I have 2016 Omen pc, even after giving invalid key three time, it asked for spareKey(which I don't have) no code was provided. I powered off the pc and it turned on in normal manner so back to square one. I wanted to turn on virtualization in bios

Hi, I'm trying to reset the BIOS password on a HP Probook 5320m. After powering on the device and attempting to enter in the password incorrectly 3 times, on the third try it goes to a screen containing an on screen keyboard, when i hit escape to exit this screen it displays the message: "Authentication Failed, System Locked, Press the power button to restart the system."(Each message is on a different line) and return no error code, this laptop is from around 2010 and im hoping to use it as a very basic and not very powerfull linux server. Upon completion of the installation of the different linux distro (i've tried multiple) and rebooting the system it returns the error "non system disk or disk error" i've tried multiple hard drives including the one i belive to be original to the system and nothing changes, some articles that ive read online suggested making sure the boot order is correct in the bios but i can only choose a boot device when the computer starts and not get into the bios because it's locked. I will be trying bootable USB system repair solutions, If you see this message and have any advice i would greatly appreciate it and if you don't end up seeing this message i hope you know how usefull your video is even though it didn't resolve my issue it may help me in future situations.

They don't have the power-on-password either. They will contact the vendor who at this point are my last hope. If they don't come through, it seems changing the motherboard or BIOS chip is my only alternative. Apparently the CMOS battery restart option doesn't work on this pc

you need to contact HP online support for an unlock bios
This is interesting as some places showed removing the BIOS chip and putting it in a programmer or something.

try the password reset and then run some antimalware and virus scans on it to be sure

do you know if this works for hp probook 440 g8? i got ripped off on ebay and before any other issues happen i want to stop it i spent nearly $1200 on this
and ive never briked a bios wouldnt this mean if it doesnt work that i wouldnt be able to boot to windows in the event it didnt work?
