    Hello , a mesage from the Netherlands .
    I bought my 75 1.8 Connoseur 5 years ago .
    I imediatly had the headgasket changed by the multi layer steel one .
    Later the Jatco was overholed with solenoids .
    Radiator , hoses and thermostat are done .
    Two new frontdiscs .
    Car has done 223000 km now and runs like a dream !
    Rocksolid and rustfree with a spotless interior .
    YES , it was not cheap all these repairs ,
    butt DAMN , THIS BABY'S WORTH IT !
    My Dutch specialist is Damen & Kroes in Boxtel .
    They know Rovers from 1921 of to now , great firm .

      That’s fantastic.
      I agree it is definitely worth the money.
      People that own and drive them understand just how quiet and smooth they are.
      That is good number of kilometres.
      Having a great specialist helps a lot.
      Thanks for watching and your comment.

    What a gorgeous car! They're selling one here in BsAs that it's prisitine and looks fantastic, although they are asking for 6000 usd. which seems a little too much (it's the V6 2,0 Club). 2001, 125.000 kms, first owner. I'm so tempted but no sure how diffciult would be to maintain ....

      Thanks. I agree it’s best to find who is going to look after a car before you buy it.

      Thanks. I hope so. 21 years old, 3 owners (before me) and no welding anywhere. Feel almost responsible for taking care of my 75. Thanks for watching and your support.

    I had a 2004 Mk1 and the rear passenger jacking point was rotten as a pear, suppose at the time Rover were looking to save a few pennies so they probably didn't bother with slick of primer or seal underneath.

    • @LivetoDriveUK
      @LivetoDriveUK  Před 2 lety

      Yes unfortunately there are a few rotten examples out there. As you say, cost cutting doubtless the cause. Hopefully, now this has been checked and waxoyed, it will last for years.

      @@LivetoDriveUK I have done the same with my 2 old cars, one owned 32 years & the other 8 years, and still on the road

    • @LivetoDriveUK
      @LivetoDriveUK  Před 2 lety +1

      @@badbooks476 that’s awesome. You know, most of my life, I have purchased a car, loved it and sold it a year later. I personally know Petrolheads that have had more than 100 cars; I think I’m on 38, but having one a year has made it easy to remember key moments in life. It is a little bit like rings on a tree. But I am finally at a point where I don’t want to sell one and my small collection of older cars mean so much more to me than the modern Clio RS I own. If I had to put an order to which car I would have to sell first; it would be the RS. So now, like many, budget and space are the deciding factors. Will be filming a “my previous cars” video soon. I am sure many will not understand them but for me… every one of them brought something to me.

      @@LivetoDriveUK That amount of cars will make an amazing previous cars video will be interesti. Same as me about the key moments in life & cars, winds my wife up though. I have only owned 6 cars ( including the 2 I still own) but I have had 11 company cars, boring diesel estates, over 25 years been a sales rep.

    Good Day Paul, did you mange to acquire a new engine under tray or at least a new surplus part? Cheers from Hamburg

    • @LivetoDriveUK
      @LivetoDriveUK  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi. No, currently have not purchased an under tray but intend to get this done soon. I have heard that the new “copy parts” for sale on eBay are not that good.

    • @johnmoruzzi7236
      @johnmoruzzi7236 Před rokem

      The 1.8s never had an undertray, the 1.8T had a (literally) cut-down short one to about 18” behind the bumper. I bought one from the old Widnes specialists a few year ago but haven’t fitted it yet.
