"Freddie Mercury never disappoints." THE GUY KNOWS, MAN!!!
@ShariSez1 Deaky has an electrician degree. 👍
Hell yeah bro 😀
Brian May, Doctorate Degree in astrophysics
Brian May, brilliant guitarist, song writer
Brian May, businessman, author etc etc etc
Brian May, the well-spoken gentleman
Brian May, writer of the Queen song Fat Bottomed Girls!
Brian May, Chubby Chaser
Interesting thought, that!
Diane Fowler The best !!!🤣🤣🤣 too funny to even think about!
Don't forget badger activist
@ShariSez1 Well then, Freddie and I have more in common than I thought.
This is live at "The Bowl" Milton Keynes, England. I was there with my husband, our last Queen concert and it was EPIC.
That is super cool! Thanks for sharing.
Wow you're so lucky.
Hey Joanne, me again. :) Saw them do this live during the Game tour in 1980 at Madison Square Garden.
Hi @@vernhoke7730 it's an epic performance and comes over so well live, just remembered when we were talking about Billy Squier, he bought Freddie an art deco silver fox for his help on a 1986 album Billy was recording in London. I thought that was so sweet, Freddie was apparently thrilled with the gift.
You lucky git! Queen and Led Zeppelin are the two bands i'd love to travel back in time to see.
Also never forget the genius of Bryan May. He designed, crafted and built his guitar out of a fireplace mantle with his dad
*Brian !!!!
''Bryan'' what a fail. You must write ''Brian'' 100 times for your punishment.
That's awesome, I've never heard that before.
Just a story on your favorite line. "Get on your bikes and ride" When this song was released as an album on the B side was a song called "Bicycle Race" In that song's video. Queen had a massive number of Female models ride completely naked on bicycles. The story goes when they went to return all the bicycles to the store where they rented them from. The store demanded Queen replace all the saddles on the bikes as they had been ridden nude and the bike store couldn't sell them in that condition.
So the line "Get on your bikes and ride refers to the music video for Bicycle race which has to be edited. On the original video, you can see everything and in the original album cover, there was a massive pull-out poster of naked models on bikes in a row. Fun fact for you.
Please keep the great reactions coming, love the channel
Facts, fat bottomed girls indeed make the rocking world go round...
I thought it was a double 'a' single....
The whole Bicycle thing was inspired by the Tour de France… they were there at the time.
FBG and BR was a double A Side
@@thedarcbirdit was
You know, there is very little cool about getting old but I am so grateful that I'm of an age that allowed me to have seen Freddie and Queen live. I saw them a few time, including this gig at Milton Keynes. It's amazing to think I saw "Under Pressure" performed by Queen in Milton Keynes and 33 years later, at the same venue, I saw it performed again with Roger Taylor on drums with the Foo Fighters! Incidentally, just to make the Foo Fighters performance of "Under Pressure" even more special that night it also had John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin on keyboards!
I'm 32 years old, and I love Queen and all the other "old" bands, they are not old, they are legends. And it's all becouse of my dad and his record player 😇 🤘😁
I always love, when I can turn my kids onto classic Rock.
The same! Me too
I loved how he said "get on your bikes and ride" and the next song on the album is Bicycle Race. on the Jazz album .LOL always love your reactions!!!
You can never go wrong with a live performance from Queen!!! Awesome epic performance!!!
Another Queen song you should do a reaction video of:
Under Pressure
Freddie is an icon, still love hearing the song and always sing along to it, thanks for the great revival tune Thomas
Appreciate the note, thanks for watching.
I never appreciated Freddie Mercury's owning the stage, and performance until just recently. He was an opera singer performing rock and roll, its doubtful we'll ever see another like him.
It's actually DR. Brian May PhD, he got his PhD in '07 from IMPERIAL COLLEGE .
There will never be another one like Freddie. Queen was the best and their music is timeless.
