      Hi @@vernhoke7730 it's an epic performance and comes over so well live, just remembered when we were talking about Billy Squier, he bought Freddie an art deco silver fox for his help on a 1986 album Billy was recording in London. I thought that was so sweet, Freddie was apparently thrilled with the gift.

    Just a story on your favorite line. "Get on your bikes and ride" When this song was released as an album on the B side was a song called "Bicycle Race" In that song's video. Queen had a massive number of Female models ride completely naked on bicycles. The story goes when they went to return all the bicycles to the store where they rented them from. The store demanded Queen replace all the saddles on the bikes as they had been ridden nude and the bike store couldn't sell them in that condition.
    So the line "Get on your bikes and ride refers to the music video for Bicycle race which has to be edited. On the original video, you can see everything and in the original album cover, there was a massive pull-out poster of naked models on bikes in a row. Fun fact for you.
    Please keep the great reactions coming, love the channel

    You know, there is very little cool about getting old but I am so grateful that I'm of an age that allowed me to have seen Freddie and Queen live. I saw them a few time, including this gig at Milton Keynes. It's amazing to think I saw "Under Pressure" performed by Queen in Milton Keynes and 33 years later, at the same venue, I saw it performed again with Roger Taylor on drums with the Foo Fighters! Incidentally, just to make the Foo Fighters performance of "Under Pressure" even more special that night it also had John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin on keyboards!

      Yes and no, Brian May is one of the greatest guitarists ever, and Roger and Deacon are excellent keeping up the backseat, but Freddie, OWNED the stage in a way very few performers have ever done, which makes him the easy target for commentary.

    • @harlowrioux5790
      @harlowrioux5790 Před 4 lety +7

      No. He shortchanges the equally brilliant Roger Taylor, John Deacon and Brian May. They are all in the songwriters hall of fame, the only band to achieve this. Throw in Deacons mad basslines and Rogers unique drum style(and 4 octave range) and it is absolutely frustrating he doesn't make his son aware this was not Freddie Mercury and three guys-but 4 EQUALLY talented people.

    • @nancyblumberg4612
      @nancyblumberg4612 Před rokem

      So true, no one ever mentions Deacy’s amp he built for Brian and himself. That amp was the reason the red special could be made sound like any instrument out there and more. John Deacon was the engineer in the group. Btw, everyone has an advanced degree and all have written number one singles. Brian now has been knighted, one more thing long time coming for him!

    I think there was a previous Queen song Bicycle. Roger Taylor said something about a publicity stunt where several young women rode around town on their bicycles, naked! Roger also said that he was not there at the time, so missed seeing it. I think I did see a video clip somewhere here on CZcams.
