1:04 - Polished Chrome (most durable & most popular, looks best when polished)
2:02 - Brushed Nickel (they run stainless steel brushed over polished nickel to give it the brushed look)
2:40 - Polished Nickel (has a yellow hint to it and it’s what brushed nickel looks like before it gets polished)
3:05 - Pewter (is also made from Nickel)
3:05 - Gun Metal Grey is made from Nickel)
3:16 - Brushed Brass
3:26 - Polished Gold ,very popular 20 years prior to 2017)
3:23 - Polished Brass (popular 20-50 years ago)
3:40 - Brushed Brass (a very bright breast that’s been given the brushed treatment)
3:45 - Rolls Satin Gold (more an orangey gold tone hue)
3:50 - Breezos Lux Gold Finish)
4:27 - Oil Rubbed Bronze (there are 3 main categories of Oil Rubbed Bronze)
(4:42) #1. Rolls Tuscan Brass (a true oil rubbed bronze. A brass that’s been rubbed with oil and treated to become darker. But that finish is a living finish. it will tarnish, fade, and possibly turn green around the drain. It is a living finish. It will change. It will not look the same 10 years from now).
(5:20) #2. Powder Coat Bronzes - (for people who want something that’s going to look the same 10 years from now. It’s a very matte, flat finished, single tone, not a lot of color variation).
(5:35) #3. Venetian Bronze - It is a plated bronze finish, a dark chocolate brown with streaks of color running through it. Good for people who want a bit of visual depth. This is the most popular plated bronze finish.)
6:03 - Olive Bronze - like the venetian bronze it’s a dark chocolate brown with streaks of yellow or a green tone running through it.
So now I am 😳 eyes wide open on this topic. We just had a “Brushed Gold bathroom faucet installed about a month ago. It now has white calcium deposits on it. Of course I am freaking out because I can’t get it off with soap and water. And i’m not allowed to clean it with anything else or I will ruin it completely. I’m now thinking I made a huge mistake in choosing this faucet finish. After watching this video, I wish I got the “Venetian bronze” oil rubbed bronze. We had that before and I don’t remember having this problem with that faucet. I may try to soak it in vinegar + water. Not sure how to soak an installed faucet in vinegar without sitting there and spraying it over and over again. But I guess we will see.
6:46 - Polished Copper - from sigma faucets, is a powder coated finish, which means it’s not going to tarnish, fade, Patina overtime).
6:47 - Satin Copper - from sigma faucets, is a powder coated finish, which means it’s not going to tarnish, fade, or patina overtime).
6:48 - Antique Copper - from sigma faucets, is a powder coated finish, which means it’s not going to tarnish, fade, or patina overtime).
7:17 - HOW TO MAINTAIN THESE FINISHES OVER TIME:
1. Vinegar & Water - a 50/50 mixture gets rid of most water spots.
2. Bar Keepers Friend - If you need something a little more impactful. It looks like comet, but it’s in a gold can. Doesn’t have any bleach in it and is less chemically abrasive.
3. Flitz Faucet Wax - will not tarnish or fade a living finish like a “Roll Tuscan Bronze”.
Thank you for doing this video!
This was very helpful. Thanks so much.
Exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks for the help.
I bought a 4 year old house and the polished chrome bathroom hardware had been badly marred because previous owner has been using an abrasive scouring pad to clean the faucets. So, I vote NO on barkeepers friend or any other cleaner that uses abrasives. I don’t know how messy people let their sink areas get, but it just seems like overkill to scrub/scour your faucet and put scratches on them. In my experience, you just need a microfiber cloth and a high quality ph balanced cleaning liquid solution and your faucets will be immaculate like the day you bought them. Worst case scenario hard water stains can usually be removed with a magic eraser sponge.
this was a great informative video!!
Ahhh you redoing your house Ti? 🥰
I was hoping you talked about gold. I’m remodeling my master bath and the fixtures are gold.
this video was very helpful
What is the best material for anti-corrosion? Our area is known for salty water and steel faucet corrodes easily...
Which finish do you suggest with well water (hard) - doing a bathroom makeover and need a finish that will last - thank you!
What’s the best finish for hard water???
Probably a satin nickel. However, you might want to install a carbon filter. Or if you're a fan of a patina, true bronze would be great!
Brush bronze from Kohler
Your thoughts on black matte finish for battery
I don’t understand the question. 🤔 do you mean bathroom?
What about black faucets: my thinking was easy to match with cabinet hardware. Are these stay looking good? Or, if you have moisturizer on your hands, do these look terrible?
Check out this video czcams.com/video/EROcy1-AWB4/video.html
Will the Venetian bronze finish tarnish or turn green in the long term?
It will not. It is a PVD warrantied finish.
I am looking for antique brass kitchen faucet. Where can I find that?
I hope this answer helps you out. czcams.com/video/ishM670Ec68/video.html

Yes indeed.
