Hiii friends!!!
In this video I will show you how to make rc plane battery pack which is cheaper than lipo battery.
It gives you same results like lipo but it is little bit heavy not so much.
it gives you flight time around 8/9 minutes when we fly continues, flight not depend on battery it also depend on aeroplane geometry, size, weight, weather conditions also.
my plane electronic :
1) dys 1450kv bldc motor with 8045 prop
3) 9g servo 2 Pcs, metal gear servo 2pcs
4) redytosky 40amp esc.
(Be careful while making this battery pack)
You will need :
1) Orange liion cell
2) 16AWG silicone wire
3) xt60 female connector
4) balance lead

As long as the cells are capable of high current such as those from tool batteries. Standard laptop type cells can barely put out 2 amps before dropping voltage drastically. Using very low power for propulsion is another option.
Molicel brand 18650 does support high discharge current.

@@Andy-df5fj Maybe, it's better to match your battery and max ampere of your motor did not exceed the maximum discharge current of your battery to avoid overheating and damage the battery.
You can use Vape Cells Original Brand and search their specs those are high discharge rate li ion cells.

Yeah I've done the low power matching thing in my early RC days with some laptop cells that were only capable of about 2 amps before voltage dropping below cutoff. It worked and flew for over an hour per charge, but it was way underpowered and not fun to fly.

I had made same plane with such battery about 3 years ago... When l went to fly wind was hard, and my aircraft flyed away very high and very far...))) I could not find it... Now I want make new plane))
Make sure to check the battery mah
Must be 2200 and up with ion batteries to have the power you need

Soldering Li Ion Bats is a very risky job . Keeping the Soldering tip for too long is dangerous as seen in the video .I have seen people loosing their fingers due to cell explosion.
Avoid Soldering Li Ion batteries and try spot welding instead.
Even if you are doing ,a friendly advice is to discharge batteries before Soldering.

Exactly what I was going to mention. You could probably come up with a spot welding rig using a car battery and some way to vary the Amp output.
I would experiment on dead nicad batteries, until you get it right, _then_ assemble the actual battery packs.

That's right. This is not recommended because these motors require a lot of amperage, these batteries are for lighter use.
Use ev grade battry instead

Well, for 18650's, it's usually between 2-5C
What one can do is make a parallel pack, 3s2p
That can double the c rating

in reality its never gonna happen coz discharge rate is very low in these batteries
.... Those kind of batteries don't work and the wires can easily break off the connection Because there's no strain relief....
within 5 minutes battery will heatup and catch fire
because Li ion cell is not high discharge cell i. e it is
only 2c or 3c whereas lipo is 20c,25c,30c,35c,40c etc
safety for rc plane.
For simple cruising the Li Ion can be used .I am using 3s Li Ion battery on my 3" Cine Whoop which flies for 15 minutes
