Now, this was an extremely great performance by a group I have never heard of! That's terrible on my end, but it's okay because we're here now! I appreciate you all telling me to watch this after we did the Pentatonix version!

Queen is: Freddie Mercury-piano/vocals, Brian May-guitar/vocals, Roger Taylor-drums/vocals and John Deacon-bass/some back vocals...they formed in the 1970's, they are a British band and you've heard their music in movies, t.v.shows, sports, games and commercials...WE WILL ROCK YOU and WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS are just two of their songs...this video was the first of their kind, no auto tune in the days of Queen....all four members wrote songs, so there is a versatility with their music...check out SOMEBODY TO LOVE, live at Montreal....

Yes! Thank you for reacting to this so quickly. Obviously the performance speaks for itself. This band paved the way for experimentation in rock music and videos. The list is endless of the very best of the best guitar players who was determined to take a shot at playing the legendary guitar pieces from Bohemian Rhapsody. It's more than their name that suggests royalty. Every generation from the 70's on has discovered Queen and been awed by what they see and hear. Their us a whole string of CZcams videos of choirs, workshops, people at conventions, large business weekends, you name it and they gather together to sing this iconic song. There are videos of giant crowds in stadiums singing this while waiting for a concert or sports event to begin. One of my hands down favorite videos is Somebody to Love live at Montreal 1981. Freddie's vocal runs are insane and it always brightens my day to watch it. Like Pentaholics, Queen fans are DEVOTED, enthusiastic and will eagerly share unlimited bits of history and trivia to help you understand what made the band so special. For me- I love Queen, I love PTX so it's a win, win situation. You react to either of them and I will be here ♄

1} For a lot of Queen music you should listen to the studio version and any live performance next. That is a chance to experience the difference that is Queen live and improving on what you find so mind blowing to begin with.
2} They are multi-talented and the songs that Brian and Roger sing are gems in their own way, because of the out of this world vocals of Freddie you will find that either one of them could have been a lead vocalist on their own.
3} Lace them up, because it's going to be a hell of a ride!

This group and this song, in particular, have been scrutinized, dissected, torn apart, and put back together again so many times, it is amazing the song has lasted this long. It was far too long of a piece for radio, not "rocky" enough for the "hippies" at that time, and contained far too many genres within a sing piece to be popular. Then along came the movie Wayne's World and everything changed. The popularity of this one song and of course, the group, took off to extreme proportions that no one could ever have imagined. I like your review because you enjoy the real part of the music that makes it what it is and that is how the sounds move around inside your head, back and forth, side to side, up and down. .and they did for nine solid weeks the owned the number one spot in the charts imagine any other band doing that now, They had so many singles that I haven’t the time to write them all down now and a huge amount of Albums too, This is what is known as Rock Opera and appears on the Album A Night at the Opera, The Name Queen was not just because Freddie was Gay but because at that time it was outrageous and Freddie loved to outrage people, Freddie had a vocal range like no other he could do things with his voice that many other singers were green with envy, I had the privilege to see them live a few times one of the best was at Live Aid which is a must see another was at Wembley again for their Kind of Magic tour, This is a band you will grow to love enjoy your journey finding more amazing songs of theirs I envy you that journey I loved it.

Pentatonix did a great job. They have a lot of technology that makes it far easier to record something like Bohemian Rhapsody, they had unlimited tracks for overdubbing. The drums, piano and bass was played live in one take on this song, because Queen only had 24 tracks to use, that is difficult and something you not see today.

One of my favorite things in this world is seeing people experience Freddie Mercury and/or Queen for the first time. I feel extremely blessed and spoiled to have been able to grow up listening to this group in the 70s and 80s, while Freddie was still with us. The best Queen is live Queen, especially their Live Aid performance. And that was Freddie on a BAD day, since he had health issues with his throat going on at the time. And here, 30 years beyond losing Freddie, he's still wowing people. I agree with one of the previous commenters here... if you go down the Queen/Freddie Mercury rabbit hole, you definitely will not regret it. I highly recommend it, seeing as you enjoyed this masterpiece so much.

This video was before MTV introduced music videos. The group was British and the name was very provocative as during their reign, people were just beginning to come out. There was a lot of controversy over whether their lead singer. Freddie Mercury was gay. The absolute musts after Bohemian Rhapsody: We Are the Champions, Under Pressure, Someone to Love, Another One Bites the Dust, and Radio Ga Ga.
Bohemian Rhapsody is considered one of the greatest rock songs of all time. The record label didn’t want to release it because it was just shy of 6 minutes long. No radio station would ever play a song that long. Great music company prediction just like when Sony dropped PTX a week after winning The Sing-Off.
The most iconic example of Queen is their 20 minute performance during Live Aide in 1985. It contains excerpts of many of their songs and demonstrates Freddie’s claim to being one of if not THE greatest showmen of all time. Freddie owned every audience when he preformed. He died of AIDS in 1991 at the age of 45. In the 80s an HIV diagnosis meant to start getting things in order because you had months to hopefully a few years to live. It was a death sentence.
I’m glad you’re beginning your exploration of Queen because not knowing about them is like not knowing the Beatles or Michael Jackson.
PTX received a big clap on the back when Brian May, guitarist for Queen, tagged the PTX version in his Twitter account. There could be no higher honor.

If you enjoyed that, you should DEFINITELY watch the footage from Queen’s performance in the live aid concert from 1985!! They performed SO MANY of their iconic songs, and they also interacted with the crowd so well, there was a note they sang that’s famous- it’s called ‘ The Note Heard Round the World!’ If you want to go all out, you could check out the movie ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ for some backstory

The Movie "Bohemian Rhapsody"❀ Is Great, But Just Remember It's "VERY LOOSELY" Based On The Real Life Story Of Freddie Mercury👑 And Queen...
Live Aid Is Awesome, But If Someone's A Newbie To Queen, I Wouldn't Start There, After BoRhap...Do "Somebody To Love", Official Video...Then Do The đŸ”„Live Montreal 81' Version...Before Sending Someone Down The Rabbit Hole Of "QUEEN"👑
Don't mean any disrespect, but I've seen way too many people, not fully understand the Significance of The đŸ”„"Live Aid" Performance, when they watch it before getting into a good amount of "Queen's" đŸ”„Catalog. đŸ™â€âœŒ
