  • Got this triple pod cover from RiffRaff, made by Autometer. I first thought it was going to replace me factory pillar cover, but it actually installed over the factory pillar cover. In this video you will see how it installs, how i run the air line through the firewall and how i wire up power to have light inside the gauge when the light switch is turned on. Its pretty simple. Im glad i finally did this, got tired of my gauge flopping around everywhere haha.

    With your manual trans I would run Boost, EGT, and Fuel Pressure. Trans temp isn't much of a concern with the manual trans.

      Living On Wheels I think for towing I’d like to see someone do a rear diff temp sensor! LOVE BOTH YOUR GUY’S VIDEOS!!!

      But why fuel pressure. Is that an concern with these? Or ideal for when running tunes?

      FixItNick I think it’s good to make sure you’re not dropping lower than what you should be. Low fuel pressure is not good for your injectors lifespan. It can also be very useful in diagnosing problems know if you have fuel pressure or not. To me fuel pressure is just as important as oil pressure

      @@FixItNick fuel pressure is often overlooked when diagnosing trucks with problems, and low fuel pressure can destroy your whole motor if left unfixed. the pump usually fails gradually do to wear over time and goes undetected by the driver. theres plenty of horror stories of people dropping thousands of dollars in parts on their truck chasing a problem and by the time they realize that the problem originated from low fuel pressure, its too late. the 7.3 computer does not monitor fuel pressure, which is why its important to put an actual gauge on it.

    On a turbo diesel you want boost, oil pressure, and oil temp as your first guages you add. Especially if you plan on adding performance mods.

    The closest gauge I would do boost, EGT‘s , Oil pressure. I have a 2000 7.3 f350 . I bought a four cluster panel. I plan on the first one will be closest to my eyes. Boost , Egt’s , fuel pressure, oil pressure.
    Nice job

    EGT, BOOST, FUEL PRESSURE obviously IF it was an Automatic Trans temp hahahah, perks to rowing your own gears is room for another gauge!

    • @jensenleblanc
      @jensenleblanc Pƙed 3 lety

      FixItNick NAHHHH, i’m sure there’s some really particular people that would actually use one HAHAHA. Manual Trans just needs splash lubrication so I doubt it gets that hot, more cool would be a clutch temp sensor and a rear end temp sensor.

      Don't they transmission over heat ? That's they the reason for the Mishmoto oil cooler replacment install!!!
