I wanted to provide a free video resource to help people find exercise through healing. I hope it can help you in some small way. Sending positive healing energy your way!

      @@vgi1569I’m recovering from an ankle injury, and had no problem. I guess if you put all your weight backward (on your feet/ankles) in child’s pose, then it would be a problem, but not a problem if you just rest your weight on your chest/shoulders instead. Try it that way, it shouldn’t affect your feet/ankles/lower legs at all. My ankles were barely touching the mat.

      She said to modify, be smart and safe. A good modification for you might be “happy baby”.
      Not all foot/ankle/lower leg injuries are the same, that’s why she made it clear at the beginning that you need to clear this with your doctor and/or physical therapist before doing this routine, and you might need to make modifications.

    • @a.s.3318
      @a.s.3318 Pƙed 17 dny

      @@thomasthetrainful Caroline absolutely has common sense - she was a professional dancer and has lots of experience with all sorts of injuries, and how to workout and take care of yourself while healing from an injury as an athlete.
      She’s not misguiding anyone. If someone refuses to check with their doctor and/or physical therapist before trying this routine with an injury, and they refuse to listen to their bodies, use their own common sense, and make the necessary modifications to the routine, that’s their own fault. Not all foot/ankle/leg injuries are the same, that’s why you have to take responsibility for your own health and safety and use good judgement when doing this (or any other) routine.

    I DO have a broken foot and desperately was searching for some exercises I could to do relieve my body from so much inactive bedrest. It would be lovely if you could implement moves designed from that perspective, which, from the comments, seems like a majority opinion. Doing these exercises with a broken foot is not possible, as any weight on the foot is painful.

    For Child Pose, I completely agree. It can very hard on the ankles. And sides of the foot. The internet isn't that great at showing off Child Pose 2, which is the better version for the injured. And extended Child Pose 2. So you can then transition into child pose. Or lower your bottom into the prayer position. I have a yoga book called Yoga For Your Spiritual Muscles by Rachel Schaeffer. I highly suggest you research and read outside CZcams. You're here for a reason. Yoga is healing. You can do it. Don't give up. Yoga is a practice. The variations are on your side. Be nice to yourself and be nice to others. Bye Bye :)

    GM Miss Caroline!
    Last wk, I had to have a small portion of my big toe nail surgically removed due to an ingrown toe nail... OUCH!đŸ”„đŸ˜” I'm still healing & had to put my regular yoga practice on hold. Meanwhile I had been searching for yoga practices and other workouts do to without pressure on my feet. I found some but YOUR yoga workout right here was truly on point!đŸ‘ŒđŸŸ I actually repeated it thus doing it 2 times back to back. I feel really good. What I do is put my backrest pillow on the floor so that I can rest my ailing big toe on it or position it under the front of my right ankle so that my right foot would hang over the pillow. "When there's a Will, there is a WAY." The words from my Mom.đŸ„° Again thank you so much for your workout. I'm grateful.đŸ™đŸŸđŸ˜

    Caroline is super sweet and ver fit. But with my twisted ankle child pose, quite few other poses and final stretch with bend knee was a big NO NO. So in the end I was not able to do majority of things. And being a regular yoga practitioner I dont find this a yoga routine - maybe 50% only. But thank you for trying!

    Maybe don't claim that none of these poses put any pressure on the lower leg, and then immediately go into child's pose first thing. I can't exactly bend my ankle or my foot at weird angles right now and I definitely can't put all my weight on them!

  • @Ariska00
    @Ariska00 Pƙed 2 lety

    I have a broken foot and am still in a moonboot. Rather disappointing that a video that states it is specifically for a broken foot starts with a childs pose and least 5 minutes that are absolutely impossible with a foot that has to stay in a 90 degrees angle. I know she says to adjust exercises according to your injury but I do not have the yoga expertise to do this myself. That is why I am here...so the video is NOT recommended. I will keep on looking for a video that is really for someone in recovery.

    Anything that causes flexion in your foot is going to cause lots of pain and discomfort.
    I almost broke my ankle coming down a hike in the dark. Luckily it is just a terrible sprain but these exercises just are not possible without causing more pain.
    And most people probably don’t have the intense focus to do these asanas through the pain and focus on the breathing. So then they are just doing exercises not yoga.
    For my meditation or center

    It is not possible to do these poses with a foot injury. Child’s pose hurts. Then the crunch type exercises where you balance your body weight on the top of one foot - no. That’s where I gave up.

  • @unpetitgoutdambre

    The idea and intention are great but the child pose is not appropriate for a hurt foot/ankle. It puts too much pressure on the feet. Maybe you could suggest how to modify some movements for the beginners who wouldn't know by themselves. Otherwise they may feel frustrated or defeated.
