I opted for the V4S. It has everything and its cheaper then the PP. I already installed the full Akra system and it sounds like a beast! For short commutes to the coffee shop I’m getting a Grom. Enjoy your PP. It realy is a head turner. The V4S is too. Non-Ducati people dont even know the diff between them 😊

Nice Video, thanks for sharing. As a previous V4S owner who currently owns the PP (for over a month) , I do not totally agree with you regarding comfort of the seating position and foot-pegs . Honestly I could not feel that much of a difference... I did go on a long tour already and enjoyed it as much as I did on my V4S. Actually I enjoyed it even more because of the great handling and nimbleness of the bike. And no soreness either... But I need to add the fact that about a week after I purchased the bike I got the standard screen (tinted version) of the V4S as well as its seat which is way more comfy. PP's original seat is way too hard , and the windscreen is just useless at Highway speeds. As long as the OHLINS goes, my experience have been awesome... Nothing uncomfortable about them either. (some reviews mention that SKYHOOK on V4S is more comfy absorbing rough roads but with the OHLINS at their softest mode it performed very similar as far as comfort goes ) To sum it up, I did have some concerns regarding comfort before I made the trade, especially for everyday commuting to work and long tours, but after riding my PP for over a month I am very glad I did make the trade... I am loving the experience...
The PP is what Porsche GT’s are in the sport car world. Offer less features (to make it lighter) but charge more.It’s reverse logic.
This is an ultimate sport touring bike. Of course you can take it on really long trips in comfort, occasionally drag your knee.
Respectfully disagree. Did 600km today on the PP. Handles beautifully. Comfortable. It’s a sport tourer. Can handles miles. A Multistrada V4S, BMW GS, and many other bikes are more comfortable, many more are more powerful, and even more handle better. No other bikes does as many things as well as the PP.
V4s is a fantastic tool, PP is a fantastic toy....
the PP is more like a big and versatile hypermotard rather than what you could expect from a modern trail bike.
I absolutely love my Pikes Peak and having to wait almost a year for it was absolutely worth it. First service was after a couple days and I now have 1600km / 1000miles on it in just over a week. My other bikes are a Ducati Pani V2 and a BMW S1000R. Even though I am tall (6'4" / 193cm) the PP is a very comfortable ride.
The real selling point of the PP over the regular MS was how great it curves and the stiffer suspension. This is a big bike and I have had no trouble keeping up with super nakes chasing through the twisty roads of Schwarzwald. This bike leans just as good as any sport bike or super naked and she switches from hard left to hard right in no time.
For me the question between a MV V4S and the MS PP is: will you be riding fast through tight twisty roads, ready to scrape your knee? if not, then you might want to save the extra $$$
BTW: The heated grips are totally worth it. I got the PP with the touring pack (heated grips, center stand and side cases) and I removed the center stand at the first service, as I am worried it would scrape on the left side in fast and tight corners.

I only do spotive roads every time a +- 500 km trip with the PP and still in love with it 😋😋
On my PP I added the taller heated seat and some Ducati bar risers, that changed the comfort level completely. I would now take it on any trip that I would on a would take a GS. This allows me to keep the sporty nature with the overall comfort which I feel is a better package than a GT or Rally. If I need to do serious distance I take my Street Glide without question. My PP so far has been Uber comfortable for 6-8 hour excursions
I definitely need to do something because my neck and shoulders, specifically my right shoulder is sore for very long rides

Was at a event & there was a PP version of the Ducati Multistrada & did like it but when he let me sit on it I wasn't as comfortable as on the V4S & Ducati couldn't even throw on the Akrapovic full system, no heated grips, no center stand, no panniers I didn't think it was worth switching but your video really helps especially someone that has neither, thanks again Rembo, stay healthy and safe 👍

Congrats on your new PP! This one hopefully will not suffer the teething problems you reported on your V4s. Basically, it's a tall rider's SBK dream. Problem is the cost... I wish Ducati made a "standard" 17" version, like the V4 19". Speaking of which, nobody seems to have published any reviews on the standard V4 - would be cool, analog VS digital Multistrada... You might be the best qualified person for that :)
Good assessment, Rembo. I have the Multi V4S and it suits my needs for a sporty, do it all, fast and comfortable long distance touring mount. Tomorrow when I go out for a WI autumn ride and the temps are below 50F, those heated grips, heated seat and protective windscreen are going to be just what I need. Glad you are happy with your Multi PP for the types of riding you do. Keith

Great summary Rembo. I have the PP and completely agree on long trip comfort. I’ve taken mine on 450+ mile one day trips a few times between WA and Oregon and the seat is too hostile for long rides. Needs a softer seat for sure. I have done the same with my 2022 BMW R1250 GSA and that is entirely different. The GSA is a longe chair on two wheels. the PP is pure joy at higher speeds, unlike the GSA but they are very different bikes. I think that a softer seat and higher windscreen would solve for the majority of the issues I have with the PP. That said, it’s not a choice for doing BDR rides, which is why I have the GSA. Love the channel and thanks for all the insights.
I disagree about the touring side of the V4PP. I’ve done a 2500 mile trip on mine, and it was absolutely perfect. I have the heated comfort seat, and had no issues whatsoever. You need to get some miles on yours and dial in to it.

