    Hi Dave, thanks for this video. It is the most comprehensive video I've seen on the subject. I need direction on removing and replacing a sink. Help. It was suggested to replace with a similar size and shape which is fine, if I can find one in stainless steel. The problem is this man made material, was made in an shape and I'm stuck. Any suggestions?

      I could almost make this an episode of Quick Tip Tuesday. In fact I might. The short answer is you MIGHT be stuck. Rectangles are generally easier shapes to match than others. Do you happen to know the make and model of the original sink? I could answer the question. You should also keep in mind that you are going from a thicker material (composite material / composite stone) to a thinner material (stainless) which will throw off your measurements slightly as well. If you don't know the make/model send me a photo on Twitter/Instagram @remodelmedia or email info@remodelmedia.tv and I'll see if I can help you. Thanks for watching and make sure you're subscribed so you never miss an episode.

    I want to change out my "built in corian" sink with a step that supports the faucets in a corian counter and don't want to change the counter top. Is there such a sink that is a "drop in" type farmhouse design sink?? that supports the faucets as well??

    Aawww I’ve been wanting a white farmhouse front apron sink forever 😥 but I didn’t know it would scratch or crack around the drain and rust ... bummer 🥺 . I also didn’t know that I needed this video 🤭 , thank you for sharing.

      Then I’ve got good news 😃. That’s only true if the sink you’re looking at is cast-iron. You can still have your sink if it’s fireclay. Fireclay doesn’t chip or rust the way porcelain enamel cast-iron does. So go get that farmhouse sink.

    Regarding the composite stone material, Is that easy to maintain or does it start to look tired down the road. Will it scratch or chip? Also I like the look of the farm sink but is there any functional drawback? Thank u

    I have an older solid porcelain sink and it will occasionally get rust marks that can be cleaned away. I was under the impression a solid porcelain sink never rusts. Also, our sink is an under mount with granite and there’s a grout line. I’m not a fan of the grout because now it needs total redoing. Did I understand you correctly that sinks can be a under mount without grout? Thank you your video was very informative and I’m thinking about replacing my sink.

    Thanks for such an informative video..... I've saved it on two of my Pinterest boards !! When I reno or have a home built, I'll be going the fireclay sink with back and side negative edge installation.... Never did like the idea of an area where water etc can collect with the positive edge or raised edge types of installs.... Take care :)

      Hi deliber8, how did the fireclay sink work out for you? I want one, but am worried about staining, like from a cast iron frying pan sitting in the sink bottom for a little while....

    • @deliber8cre8tor
      @deliber8cre8tor Před 2 lety

      @@davidwitten3141 Hi..... Hope all is well with you.... I have not as yet purchased a sink like that one.... I'd love to, though... I have only ever owned enameled cast iron cookware.so I'm not the best to advise about what could happen if a cast iron pan is left in the sink for more than a little while... You could perhaps put a an old towel you don't care about in the bottom of the sink and put your pan on that...

    v good, I didn't know 2 much re: the ceramic sinks, but thought it must be gd as ceramic dishes are! I hope to get a granite/quartz one! if that's from naural materials, how can it be man made? do u not have drainers on the right side like we do here in the UK? tks, Mona

    • @RemodelMedia
      @RemodelMedia  Před 4 lety +1

      Mona L - Granite composite sinks are made by taking granite (or sometimes quartz) and grinding it down, mixing it with a resin material and pouring it into a mold.
      I’m not sure what you mean by drainers on the right. Can you tag my in a picture on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram @remodelmedia and show me what you mean?
