  • 2003 ROVER 75 2.0 CD CONNOISSEUR AUTOMATIC DIESEL
The car you always promised yourself AKA The best car Rover ever made....
Rover may have been consigned to the history books, but our 2003 Rover 75 offers a little bit of luxury, for very little money. This is the sought after CDTI diesel with a 5 speed automatic gearbox - The perfect combination for luxurious long distance cruising. This car is a high-spec "Connoisseur" model which benefits from a full leather interior complete with heated front seats and cruise control.
The leather and wood may give this car a very "Old English" feel but the power is provided by BMW in the form of the reliable 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine mated to a 5 speed automatic transmission. This was by far, the BEST engine and gearbox combination for the 75, and it provides the big Rover with superb performance as well as having low running costs.
Our car is finished in Wedgewood blue metallic, which many will argue, is the BEST colour the 75 was ever offered in (I personally agree that it is). The car features smart 16" Alloy wheels, and lashings of chrome trim which give it that traditional Rover feel. There are a few signs of wear to the exterior in the form of a few minor scuffs and scratches on the bumpers but it is clean and presentable. It looks impressive and has excellent road presence whilst inside it is immaculate condition with no notable wear to the interior. Whilst it has covered 165k miles it has worn very well. The previous owner fitted new rear sills a short time ago and you can see a slight difference in the paint finish in this area. The Rover will be supplied with a new MOT on purchase.
The combination of the turbo-diesel powerplant and auto transmission make this car extremely appealing. The box changes smoothly between ratios and the turbocharged engine pulls well at all speeds. Thanks to a whopping 300n/m of torque, produced at very low revs our 75 is a very relaxing car to drive, and it cruises effortlessly with very little engine or wind noise. The driving position is excellent and visibility is superb - Its an easy and rewarding car to drive, and feels as though it has been built to last. These were, in my opinion, the BEST cars Rover ever made and as they were designed in a time when Rover was owned by BMW, they have a quality feel that is lacking in its rivals. If you're looking for a high quality turbo-diesel on a budget and you like the idea of an automatic 'box then this is the perfect car for you. Despite its age and mileage, this car drives superbly and is extremely comfortable. It is a smooth and relaxing car which is a pleasure to drive. In terms of sheer value for money - the 75 is as good as it gets.
A MODERN CLASSIC? We think so - especially as this was the car designed to save Rover. Unfortunately the 75 was too little, too late. But a diesel model such as this really does show that they were capable of making a fantastic car.

Nice car - but the KV6 doesn’t suffer from head gasket issues. It’s a pretty robust and reliable engine

But it’s commonly known that later years of this model with this engine have problems with that…

Put a petrol engine in it and you will have a great car.
I never could understand why people bought diesel cars.
The soundtrack and vibrations are terrible.