Love, love this song. One of my fav Queen songs and yes I am a Fat bottomed girl!
Written by Brian after seeing the Tour De France, and the subsequent amount of cyclists which included women. While all the members wrote songs, Freddie could translate the songs better vocally so he sang the song. Check out Bicycle Race which Freddie wrote also after seeing the Tour De France
5:46 *correction* This performance is from Live at Milton Keynes Bowl in june 1982 THREE years before live aid.
Just to clarify, Freddie was Bi with a preference for men, but had several romances with females, and left most of his estate to his first great love Mary Austin
The gay comment kinda rubbed me the wrong way. He was quoted a few times saying he loved everyone...I dont think he would have strictly described himself as gay or even boxed himself in at all...
That performance is absolutely stunning!! Thank you!!
You need to do Bicycle Race straight after FBG, the two go hand in hand.
It was a double A side 7” single, my mother bought it
Great choice! I grew up listening to Queen. I always loved this song!
I think his son begins to feel the music of Queen
The "Get on your bikes and ride" lyric is a reference to the song Bicycle Race.which in turn has a reference to Fat Bottomed Girls.
The first time I ever heard this song was while I was on watch in Combat information Center, My Department head (commander) was sitting at the console next to me and started singing it =)~
Yes Thankyou! Please more Queen live performances. Love your channel. Big hug from the Netherlands
And "they" actually got on their bikes and rode... just check out bicycle race's video.
You guys are the best in town and fat bottom girls do sure make the rocking world go round!
Lol, great comment!
Got to see them do this live during the Game tour at Madison Square Garden, September 1980. As soon as the drumbeat hit everyone in the arena was singing along. The Jazz album was another good one. Oh and the tri-fold poster of all the "Fat Bottomed Girls" during their "Bicycle Race" was a bonus.
How many men taught their sons about the birds and the bees with this song as their soundtrack? The finer things in life.
Great review. If i remember correctly, the LP that this track was on, was called Jazz. The inner sleeve was a fold out picture of a load of fat bottom girls on racing push bikes at the starting line on a race track. It caused a bit of a stir back in the day. Keep up the good work, love the vids. From across the pond.
That was tied in more with Bicycle Race more than anything. But both of those songs played back to back like we will rock you and we are the champions.
am i the only one who finds it a little bit sad that he only talks about freddie?
Yes and no, Brian May is one of the greatest guitarists ever, and Roger and Deacon are excellent keeping up the backseat, but Freddie, OWNED the stage in a way very few performers have ever done, which makes him the easy target for commentary.
No. He shortchanges the equally brilliant Roger Taylor, John Deacon and Brian May. They are all in the songwriters hall of fame, the only band to achieve this. Throw in Deacons mad basslines and Rogers unique drum style(and 4 octave range) and it is absolutely frustrating he doesn't make his son aware this was not Freddie Mercury and three guys-but 4 EQUALLY talented people.
So true, no one ever mentions Deacy’s amp he built for Brian and himself. That amp was the reason the red special could be made sound like any instrument out there and more. John Deacon was the engineer in the group. Btw, everyone has an advanced degree and all have written number one singles. Brian now has been knighted, one more thing long time coming for him!
so I did have the great fortune to see this epic band one time live, and on this same tour (in Cleveland and not the UK as shown here). oh so grateful for the experience. And the small poster w/ the naked bike riders that came in the sleeve of this album hung on the wall in our dorm room. It was good for a little conversation starter :-)
This song needs to be played in tandem with Bicycle Girls.
1 OF THE BEST TUNES OF QUEEN!!!
Oh yes, love it!
Love from Iceland man, you're killing it!
I watched that at the time and vowed to see them. I was at the Wembley 1986 concert and I’m so glad I got to experience that.
That smile on Harrison's face at 4:36 and 5;00 is what it is all about lol. Loved this reaction.
I love this performance at "The Bowl" as always Perfection!
once in a lifetime performer, so talented!
