@@marlonblade007 including onana, although as an arsenal fan, i believe the board are doing everything they can to ruin united. the constant change of managers mean that players are unsure, formations and tactics are being trained and then switched, ten hag inherited a bad team, with no consistent theme. although ten hags decisions of signing former mediocre ajax players for premier league, shows the difference between the best dutch club and the premier league. antony and onana are very average players who have no place playing in a team the size of united, and especially for £81m.
Robbie is just so difficult to watch man. The guys got genuinely decent ball knowledge, but he just cannot get past his Arsenal bias.

Rashford won POTM in september pre- world cup, was pretty good early on but he was playing central so he was limited. It wasn't until Weghorst played the 9 in January that Rashford was allowed to play his natural LW role and rise to his full ability. Same thing happening this season too I think when Hojlund is fit and playing the ST role consistently Rashford will emerge again.

@@RobbiePlays-ec6lw last season was only a flash of what he’s capable of and even then he didn’t fully play on the left like he prefers. I’m sure you remember him from 2019-21 when he was getting 20+ goals like it was nothing before the injury. Martinelli definitely has more potential and a higher ceiling but Rashford is more of a complete product currently. When fully fit and playing in his best position, I’d happily take him over Martinelli and that’s no disrespect to Martinelli either. Saka on the other hand is guaranteed.

Also what I would say is this season his first two games he was played as a cf which is not his strong position and quite often last season he was there as well and you could tell he isn't himself In that position. However move him into the left wing he automically becomes a much better player which I think is better than martinelli. We should compare rashford as a LW not a CF to martinelli

Whilst I agree entirely with Rob's stance on having a balanced team for these sort of things, I think Rice behind Bruno and Ødegaard is just about the right side of balanced in this context. I think it is criminal when these sort of team of the year etc. awards end up with a 3-4-3 formation with one center half, two offensive fullbacks and a midfield full of offensively oriented guys. I mostly agree with the team they landed on. Rashford v Martinelli being very difficult to decide on.

Martinelli us playing in a diverse attacking team, Rashford is Man U's only elite player in attack, so most attacks went through him. I am biased but when I've seen Rashford he reminds me of Aubamayeng a bit, in tge sense that his best position is LW and is a great finisher from that role, but can't play through the middle. But he offers little in build up. Goals and Assists are great but Martinelli has so many other useful attributes that Rashford lacks

The whole world football agrees that based on the last season and the current form Odegaard is clear of Bruno. He got team of the year ahead of him, got ballon do'r shortlist and many more recognitions. Bruno creates more chances per game because he's the only source for creativity in his team. Arsenal are much more creative overall, and Odegaard conducts the play from right in front of opposite centre backs which is something even KDB struggles to do sometimes, it's something that only he can do... Bruno has to move in the deeper positions and slow the game because he's useless when more than 1 player pressure him. Odegaard is MUCH more efficient, he can absorb the pressure, he can take on 2-3 players at the time if they don't approach him carefully and he's much quicker in decision making than Bruno and of course much better at dribbling (Bruno cannot even compare in that category). The ONLY thing Bruno has on Odegaard technically is the long ball, which I can argue is only facilitated by Rashford's speed. The same Pogba-Rashford move they've been doing for years but with Bruno... Technique and awareness aside, Odegaard is faster, stronger, and has much better stamina, and much better work rate. There is no logical argument you can make for Bruno over Odegaard.

In my opinion, Rashford is so much more clinical than Martinelli but a lot of the time he doesn’t really get involved with play. He just finishes so Rashford could do nothing for 70 minutes then score two goals in the last 20 whereas Martinelli will work hard all game and contribute much more than just goals
I still struggle to see the positive talk about ramsdale he's decent at most but when you look at title Winning clubs they usually NEED a world class goal keeper.

If Arteta had a choice between Zinchencko and Shaw he would choose Zinchencko. Whereas Ten-Hag would go for Shaw. It’s not always about who is the better player in general but who is the best suited for the system. Likewise, if you are playing against a big opponent who is strong on set pieces and strong in the air then you would probably go for Gabriel over Martinez. I do think Arteta would choose Bruno, and Odegaard as his 8s with Rice as the lone 6 if he had all of these players to choose from though. Those 2 creating with the front 3 of Rashford, Saka and Jesus would be insane.

Rashford hasn’t been a good player for 4 years. He gets G/A but he can’t do anything else on the ball. There is a reason United struggle so much in games, because most of the players live off moments instead of ability.
Salah gets g/a and nothing else too. That is literally their job. Rashford won games on his own last season, even the game he was dropped for being late, came on at half time and scored the goal needed to win the game. But I guess that's not what is important in football.

Between Martinelli and Rashford, I’d go with Gabriel. Mainly because Martinelli is a more complete player. And it just feels like Marcus plays better on the left because he wants to cut inside from the left to the right on attacks. I just don’t see Rashford as someone playing down the left to make crosses or anything, on top of him having a habit of being good from 2-3 months, and then spotty the rest of the season.

Cannot believe Rashford isn't in there. He literally got more goals than Martinelli last season. When Rashford plays on the left, Utd get the perfect balance to their attack, he's that vicious and impactful in that position.
If we’re being real not a single United player gets into this Arsenal squad. Obviously Bruno, Rashford, Casermiro etc. are very high quality players on their day but if you swapped any of arsenals starting 11 with them they would play worse.
Arsenal were 5 points off Man City last season, United was 14 points off Man City. I mean, it is logical to have a majority of Arsenal players in the starting line-up.
