This song is actually meant to be played with another song of theirs called “Bicycle Race”. “Fat Bottom Girls” was the A side of the track. “Bicycle Race” was the B side. They often played the two songs back to back in concert. Similarly to the way that “We Will Rock You” and We are the Champions” were played back to back in live shows as well.

I was waiting for this reaction. I enjoyed the movie Bohemian Rhapsody as a Queen fan. You'll definitely dive into his sadness through his life trying to figure out his sexuality and what not. But you need to see Live Aid before you watch the movie. Theres a CZcams video that did a side by side of the original, with the movie version. One version was played in one ear and the movie on the other. So Remi Malek pulled off Freddie SO SO well.

When you're a little further into your Queen journey and have listened to their later stuff you should watch The Show Must Go On, which is a documentary produced by Jim Beach (Queen's manager) primarily about Queen after Freddie died.
    Other songs to react to:
White Queen (Odeon Hammersmith), You Take My Breath Away (Hyde Park '77), Dragon Attack & Save Me (Montreal '81 - actually anything from that concert is great), anything from the Wembley '86 concert, Love of My Life (Rio '85) Live Aid '85 (if you haven't done that yet), Stone Cold Crazy, The Prophet's Song (lyric version), '39 (there are numerous live versions that are great), Spread Your Wings (official version - John's on piano), Anything from the Budapest concert. There are quite a few fun (and a few sad) videos from their later years after they quit touring because of Freddie's illness. With 20 years of genius to pick from, there are just too many to name them all.

The movie is NOT a documentary - and having that in mind you should see it. It made me a serious fan of Queens - and I'm 70 years old - but never knew them - in Denmark other groups were well known - and then life went on - - and then I saw Rocketman - and was excited - but happy that that was quit another beast - it was a musical - . I resented Bohemian Rhapsody but at last I surrendered - and was hooked! Since then I have been hooked - -- but bare in mind - it IS a movie - made to be entertaining - therefor it is not a documentary - but neither a lie. Enjoy .

Personally, I'd say no to the movie. The great thing about Queen is that there are a number of quality documentaries and interviews on line. There are a lot of books written. Their story is complex and fascinating. A real rabbit hole and a fun deep dive. The movie had some wonderful performances in it and it was a great way to get younger audiences introduced to the band, but you already know who they are. Too much fiction in the movie. I understand why they did it, typical movie business tactics, but the truth is far more interesting.

Personally, I enjoyed the movie. It introduces Queen, highlights their journey. Very true that timelines are shifted around and the character that was portrayed as evil was an amalgam of a few people. The main goal of Hollywood is ALWys to make money and entertain. Therefore more “drama” is added for entertainment/money purposes. Brian May realizes this, but says that Rami respected and portrayed Freddie well, the story of their struggle as a band was shown, and their music was introduced/included. He understood that Hollywood needed to do what they did to make a well sold movie. It introduced many new younger people to Queen. That’s why a Queen song was #1 on Spotify for 2020, Official Bohemian Rhapsody has over 1 Billion views, and there are so many new people doing Reaction Videos, Instagram posts, viewing of Documentaries & Official Videos, and sold out attendances at Queen + AL Concerts (for those that chose to). . The movie added to the Fandom and continues their Legacy. Anyway, that’s how I look at it and I’m 70.

The movie "Bohemian Rhapsody" won four Oscars I think. In trying to condense 20 years into 2 hours they had to take some liberties with the chronology and such, but it was a GREAT movie! It gives you a feel for the personalities and the flavor of the times. Then go watch the documentaries to get all the details in proper order. "The Show Must Go On- The Queen and Adam Lambert Story" is the most current one. I saw them at the LA Forum in 2019, they were absolutely fantastic. Enjoy!

This was a great reaction! If you have a chance, could you react to the live performance of this song at Milton Keynes Bowl 1982? The band and Freddie weređŸ”„đŸ”„đŸ”„đŸ”„that night! As to the movie, I would watch some docs first. Also if you want to know the real Freddie there are many interviews with him on CZcams. I think the movie took too many liberties with his story and you can't see his real personality.

To answer your question you should watch a documentary first. The movie itself is ok but the timeline is off. Like your reaction

The movie was good but sad in my opinion. It is more focused on Freddie’s personal life, which was interesting but tragic. Being a homosexual man at the onset of the AIDS epidemic was a troubled place to be. RIP Freddie.

Personally, I love all Queen, but early-Queen is my favourite of all time. Anything off Queen2 Album is Gold. Try "March of the Black Queen " ... they were only as good again imho ( though each and every Album is good and Contains real gems) with Innuendo, the last Album released while Freddie lived. And then, of course, there's "Mother Love" from the Made in Heaven Album...

That whole comment could have been made by so many Queen fans, and yet the irony is that if Queen started at Sheer Heart Attack and finished at The Miracle, they would STILL be the greatest band ever with that material!
