- In this video we go over our Living Soil S.O.P. For Indoor Cultivation. This S.O.P. is based around collecting data from your own garden, and only using products for which the data points to.
This S.O.P. is our v1.0, and is always going to be a work in progress. We have tested it on commercial scale gardens, as well as with home growers. All of the procedures are done with keeping heavy metals in mind. Caveat being, there are to many variables to guarantee a pass, but it's getting easier and easier to pass heavy metals if you don't do dumb stuff.

I was totally tweeking on my first grow. It’s incredibly important to be patient with your grows and watch what happens on a weekly basis and not a daily basis… even watering can be overdone! Great points on being patient and watching your grow. The plant has taught me more than just how to get medicine, it has taught me to stop and smell the flowers 🍃🤙🏻
This is my favorite comment.
Outstanding video!! Love the breakdown. Thanks for sharing
Awesome information! Every bit helps to dial things in grow by grow! Thanks guys.
Videos keep getting better, thank u guys for spending the time to help the community 🙏👊
First time grower in live soil. This is the most helpful video I’ve watched about live soil. Incredible pointers and donts. Love this. Thanks guys
If you have any questions along the way let us know.
Great info!
This is good stuff guys! I appreciate seeing other people's perspectives and how they do things. I've learned a lot from both you guys and Jeremy and I've taken bits from each and incorporated them into my grow. Everything has been working well. I do have one question. What is the purpose of the FPF from Organics Alive? Is it's purpose like a humic/fulvic to potentially increase nutrient uptake? I apologize if you answered this in the video, I'm writing this question while I'm only a cpl minutes in so far. Thanks again for the education!
You are 100% correct.
@@RedbudSoilCompany Thank you! Great episode guys. I look forward to future videos. Your channel is one of the few I'll continue to follow and watch. As always, thanks for the education, I really appreciate it.
These dudes are like the juggalo version of Buildasoil
I'm violent J in this scenario. 🤡
Fire as always. Don't know why these videos aren't gaining more traction. There are entirely too many chuds raking it in for spreading misinformation on this platform.
You said it, I didn't. 😂
If there’s anything I’ve learned growing organic the past 4 years. It’s be patient. Less is more. Test. Don’t panic and screw your soil chemistry with random amendments…Also rove beetles kick ass. Lol
Will any drug administration actually accept this as a proper SOP? Is seems very vague from what iam used to. But very useful for the non GMP compliant/small scale/home production.
I hope it does not come of as rude, it is a very nice schedule you have made and thank you so much for sharing and providing good quality content.
I honestly think it would be very difficult to get a living soil grow gmp compliant. The "living" part kind of runs it when it comes to gmp. Pretty sad really.
Sounds like you have the same issue I had when my lavalier mic transmitter on my waist started making static because I was too rough on the plug. 2.5mm or 3.5mm I forget.
We've got a preamp coming our way, and then gonna switch to an xlr boom mic I think. We will get there eventually though. I hope. 😂
When buying pre mixed from y’all do I need a beginner test on soil or do you have a baseline test it comes with? Thanks for the info much respect from Tulsa
I would plant, and wait about 4 to 5 weeks, then get a test. Use that test for your first round, and then get another test after you harvest.
is a rotating composter good for putting worms in? (one with a handle you turn) or what method is best?
and what are some good ingredients to mix with kitchen waste for making compost for my worms to eat?
We will answer this in a future video!
I know you guys push soil/sap testing and rightfully so. I am interested in your views on supplements/bio stimulants with little to no NPK value. Things like SSTs, Aloe, coconut water/powder, FPE's etc? I started making my own FPE's (Dandelion, comfrey, insect frass, alfalfa) and adding in 1-4 oz/gal once every week or 2. I also like doing an Aloe foliar with Pure Protein Dry once every 2 weeks in veg. Just curious on your views regarding using these products.
We made this sop with being able to quantify results in mind. Also, do you have data showing that you need these products? Can you quantify what these products did? We follow this sop and our flower looks like it should, and with less money on inputs, and way less crap to deal with. It's real easy to show a white paper from 1972 and use it to try to sell something to you. It's a lot harder to prove that it worked. Especially if you are doing 100 other things. Pretty brilliant marketing really. I would always say, if you see it working in your garden, then use it, but always ask your self, "do I need to use it." Its weird how now that I'm old, I do 1/10th the crap I use to, but my plants have never looked better, and pass testing. Maybe I'm just lazy now. 😂
So regarding nutrients:
Soil testing and top dressing to keep a baseline longterm and then fine tuning with sap testing and foliars in the short term.
The Organics alive nutrients to continuously add a bit of nutrients that are consumed?
Can one also use small amounts of top dressings continuously according to what was consumed in the previous cycles?
Thanks for the info!
I woukd only top dress based off of a soil test. If you wanted to break up the application over a couple of times that would be fine. However top dressing every week is just not necessary.
can we substitute the FPF Grain Extract with Femented plant juice that we make ourselves?
Totally different things. If you jave a fulvic product on hand you could use it.
So do you recommend to water everyday im In a greenhouse with water only from build a soil I feel that dry down time is needed in a greenhouse do to pest problems. Ask what do you recommend for earwings I've got a infestation and haven't found anything to get rid of them thank for the content
Dry back kills microbes and will stress the plant. We suggest using an irrometer and just doing what it says.
@@RedbudSoilCompany would I need more then 1 in a 4x8 bed
are yall vegging in smaller pots and transplanting into 30 gallons or soil beds?
We will clone and then when it has roots put them in something like a solo cup or 2 quart pot, then pot up to its final container.
Do the predators come in the sashes (sp?) or is that something you buy and then fill yourself?
If they are a leaf dwelling predator, we try to get them in the slow release pouch if available.
Well shit guys! A full hour! So sick.
can you do VPK and compost tea extract together? Or is it better to do it separately?
Totally can use them together.
@@RedbudSoilCompany bet! Thanks guys. Was talking to Larry today (NYC guy) after watching this I’m just going to keep using water until I get my soil test results back. Thanks again guys!!
Who do you recommend for a sap test?
We use apical labs
Dude were you in 1-1 AD? You look so familiar
I am not 2011 years old.
Is there any other alternatives to getting the soil test done where i live there is no soil testing companies its not a popular thing in Pa.."Air quotes" lol
You can send us a soil sample, and we give you a free recommendation.
are the IPM Foliar sprays Organic?
Both are omri listed.
You guys ever mess with dragon fly earth medicine stuff? It works really good for me just interested in other people's opinions
Bought it once in 2014. Haven't tried it since. If it's working for you, that's all that matters.
I have it I have used the veg and flower. Both as a tea and a top dressing. Plants seem to like it. I love it. But it’s very expensive man How do you use it? And how often?
Plenty of nematodes in quality worm castings. Scope some w/c extract and see for yourself! 2 times a week spray your soil after watering ✌️🦚
I'm lucky. Evergreen Growers Supply is 10 miles away.
Sounds like we need some Red Bud Plant Meth for that 24 hour light cycle.
Fastest way to think you are getting things done, without actually getting anything done.
@@RedbudSoilCompany Also the thumbnail for this video is _noticeably_ better than previous ones. The bigger text is HUGE, you could probably go even bigger with your face honestly.
Thanks for this feedback. We are always trying to improve.
