Great review. I also like and appreciate that you completed the video with no cussing, well done. As for the Vac, I really like it, just wish it was dual power source, (battery/120v) like some of their work lights.
I can't promise 0 cursing lol however yes a hybrid would be cool. I have the HD1400 which is the NXT corded 14 gal ridgid and honestly never use it...cordless has set me free of ALL outlets. Unless it's popcorn ceiling or a huge drywall job this 3 gal gets it done Jack! As for the hybrid motor that can be a tough cookie to create. DeWalt's 120 Flexvolt hybrid corded/cordless miter saw has a known issue where plugging it in fries the motor! Their answer is just use batteries lol Meanwhile Flex tools like their 12" brushless dual bevel miter has the option for the FLEX adapter that turns any their 24v cordless tools into corded if you need the juice. It's a great time to be into tools with all these innovations that our past tradesmen would've loved to have to make their jobs WAYYYY more efficient.

Appreciate the additional info. Okay, I'm all in and will purchase the cordless vac tomorrow. Will also look into Flex tools. I've been a Ridgid user for Diy stuff for years, but I'm definitely open to new and cool tools (I am sure, my wife thinks otherwise!). Thanks man!
@@Thor2Q haha I'd suggest not talking to the wife about it but rather showing her how the tools improve your quality of life hahaha, a new tool really feels like medicine. Ridgid is a solid brand and I made a video not too too long ago talking about the 8 ah max output EXP battery Ridgid dropped recently if you need the run time. Ridgid discontinued the octane 9 ah batteries so that new 8 ah is the largest battery that the vac fits.
Incredibly detailed review! Thank you!!! 💪😎
Mahalo! This vac is my baby I use it any chance I can 👷🏻♂️🛠
Very helpful review. I also liked that you didn't cuss! I will be watching your videos. Awesome!
glad it could help, as for swearing I can't make any promises
Very professional and thorough review. I also respect that you covered this entire review without using any cuss words… again, very professional. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
🤣
I really wanted this vacuum to be corded 120VAC and battery operated. Since I have been in the Ridgid platform form 15+ years. That is why I bought the HF Hercules that is dual voltage.
Thanks for sharing! A hybrid vac could be a game changer. but until then at least we have the option to have both a battery and cord powered version. FLEX has that AC adapter for their 24V tools announced with their brushless miter. that adapter may fit their shop vac but sadly it's only 1.6 gal dry and ONLY .8 gal WET. In the future we may see bigger models with flex but right now ridgid is focused on their corded NXT vacs and sub compact tools keeping the light on ERGONOMICS.

Good review. Sliding issue could probably be solved by putting on some stick on rubber feet on the bottom?
That is an option, I'd probably go for EPDM (a synthetic rubber) because of it's resistance to solvents, UV and water 👍🏻
Great video as always. I’ve been considering this or ridgids handheld vac. I’m a low voltage tech looking to clean up drywall dust and sawdust. How’s nxt been holding up for you? I was also considering dewalts handheld or their corded/cordless shop vac. Ever try any of them?
The HEPA filters are designed to capture the smallest particles but the drawback is clogging while trying to keep your area and air clean! Not sure financially where you're at but dig a bit on amazon for ridgid compatible bags and you can fill em with drywall dust so they don't clog your filters. Sawdust is no issue. As for dewalt vacs I haven't used em. If you're in the platform you can try but my personal vote is orange here lol take my words with a grain of salt. I was just doing some sanding for a lady's kitchen table and chair legs a few days ago. She wanted sliders applied so as to not scrape her tile floor. 4 ridgid batteries in (4 ah) plus alittle 4 ah with my dewalt dcw210 and boom problem solved with no need to plug anything in allowing her to keep her AC running which was nice because we were in the mid 90s
@@TOOL_TECHNICALthanks for the response brotha, keep up the great work
@@JimmyDreadz No worries jimbo, I encourage everyone to ask a million questions! Sharing is caring
What is the largest battery you can put on? I work on the road and can't charge till I'm home so need at least an hour of vaccume time if not more
Their chart shows a 9 ah rating and the only 9 amp batteries they made were the discontinued octanes. As of right now the 8 ah max output exp are the largest that fit and as you saw I got about 25 minutes meaning for your hour you'd need at least 3 of these batteries. If you need a continuous hour or more I'd suggest the corded Ridgid NXT wet dry line they pack a punch at 5-6 horsepower and range in capacity based on what you need and your budget. I personally have the 14 gallon but you can go bigger or smaller 👷🏻♂️🛠
@@TOOL_TECHNICAL thanks bro really appreciate it💯👊🏻
@@patbent6338no worries, it's what I'm here for
Is there a way to connect it to dewalt orbital sander? Using de dewalt adapter?
I made a video on it czcams.com/video/QgbPSPZe4bo/video.htmlsi=b-iYUxcmUhE1C9yg
Using the car detailing kit from my orbital sander video yes. The hose from that kit actually threads into the adapter for a much better connection than a simple friction fit. Just make sure you're doing smaller tasks. If you need longer run times, you may want to look into ridgid's corded NXT vacs

Have you tried an adapter in using a DeWalt battery with it will it fit
No I haven't however I wouldn't recommend it, especially since the battery in it is hanging vertically, an adapter would put more stress on the port. PLUS Ridgid has the lifetime service agreement for it's tools and batteries VS Dewalt's 3 Year limit so... I'd stock up on batteries during black friday.@@bucket1249
@@TOOL_TECHNICAL I ended up with the Milwaukie pack out and bought a few batteries. We use all Milwaukie on our line trucks for powerline work. I would have bought the ridged if they stocked it at my local HD. It would have been $150 cheaper. I have a prolix wet dry on my wall I use for my cars, a 16 gallon with bag for the shop. I just wanted something portable to mostly suck up water and snow runoff on the floor without having to go through a bunch of steps.
can't really go wrong with the M18 line. i will say suction is not an issue with this one however the only thing I would have wanted is the hose inlet to be higher. in it's current position water fills to the lower spot quickly meaning constant emptying with not the "3 gallon capacity" advertised. I know it's not literal but the flex vertical cordless vac is lower capacity but handles wet applications a bit better :)@@bucket1249
They need to release a backpack cordless vacuum
That could be handy!, I'd personally raise the intake point on this one so the body can hold more liquid like the flex 24v for example 🪣 but still a great choice 👍. Hope the video was informative enough 🔍
At my gym they all have the Milwaukee cordless backup vacuums. They are awesome
@@Dtonk4609 the fuel Milwaukee vacs are nice and the packout compatibility means being able to pull around your all in one tool station. Downside is the battery prices can sometimes hurt as much as the 40V Ryobi batteries.
There is a bag that saves the filter
true and if you're doing fine particle cleaning in an open area I'd go bag over filter but because it's $20 for 2 bags or a filter I'd go HEPA filter in smaller areas to really keep your air more clear of particles even if you are using a filtration mask. Always think of yourself before tools or price :)