I still say Harrison needs his own channel
😁
Seriously in my top 3 favorite Queen songs
I fucking LOVEEEEE this song, and as much as id like to see it live, more than ever listening to the recording, I do wish he did the drum fill into the second chorus. It makes it hit SOOOOOOO hard on the recording.
Interesting what you said re American Idol(I’m from the UK) I never saw it but the now lead singer Adam Lambert(who finished second I believe and they performed with on the final show with and the winner) now tours with them and I saw them live two years ago and they were amazing and only wish I’d seen them with Freddie as that must have been something really special. I’ve also got tickets to see them again in June which I can wait to see.
Pls react to some more live queen stuff with your son
Long live Freddie in heaven!
I love your Queen reactions! I love Queen , since 1973 , Freddie is amazing! ❤️
A local band that I did lights and sound on this. I always had fun on this song. Love it!
Thanks for the reaction, i love that song so much, always puts a smile on my face! The "Get on your bikes and ride!!" is a reference to Bicycle Race, which was the b-side to this single. They had naked women do a bicycle race and when the company they rented the bikes from heard that, they made Queen buy all the saddles!! LOL!!! So funny🤣!
"I've been sitting on this [Fat Bottom Girls] for two months. That's epic. Lol.
I was nervous about the live version and how it was going to compare to the studio version but of course Queen nailed it like always.
Great job. This is one of my favorite Queen songs btw.
New Brunswick. Canada!!!!love the music you are exposing to your kids!, and that I am a huge fan !! keep it up!.......AWESOME!!!!!!!
Thank you for introducing all the good stuff to your kids, my kids know all the 80's hairbands and my grandaughter loves the 80's. It's called great parenting, lol.
A favorite of mine. Even though I’ve listened to this song, what, 10,000 times???!!!!.... still always fun to listen to. Especially with your comments and laughter - fun! At The Bowl (1982), don’t know if you noticed, Freddie quickly changed the lyrics “made a bad boy out of me” to “made an a$$hole out of me”! 🤣🤣👨🏻
Please please watch “White Queen” Live at the Odeon ‘75 with Harrison! Freddie hammering on the piano and Brian’s guitar wailing together, along with those amazing vocals!!!!!!!
I really enjoy your videos, great way to connect with your kids.
I do have a Queen request/suggestion for the song 39. It's a great song, and very out of the ordinary for what I know out of Queens catalog.
I sure do miss Freddie!
You need to react to Queen live Montreal 1981 'Somebody to Love '
He already did
He sings "Get on your bikes and ride" in this song - and in "Bicycle Race" he sings "Fat bottomed girls they'll be riding today".
Have you reacted to ACDC's whole lot of Rosie? I love that video. 😂
9:20 roger hits himself in the face
Hahahaha
You're everything I wish my dad was for me! kuddos man
100k soon
Great vid! Good to see your son back finally.
Loved the videos with pokey face Annie too 😁
Lol, thanks
The legend goes that bicycle race was inspired when the band was staying in France during the Tour de France, and Freddie ended up “meeting” a rider from the race.
Lol I never heard that Brian May story from AI. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Strictly for the lyrics and the message that makes me chuckle a bit, you should react to Lola by the kinks
Facts!
...followed by Walk on the Wild Side by Velvet Underground. "..shaved her legs and then he was a she"
I double dare you to make that your signature :D
when he said: i wonder what company would say...fat bottomed girls you make the rocking world go round. freddie mercury
-i’m sorry but if someone said that it was brian may
I was 13 when the album Bicycle Race came out! Love it. Got to see them in the early 80’s , I believe The Game tour! Have to go find my tickets!!
Very cool that you got to see them live!
Where did you see them?
Should do the fast, live, heavy version of We Will Rock You which opened this show and others in the late 70's early 80's. Live Montreal version is pretty special. Check it out and react!
I was just listening to Waltzing Matilda by Tom Waits. I would love to see you do a reaction video to that!
