Broken crank in an LML 2015 duramax

    Where did it end up breaking? Mine recently acted like this. 7 and 8 injectors were both way off. 7 was +15 and 8 was -15. We locked the flywheel and hung on the crank bolt and it didn't budge. We chalked it up to bad injectors and ordered a new set but this has me kinda worried.

      Jake Risner well it broke on the crank journal between piston 1 and 2. I could put my hand on the balancer with the belts on and the balancer could tip slightly. Remember that the crank breaks at an angle. So when the two halves are rotating, they will push each other away from each other causing them to press on the crank caps. Therefore creating enough force to rotate the crankshaft even though it’s in two pieces. If it doesn’t make sense, I’ll make a video better explaining it

      ​@kitsapmobiletractor My '11 GMC does the same! Did you just replace the crank? Or the short block?

    I don’t understand why poeple have to have these huge hp tunes on that make it more unreliable than if truck has emissions lmao. Or the go and tow on one of these tunes and this happenstance.
