    I really want to mix metals. My kids do not like gold so I am only using them in my bathroom, but I would like to do a gold kitchen faucet! although everything else in my kitchen will be bushed nickel. I think you gave me the courage to do it.

      Do not worried about to have gold. Gold will soon go out of fashion again. Big corporations always come out with new metals color try to sell us them and get rid off our old one. I don`t like gold, it gives me old fashion feel and I know the gold will be out fashion again soon. New fashion will be soon color metals, like blue, red, green and est. Designers already put for example blue faucets in high end houses.

    Hi Mollie. Great design and metal finishes you chose! Thanks for sharing. What about your door hardware, door knobs and hinges? Are they matte black, brushed nickel, something else? And light fixtures, they are metal too?

    Can you include the lighting fixture metals in consideration when you do a new video on this topic? In a bathroom we need to consider the faucet, the cabinet pulls, the mirror frame, and the vanity light metals. Pls add comments. Thanks

    I have a new, open concept home. I have brushed stainless for my cabinetry hardware and appliances. I'm using dark bronze for my end tables and the light fixture over the kitchen island. I would like to add a third color. I'm thinking about brass for a lamp or decor. Would I be better off with gold? I need to warm up the space as the walls and floors are light gray. Thoughts?

    Question: We just bought a vacation rental that has a traditional type bathroom fixtures (Moen Brantford-brushed nickel). I needed to get hand towel/bar and a robe hooks and liked the look of Moen Arlys-brushed nickel. The reason I went for the Arlys vs matching the Brantford was because I like the more contemporary look & will go that route once I need to replace the faucets PLUS the Arlys hand towel & robe hook look like they will hold up so much better especially since this is a vacation rental. However when I got the products home the two different brushed nickels were different tones. So should I buy more of the same line even though I don't care for it or is it ok to start merging in another line even if has a different tone of brushed nickel. :(

    I am keeping the same metal for all plumbing fixtures like shower and bathroom faucets in my bathroom, but do I have to get same design if shower is in different room than vanity? Or can I do a different shape and brand for shower and vanity faucets?

    We purchased an existing home that is covered in ORB. I understand the boredom from matchy matchy. We are on a budget to renovate our home and will only be switching our some of the ORB what would you suggest to mix with ORB? My first thought was to treat the ORB like matte black and in brushed nickel and aged brass.

    My pull handles are all brushed nickel as well as my faucet. I am thinking of changing the faucet to a champagne gold color, but keeping the pull handles as is. If I incorporate a light fixture in the gold color, do you think it will look okay?

    What metals would you suggest for : kitchen faucet matte black, stainless appliances, white cabinets and navy island? I’d like brass on the navy island. Question is what metal on the white cabinets? Black or continue with all brass?

    • @DesignLovesDetail
      @DesignLovesDetail  Před 4 lety

      I would say to continue with all brass on the white cabinetry as well. I think there's enough interest between the other elements so it would be nice to have a little cohesiveness with the brass hardware on all cabinetry.

    Hi Molly, this tutorial is so helpful! When you say mixing no more than 3 metals, would you count chrome and bushed nickel as one or two different ones? In my master bath I have chrome in the vanity handles, brushed nickel in faucets and towel bars, brushed brass in wall sconces. These are already 3 metals. I now can have a choice for the mirror frame and was going to do gold tone finish, but am also thinking of mat black. But that would make it four metals, unless chrome and brushed nickel can be regarded as one. What would you suggest? Thank you!