"Freddie Mercury Never, Never disappoints!!!!!"
Nailed it!
It's also worth noting that the word "fanny" means something quite the opposite in American slang than it does in British slang!
its interesting isn't it Brian May considers Tony Iommi to be by far and away the best and most influential Guitarist, they are also great mates, this does have a proper Black sabbath riff in the background doesn't it?
This concert was 1982 Live Aid was 85. It was 3 years before Live Aid
"Get on your bikes and ride" is in reference to "Bicycle Race" - which you HAVE to see the video for....
Great review guys. Always live Queen. Hey, how about some ZZ Top. Many great songs that get you going 👍
Have Live at bowl on dvd. The whole show is amazing ❤❤🎶.One of my favourite quote from Freddie is "i am gay like a daffodil 😂😂😂😂
bicycle races album cover is a thing of beauty
Queen ....aaahhhh......,Queen
The variety on your channel will take you to a mil...yes I said it! "OH..YOU GOTTA TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT"!!! 🎶🎹🤘💛🥁🎸 You'd OWN the company if you put that on there!
If you watch a video on Fat Bottom Girls, then you MUST immediately follow it with Bicycle Race official video! Cheers
Actually, Freddie was bi and never closeted. We might not have known, his friends and family knew. Brian did indeed write this because Freddie loved to watch curvy women dance :-) and we appreciate it :-)
Funny thing... for years I always misheard that lyric as "Get on your backs and writhe!"
OMG😂😂😂
Helloween - March Of Time (OFFICIAL LIVE VIDEO)
Yeah, there was a poster that came with the album , too..... 8
Great videos, especially the ones with your kids. I'm still looking though all your videos, but I would like to see some reaction from you and your kids, on a little band called Shinedown, which is a modern rock band, and have a specific album I like you to listen to, The Sound of Madness. Great album every song on it is really good. I really like to see you check it out, if you already have I will eventually find it, thanks and keep making the great videos, and good luck.
Did you get that Iceland map from Salter Creek Designs on Etsy?
Have a listen to Queen you take my breath away
Not to get off topic or anything, but where did you get that awesome bookcase showing in the background?
Guys have preferences for particular female attributes..to each his own! Ladies..you make their rockin world go on!
I think it might be cool to see him react to queen now with Adam Lambert
You need to play You Take My Breath Away Awesome song solo by Freddie
Queen will never be topped. I have loads of suggestions for you, Queen don’t stop me now, Mike+The Mechanics the living years and the original video for Meatloaf bat outta hell. Love your reactions and I hope you give my suggestions a go.👍
Please react to Now I’m Here live at Wembley 1986. It’s an older song from their 3rd album, but I think it’s the best performance of it.
You should react to Alter Bridge - Words Darker Than Their Wings live at the Royal Albert Hall. The vocals are amazing!!!
Like the ferrari and lamborghini caps
Next show your kids the soundtrack to the highlander.. it’ll blow their minds
is that a Tribble on the desk?
dcanmore the trouble with tribbles 😜 !
Have you done a reaction for seven seas of rhye yet? You should......that song is EPIC!!!!!!
I think there was a previous Queen song Bicycle. Roger Taylor said something about a publicity stunt where several young women rode around town on their bicycles, naked! Roger also said that he was not there at the time, so missed seeing it. I think I did see a video clip somewhere here on CZcams.
No, they were all riding around Wimbledon stadium
it's 1982, 3 years before Live Aid. still, you're right, he could kill it before then lol
This is from 1982 so three years before live aid but great video
God you look me trying to get my two daughters into good music, . Now they have got Stone Roses, Queen, the smiths, Radiohead, u2, Depeche mode, need I go on!!!! Saying that the the first one I made them listen to is the Beatles, which they both love and can’t. Really think any one can compete them
imagine Freddie still a live the beautiful thinnigs hey would have given us