Thanks for that. You told me exactly what I need to know. I don't do long trips but I do occasionally ride dirt roads. Not single track (I have a enduro bike for that) but formed dirt roads. I can get spoked wheels on the V4S, like the 19"front and the extra 10mm rear travel. Pleased that the engine is the same. Coming from a Triumph Tiger 800 - V4S for me.

Such a shame that Ducati is now charging more money for what was standard just a few years ago. The swing-arm, the 17” wheels, were all standard. I get the ohlins and Marchesini wheels are more,but some items are taken away as well from the S model. All for a paint scheme and $5K more money.
True. The older 1200 and 1260 PP with single swing arm were not exclusive offerings. They were kinda standard.
You just described me. I ride hard on the track (RS660 and Pani V2 are my dedicated track bikes), and I crave more sporty feels for short tours. My new Pikes Peak is perfect for that. I consider myself fortunate though, because I also have a Desert X, and that bike is amazing for longer tourers and has the true ability to randomly hit gravel and forestry service roads along the way!

Hey Rembo! Great video and tremendous insight. Totally agree with your statement regarding a V4S, made three 5 day adventures this summer on mine, and loved every minute of them. So........a dumb question, regardless of price, why not a Street Fighter? Not trying to be critical, and knowing nothing about a Street Fighter, it almost sounds like you make a pretty good case for a Street Fighter!

The Streetfighter is not set up for touring, has no hard cases for it, no wind protection and not as comfortable seating position. Plus the SFV4 is dangerously fast. The V2 would be a better option. I feel safer on a MS.

The funny thing is my 1260 GT has a 17" front wheel and single sided swingarm..... so now you have to buy a V4 PP to get the same setup !
I bought a tuareg love it so much I sold my v4s like a strunz, I miss it but still love my tuareg, im now considering a PP but man 30 big ones? thats a lotta canolis
Good point what you address here, which you one do you need? Myself!!! I have always riden sportbikes and one day around the lake could not ride it anymore and swapped with a friend on a MTS, that day I said buying a MTS this week and now own a MTS V4S for long rides and keep my Panigale V4S for short rides, hope you are enjoying your PP

As I understand, the PP is more agile, more fun to drive, grace to Oehlins, a smaller front and a fatter back tire. On the other hand less wind protection, a harder seat and a sportier, less comfortable seating position. Wind protection, a comfier handle bar position and heated seats would save all our problems?
I'm guessing the Pikes Peak might hold it's value better in the long run. I have a 2012 PP which is holding it's value much better than standard version
Which translates into V4s for real world use, PP for track speeds.
Its hard getting old and having to acknowledge aches and pains😢 😂

Probé el año pasado la Ducati Multistrada V4 S y me gusto su motor , pero por mi forma de conducir , soy como tu dices (un chico deportivo, vengo de una Suzuki Hayabusa 1300) ) le faltaba para mi gusto suspensiones mas rígidas , agilidad de manejo en curvas y cambios de dirección bruscos y esta PP me ha dado todo lo que echaba en falta en la V4S , la verdad es que la he comprado con todos los extras para que también me resulte practica si quiero ir de viajes largos y realmente es mucho dinero ,pero es mi capricho ...... una cuestión REMBO , cuando probé la V4S note que al entrar en curvas muy lentas de 2, e incluso de 1 marcha . la moto retenía mas que la PP , tu también lo has notado ? a mi me viene mejor la PP que retiene menos al venir de motores 4 en linea , un saludo y tranquilo que en un par de meses tu cuerpo se acostumbrara a tu nueva montura yo tengo 53 y me acostumbre muy rápido

Yep, that's where it all comes down to 👍. But... I wonder if most riders will notice the difference in handling and suspension🤷. The price 😱 of the V4PP made me switch to the BMW S1000XR after 10 years of Multistrada riding🙄 The S1000XR is even more sportier and still comfortable and half the price of the new V4PP 😁

