    P.S. We are aware of the daddy long leg spider web issue we have going on in the background, and have taken steps to remove the webs, but not kill the daddy long legs.

    Woo hoo 🎉!! Love these episodes I learned a lot on the last one. The main thing I learned from the last one is buildasoil may not be as open as they seem!! And that thermx is just as good as the Q

      ThermX 70 has 20% Saponins. The "Q" is 60+%. Not sure why in his last video he was saying the Thermx 70 was only a few percent less saponins. 40% seems like a big difference. Does that difference matter in reality...idk but in his last video calling out Jeremy for supposedly "lying" he didn't have the correct info either which I found quite comical. Either way, I enjoy the content from both BAS and Redbud.

      I don't consume much gardening content, but I do remember when q was launched he showed a video of the saponins being in the 22.5% range. Which is what I was referencing. Once your soil accepts water, theres really no reason to continue to use any saponins, regardless of the percentage of saponins. I would add, that you can Google that there are 2 different types of q powder extract being made. One with a saponin content in the 20s, and one that can be up to 70 percent or so. Seems ro me with the self admitted change of the product they are selling that they have switched to the type 2 product, as before the tests they showed on social media was in the 22.5% range. Thanks for the interaction. Always appreciated.

      @@RedbudSoilCompany I agree with saponins not being needed for every watering. For foliar sprays they are a definite must though. I have both ThermX and the Q and I have to admit the Q powder is a tad easier to work with and less messy. I always seem to spill that damn ThermX and get it every where lol. The Q seems to stick to the leaf and coat it for a bit longer as well which I would assume is a positive with foliar sprays. It is more expensive for sure but both products, if not used excessively, last for a very long time. I have the small bag and I'm almost done with my 3rd cycle and still have enough Q left for a minimum of 1 more round if not 2. It's my understanding that he has always advertised the Q powder being around 60% (batch dependent)...for as long as he's been doing the CZcams videos anyway. The new cheaper lower % Q powder he now offers is around the same % as ThermX. He said most ppl he has seen using it are being wasteful and using too much/too often so wanted to offer a cheaper alternative. Both products work great and as intended but I do find myself using the Q more due to ease of use and to me appears to work a little better for foliar applications. I enjoy and have learned a lot from both channels. It appears your general philosophy regarding organics and living soil is similar to Jeremy's, with some differences of course and offer a lot of the same products. It's nice to get different opinions and points of view. Good content man, I look forward to your next video!

      Liquid yucca is beyond messy. 😂There are liquid yucca powdered extracts that are 60% saponins, which could be worth a look Into. I actually saw a post on Instagram a long while back that showed 22.5%. I'll go with the updated 60% now that you brought it to my attention. I don't watch gardening content on youtube, so I haven't ever seen any other thing about the content other than the original post of 22.5%. I appreciate the correction, as I don't want to try to lead anyone astray. Also I'm glad it's working in your garden. That's truly all that matters.

      @@RedbudSoilCompany Its hella messy for sure. Not a good thing to spill...especially when the tent is in a bedroom lol.
      I'll definitely have to look into that. I wasn't aware of the powdered version. Thank you for the recommendation. Have a good day man!

    Awesome! My question about septoria was selected. I live in Virginia and grow outdoor, so just about every season around end of July going into august when we usually get lots of rain, is when the septoria starts to creep up. My beds are made up of home made compost and native soil. I also had the initial thought of out competing good biology with the bad biology, but I never thought to add less amounts of nitrogen as nutrition. Thanks for the info.

    I would enjoy a dedicated deep dive about how you disagree with Coot and similar methodologies for organic growing. I realize it’s probably not a topic you want to get into, but you are challenging a large portion of the available information that people have to go on.
    I understand the soil testing is king, but what about for those that don’t have easy access? Are there ways to extend the time needed between soil tests?

    • @RedbudSoilCompany
      @RedbudSoilCompany  Před rokem

      I'm not challenging anything, or at least that isn't my intention. All I'm saying, is follow the data, don't follow a schedule. The data proves, schedules don't work. That holds true for hydro, coco, or living soil. Without testing you are just guessing, and that guess will almost always be wrong. There's no way around collecting data. Coots a super smart guy, and has brought a lot of info to light. I would never try to take away from that. Data is however king, and I mean data from your own garden. Not research papers, and info from books.

      @@RedbudSoilCompany Some people can't or don't want to get tests though. It's either naive or exclusionary of you to totally dismiss growing that way when Coot's style suits a lot of people better. Also, it seems to me they get great results... What is the actual problem?
