibly spotlight them all does not make them a liar or fake news or biased.
Just a nose-scratcher here, but, considering immigration has INCREASED since the wall began construction and since then people have easily poked holes in it in the middle of the night, stolen parts of it to use elsewhere or to recycle for money and, yes, air travel on temporary visa's and overstaying their welcome. The wall was a massive waste of time, money and an entire election. We literally elected someone based on this one Build a Wall premise and while it surprisingly got done - it is not 60-80% effective. More like 6-8%.

If society would be honest about Internship
- You pretty much learn nothing about the actual job or if it won't be aknowledged
- You pretty much need to do it (seems to be the general consensus of society)
- You pretty much get treated sub-human
- You pretty much work longer than the common employee
- You get paid no money and need to pretty much carry the expenses connected to it yourself
All together it is the modern form of slavery, just that you get neither food nor a sleeping place.
TheTrueLeafless Depends on the internship. Most engineering internships are paid. As with other STEM internships.
engineering internships are practically jobs with wages higher than an average full time American worker... probably should've paid attention in math class
TheTrueLeafless: Pretty much.
When you said society did you mean just america? Here in canada, wether ur an intern, part time or full time you get paid for the hours. The only time I didnt get paid on the job (auto mechanic) was when I did a 3 week practicum to gain experience but I was going to tech school at the same time
I would never do an unpaid internship. . fuck that. I got bills to pay

I lived near both Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland when I was a kid. Knott's had free admission, (back then anyways). For a while I lived so close to Disneyland we would watch the nightly fireworks from our porch, it got So OLD that even now I don't really enjoy a fireworks show. As late as the early '70's you could still get into Disneyland for a $2 general admission. This was a bargain to me since the rides weren't that big a deal for me. I always had plenty of the old alphabet tickets for rides that were left behind by relatives that came to California for a visit and gave us their leftover tickets before heading back east. The real attraction for me was being able to see top performers play for just $2. I used to go and see Buddy Rich, Blue Mitchell, Maynard Ferguson, Louis Bellson, and a lot of other top name jazz artists. And growing up near Knott's was also a benefit. It was THE hang out place in Orange County in the '50's, '60's and '70's. Everyone would just cruise through. But both parks changed, and Disney of course became prohibitively priced. A place that once was available to go and enjoy yourself became too expensive and uncomfortable to visit. Knott's is still semi-reasonably priced, and has some good rides as well.
I went to a theme park 2 weeks before Christmas, max 15 minutes on wait time, no crowded visitors to block your camera shots, front row in theme park parade, 0 wait time on theater shows, and no lines in toilets. Best decision i ever made

Lol try to come to disney or universal anywhere near Christmas and see if you have that same experience. I dare ya. Rule number one: Never go to a theme park on a holiday.
Another thing they do: they advertise that the wait time is actually 3 hours or so when in reality it’s only around one. This is to make the fact that you waited for a ridiculously long seen less bad.

Slight error: amusement rides, at least in first world countries, are 99.999...% safe. The people who design them are not the parks, ride manufacturers are separate entities, who design their rides to be as safe as possible, because otherwise the parks would not buy them. If accidents occur, the blame is nearly always on employees operating the ride incorrectly to the point of manually overriding the failsafes installed in the ride, or on comically idiotic park guests who ignore the clearly visible posted signs in front of every ride.

