I was two days out from starting a 9 day hike (poon hill plus ABC in Nepal) I'd planned for ages and my foot arch started playing up. This could NOT happen, so I searched, found this video, and started doing it daily. The relief and change was transformative. I downloaded the video so I could bring it on the trail (no internet) and did it every morning first thing. No pain. I was lazy and skipped the exercises one day and within an hour was getting achy. 🙃 Learned that lesson and haven't skipped since.

And I love that is a short sequence. It is much easier to stick to a routine of 10 minutes regularly!
I totally agree, that's why I've tried to make so many 10-minute practices because I know they're easier to stick with! Often times pain management practices need a bit of repetition for the body to get used to it, so it's much more effective to do a 10-minute practice regularly than a longer practice once in a while.
thank you so much for helping me release tension in my feet after two 6h shifts back to back walking around pretty fast. I've been thinking about bringing more attention to this part of the body.

It really helped me. All of a sudden my right feet was hurting me for 2 weeks and i couldn't walk properly. I did this yoga for 3 days and the pain was so much less...nearly gone. Thank you Joella

I run long distances on challenging terrains, so naturally my feet get battered quite regularly. I have been doing this sequence as rehab for my feet for last two weeks and it really helped with feet pain. Thanks a lot.

Thank you for sharing this video. I have hypermobile joints and regularly experience immense pain and cramp in my toes and calves. I can easily lift my toes but they don't bend under which makes it difficult to balance or do certain yoga poses. I'm going to try your suggested foot exercises for a few weeks.

I'm glad you feel better! Keep coming back to it and I'm sure you'll get the washcloth one in no time, usually it just means the "right" muscles need a bit of practice to switch on 😉
Had to get a toenail removed and wanted to heal the trauma in that area and balance the feet chakras as well, luckily found your video and my feet feel so much better.
I work on concrete all day and this saved my feet. I recommend it to everyone who is having feet problems.

10 Minutes of Yoga This was great!! I am going to add this to my workouts a couple times a week! Can you make a 10 minute yoga for waking up your body in the morning? And a 10 minute yoga for runners to prevent injury?

Thank you! It's interesting to me that I rarely consider what a tough, important job our feet have! And of course, as I gain weight, they bear a bigger burden. They need to be strong! I love these movements for strengthening my feet. I hope to regularly show them love!

Getting back to your yoga after spending 3 months in bed in hospital last summer. My muscle reconditioning program has advanced such that I can now explore remaining aches. Your videos for knee pain, foot pain, low back reset, si joint pain and hamstring have been very helpful so far. Adhesive capsulitis in left shoulder is also a factor (no dowward dog yet).. I will keep exploring!

The final stretch, where you bring your foot up beside your hip while sitting, is there a modification if you are unable to have your foot with with the top flat on the floor?
Hi Vickie, if that's not comfortable you could lessen the angle of the stretch by leaning back and supporting yourself with your hands, then placing the top of the toes/foot against the mat and playing around to see how the stretch feels. That way you're still stretching the top of the foot, but without the "weight" of the leg in such extreme flexion. I hope that helps!

That's a good question, it should indeed help because we do quite a lot of rotational and range of motion work on the ankles as well. Another one to try would be my Yoga for Calves video (czcams.com/video/zPzSkLHp9ws/video.html), which also includes some ankle work. I hope these will help you!
I love this foot routine. However the half camel pose causes diacomfort in my knees and cramp in my arch. Have you got an alternative exercise that will have the same affect but less intense please?
Great job Jo! Ah, arch cramps are no fun! If that's too much for now, see if it helps to keep the fingertips on the floor in front of you, so that the foot isn't taking as much pressure. I hope that helps!
