Because people keep bringing up about Foden at England…. When you have to look at the manager and the way he sets him up… in the champions league final Phil was quality… on the only big stage Saka has been on he bottled a penalty.
Why is Robbie bringing up England when saka has done nothing significant this season for England at all?
Buvey was right here but he is usually in the wrong. Always deals in absolutes and states opinion or subjective moments as facts.
The issue I take with Robbie's statement about Saka is that he isn't being honest about Saka's consistency this season. Saka has become extremely consistent this season, as it has progressed, however; I think that Robbie forgets that Saka didn't look all that great for at least the first 10 games of the season. I remember Ian Wright talking about how he's been the best out of the front 3, however; each of Arsenal's front 3 were looking poor when it came to scoring goals/attacking output.

he wasn't at his best performance wise at the start of the season but was still getting numbers on the board in terms of goals and assists I think that's what he meant by consistency.

I don't know why it's so crazy that some people think Saka is better than Foden. I think it's certainly a debate, but Saka got better numbers this season and last season, and is also playing as a figurehead of his team, while Foden has a much better overall team around him. Saka also has something like the highest key passes (I don't remember the exact stat, you can check out in more detail in the CZcams video about this debate), but he pretty much clears Foden in most attacking stats, not just G/A. You can make the argument for Foden too, but I think its closer than Buvey is yapping about.

Saka has done nothing with England. Kalvin Phillips won that same award but without trophies it’s meaningless. Foden forcing his way into a “financially doped” team at 18 and scoring a league saving goal is more impressive than anything Saka will ever do at club or international level

Foden and Saka I think are extremely close in terms of quality but if we’re going off this season, saka has had more of an impact and has more numbers to back that up in the premier league.

Saka has 3 more G/A in 1 less game…
Saka is more clutch than Foden, if he was in the line up against Brazil and Belgium; England would have won their two international fixtures

I think u have to look at the Saka/Foden debate like this for me. Foden is a better footballer. Technically and naturally. Saka is more clinical, efficient and effective. Foden hasn’t been consistently a first teamer under Pep other than this season when pep’s hand has been forced with injuries to KDB and Haaland. Maybe there is a reason as to why, however this season when he’s been handled the mantle he has been unbelievable. However, I don’t really remember Foden being good or consistently good for England where as Saka has been. Saka also has performed to a very good consistent level under every manager he’s played under, Emery, Arteta and Southgate. Every player hits levels under Pep in his system you wouldn’t think they would be capable of, it’s when they are under other managers is where you see there true capabilities imo. Just look at the horror Sterling has been for Chelsea since he joined. Amongst the very long list of players who left a Pep side and had a nosedive since, at Barca, Bayern and City. The list is incredible really.