How much sportiness & nimble pikes peak is against Rally? i know it's really hard to quantify in YT, perhaps a comparison video on this topic?
There is no comparison between the Pikes Peak and Rally. I did riding video reviews on both of them. The PP is the sporty, nimble choice by a longshot.
Hello Rembo. Thank you for your videos. I've watched almost all of them already 😅. I have a question for you. Now as you experienced V4S and Pikes Peak would you still buy it or maybe you would also think about 1300 GS or 1250RT or Tiger 1200? I mean sigic maps obviously doesn't work and you still use you Phone in your vids and comparing to Tiger 1200 you get more elastic motor with inline triple that give me personally more emotions. Also do you really often use this front radar and do you count it as a "deal breaker" in terms of long trips? I mean V4S looks very good in my view but I'm kinda thinking about other bikes that are also good but doesn't have a look of a Ducati (GS) or have a bit more fun in engine (Tiger) or maybe more comfort (RT)
My honest answer is this. If I were doing a lot of off-road traveling as a true-adventure bike, I would probably opt for the GS. Although I love many of Triumph's motorcycles, the Tigers just aren't up to par with the Ducati Multistrada V4 family. Concerning the forward and rear facing radar. Once you get use to having it, you realize just how much you would miss it if you did not have it. So overall, I would choose the Ducati Multistrada V4S as the best all around value in the MSV4 family. I have the Pikes Peak because I like the nimbleness and have taken it to track days.

Coming from a V2S Multistrada, I’m still not sure between the V4S and the PP. I’m guessing either of this two bikes would be a big upgrade after the V2S. PP looks way better though I have to admit.
I'm on my second V4S, due to high mileage, for exactly the reasons you state, I go touring around Europe so it is perfect for that. How do you get on with the narrower handlebars on the PP?
The slightly narrower handlebars are not significantly noticeable and you gel right in with them quickly.
It the V4s had the same livery as the PP, most wouldn’t buy the PP.

What do you think now about suspensions and global confort of pikes peak vs V4S ? specially on bumps or damaged road ? it s good, "ok" or it s really unpleasant with pikes peak version?

The pikes peak version has a more adjustable suspension and can be adjusted to be just as comfortable as the V4S

@@Jolapatate64 The Pikes Peak version is a full step above the V4S when it comes to handling. It is a major difference for cornering.
Sorry but I have to disagree with you on this not being a long distance bike. You’re basing that on your experience. I intentionally traded in my Streetfighter V4s for my 2022 Pikes Peak as a sporty touring bike. I’ve already done multiple 400 mile days and completely comfortable. My sport bike is a 2022 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 rs, definitely don’t consider the Pikes Peak a sport bike. IMO it is the sportiest touring bike available but still a touring bike at the end of the day. I have a low profile Givi top case and use one Kriega soft bag for weekend trips.
I think a closer comparison would be between the Pikes Peak and the Streetfighter V4S, would you not agree?
It is a sibling of the Multistrada and the Streetfighter is only somewhat related in my opinion.
@@RemboUSMC You are correct of course. I was thinking in terms of application as a sport tourer although the Streetfighter probably cannot take much luggage. We really are spoilt for choice as bikers.

Pikes Peak is only the best
You forgot to mention that’s it’s the best bike to ride to Starbucks and back. Typical Ducati owners, rides to a coffee shop, parks it and tells others how they got the best version of their Ducati, and how much cooler they are than everyone else.
It's a real good feeling to know for a fact that all other bikes other than Ducatis are second rate junk. Glad you confirmed.
I know i will sound off subject but.. i ve had a tiger triumph 800 for 40k km (26k miles approx.). I switched to v4s last 2 weeks, and then the engine stalled. At 185km/k (120miles). I took it to the ducati dealer and told me that the diagnostic didnt show up anything and that they are waiting for an answer from ducati italy. So i went back to my tiger 800. Yes i am moulded into driving it, like you say, so now i use the tiger like a toy! In commute. I wasnt before. But after v4s i am wondering why am i going into something less agile and heavier. I use it for town and intercity ofcourse. No comparisson in freeway highway. But in town i am scared it loses to the tiger. I m thinking how will i compensate that nimbleness and agility now..
There is no secret that the Ducati multi-Strada V4 series has issues with stalling. If you are doing city riding than the multi-Strada is really not the bike.

How about a walk around look at the Pikes Peak and some on road footage so that we can get a feel for the handling.
The Pikes Peak seems more like a marketing exercise to me, and while some people may prefer it there are too many compromises for my liking.
Absolutely, my plan is to do a full review which will have a lot of footage of the bike in action
