Queen created beautiful harmonies in the studios, but their live performances were on another level. They all were masters of their instruments.
Freddie mentioned in an interview: „For Somebody To Love, we had the same 3 people singing on the big choir section, but I think it had a different kind of technical approach because it was a gospel way of singing - which was different to us. That track was me going a bit mad. I just wanted to write something in the Aretha Franklin kind of mode. I was inspired by the gospel approach she had on her earlier albums. Although it might sound like the same approach on the harmonies, it is very different in the studio because it’s a different range.”

The backup singers are: Brian May - lead guitarist, Roger Taylor - drummer and John Deacon - bass guitarist. Queen did it all themselves...... All 4 band members were exceptional musicians....... exceptional vocalists (except John) ...... and exceptional songwriters. Each of the 4 wrote some of the bands #1 hits - the only band that can claim that !!!! And they were all very highly educated: Freddie - graphic design, Brian May - astrophysicist, Roger Taylor - biology, John Deacon - electronics. The original 4 member of Queen were together for 20 years ........ from 1971 until Freddie's tragic death from AIDS in 1991. You have a long Queen journey ahead of you....... 20 years of Queen greatness..... Enjoy !!! And... you'll never get bored. Queen could sing any genre and they always surprised everyone with each of their albums and songs. And... they were even better live than in the studio...... Enjoy !!!

Like everyone else said- the live Montreal performance is the one you should do next (💜 that “outfit” from Freddie). After that work your way through the Live Aid set list. So you are fully prepared to react to Live Aid.

    Radio GaGa
    Hammer to fall
    Crazy little thing called love
    We will Rock You
    We are the Champions.
As always, this was a GREAT reaction!
Edit: If I remember correctly you told another subscriber that you know We will Rock you/We are the Champions. You just didn’t know they were by Queen. So that means you are only three reactions away from knowing the entire set list. I’m so exited about that!

Freddie had 4 extra teeth that caused his over bite and refused to have them pulled as he thought it would alter his voice. He also had a large upper pallet which allowed him to have the best singing range ever. He was also classically. Freddie was a once in a lifetime phenomenon that will never be replicated. I absolutely loved this group and was fortunate to grow up with them in the 70’s and 80’s.

I started listening to you today. I watched you cover 2 Righteous Brothers songs and a couple from Queen. I wanted you to know, I am a white man and I thoroughly enjoy your facial expressions when you hear something you love. I am from that era of Queen and also listened to many older entertainers from the 60's on up. Hearing Unchained Melody from the Righteous Brothers brought to mind a vocalist from a period of the mid 80's (perhaps earlier) Aaron Neville. I thought he was the one who invented that style of "crooning", but it seems I was wrong. Thank you for bringing this amazing music to light for the younger generations! Keep doing what you do, Sir!

I'm happy to see you drop your jaw now and then and forget that it is not your show - well it is - but you are a reactor not a co-performer. That is when I know that something really blew your mind.

I really enjoyed your reaction and you couldn't have picked a better band than Queen! Each and every one of these guys are almost as talented off the stage as on it! Queen and Freddie Mercury are my all time favorite band! Anytime and anywhere!

If you really want to have the queen experience you should watch the live aid queen section. This little section is still considered today the best live performance of all time and of every musicians, not only by queen fans. It's only 20 minutes long but you won't forget it.

You NEED to react to Queen & Freddie Mercury performing LIVE, Honey....
Queen is actually the only band who are RENOWNED for being BETTER. LIVE.

Queen and Phil Collins, two of my favorite groups/people. I raised my daughter on 1970's to 1980's groups and people. Amazing what was old is now new. I enjoy bands and individuals who can SING in person, not have to prance around on stage with background dancers, and who are nice people. Compare Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody with Pentatonix's version. Brian May, the guitarist for Queen, heard it and gave them his blessing.

5:50 some people think that the high note is a guitar but it's actually Roger's high voice that you hear there. :)

This is the album version played for the official video where Queen performs in a studio setting with concert footage from their 1976 Hyde Park performance that Somebody to Love was not in the song line up. I find that soooo interesting and kudos to the editor for lining up Freddie's side arm 'punch' perfectly placed and queued up!
A great comparison is to now watch the live version from Montreal 1981 - it too is spectacular! And then watching George Michael do this song at the 1992 Tribute Concert for Freddie's passing would be like the TRIFECTA!!!

Awesome reaction man! Happy to see it. So happy to see someone else braving the Queen catalog 😉 all the best!
(Edit: “These little juice boxes behind him” is the best and funniest way I’ve ever heard anyone describe Roger Taylor and Brian May. Absolutely iconic I’m dying 😂😂)