Howdy y’all, I’m an employee at universal studios Orlando. I’m also a student at UCF. I’m at the bottom of the food chain and felt I should correct some of this. While I have no experience with Disney, I can tell you a lot about universal. 1. Starting wage for ALL employees is $12. Which is actually pretty high for the area.
2. We don’t hire interns for the majority of our positions. In fact, I never met an intern. Those people in the costumes are just college students.
3. Some employees do live in motels but that’s because the parks actually offer major discounts to almost everything in the area. Food, motels, supplies, you name it. I’m even offered a discount to my local MMA gym.
4. Universal treats me relatively well. We get to go to the parks for free whenever we want. I have a very labor intensive position as a stocker. I walk many many miles everyday, so universal gives all employees $40-$70 shoes, depending on the position. Mine are steel toe with really nice cushioning.
Just about the rest of it is correct. He didn’t go into the food as much as I would have liked though. The food is extremely overpriced and really nasty. I would never eat anything outside of a nice restaurant when I go there. Not worth it.
I will not deny and in fact warn you further. All of these major theme parks ARE cash cows.
ooooohyaa Your icon oddly reminds me of the freemason symbol
too Disney isn't like that.
Yeah sometimes these guys and the debunking community at large dont form their arguments well.
Ive lived in a motel before and let me tell you you cant do it if you arent on a living wage, its more expensive than most other places to live. Most people who "live" in motels are hookers, sex offenders (because in many places thats some of the few places they are allowed to live and that they can afford), or people who have a very bad rental history and credit to where its difficult or impossible for them to get traditional housing and then theres itenrate workers who basically just go from one job to another.
The people who are living in a motel or hotel are hustling like fuck to make the rent or they have a very medium paying job because its every bit as expensive as living in a house and paying a mortage or renting an all bills paid apartment.
Its not easy. Its more likely that the reason that most of them live in motels is that like you said, they can get discounts on it, they are closer and require less driving or sitting in traffic and i imagine that sometimes theres even a shuttle service that runs to the parks from some hotel or another that they can probably catch to work for free more or less.
Lets see, you have an all bills paid motel room for between 1000 and 1200 a month. You dont have to have a car and insurance given that most of those motels are gonna be on bus routes or within walking distance.
You have a phone bill thats probably less than 100 a month.
You make 12 an hour.
480 a week. 1920 a month gross. Prolly about 1500 net.
You still have 500 after rent. 400 after your phone bill. Thats enough to eat off of and with some juggling you can get by. Not optimal, but its a start. I wasnt doing that well when i lived in a motel and ended up leaving owing money. But it shows you that NOT making a living wage ISNT what leads to you living in a motel. At least not on its own. There are other issues at play.
I cant speak to the rest of what he said, but it doesnt NOT make sense so im gonna say its probably true in some cases.
As a coaster enthusiast this video is the bane of my existence, the thrill of death is so unreal that at the highest estimated chance you are more likely to be struck by lightning three times than you are to die on a roller coaster. That means you are more likely to die on a 5 minute drive to the park than you are to die on a roller coaster there
@@metamorphicorder Uh no. As a non hooker, sex offender or whatever other stereotype you want to dish out and as someone who lived in motels FOR YEARS I can assure you it's not fun. I lived in motels because I live in Orlando and the rent here is RIDICULOUSLY high. A typical 1 bedroom will run you somewhere between 900 and 1500 a month. Can't afford that making 8.50 an hour. (AT that time) That's before Electricity, phone bill, water, car payment, (if you have one) insurance, and food. Nevermind extra stuff like cable and internet. That and most "live at" hotels don't give discounts because you work for a park because they know you're really their only source of income. I didn't have a car so I was taking the bus to work every day. 2 HOURS in each direction. That's not an exaggeration. The hotels closest to the theme parks are usually a little more high end than your typical living motel slum and do not allow people to LIVE there. They want you out and even if you could live in said hotel with a discount you're still looking at 99 dollars a day to stay there. Not an ideal living situation. So you have to live further away from where you work. Hence the bus and the 2 hour ride to get somewhere that's 20 minutes away by car. So my 8 hour days were then 12 hour days. I had to save tips for 3 years just to have enough to buy a car. (which I did) and I still have that same car now. That and your options for food are pretty limited as well as you cannot really cook in most cheap motels as they don't have kitchens so you're eating Mcdonald's or Wendys every night because after your 2 hour bus ride with the animals you're exhausted and really don't care. Plus, what the hell else are you going to eat? I will say that living in motels is good (as you mentioned) in the fact that you don't have to pay all of the extra bills that come along with renting or buying a house like electricity, etc so you do save money in that regard but it's in no way an ideal living situation. Thankfully I'm out of all that now and had that same job for the last 9 years until this damn coronavirus nonsense.
