I OWN a K1200 LT, and while this is a good review, it would help if Sean knew more about it? This is the 2nd series, which I believe had a linked brake system, unlike me 1999, which has a "Normal" system with A.B.S. I don't know about the 2nd generation LT, but on the 1st generation like mine, they are known for the interior brake lines to collapse. Mine has done it at 40,000ks, (30.000 miles, although, part of the reason may be the fact it's 20 years old? A complete set of Braided lines is the best long term solution, and available online for less than $500 U.S.
Yes, they are a heavy bike to move around in the garage, but I use both 1st and REVERSE gear. That's right, they have a REVERSE gear fitted.
I would happily recommend one of these to anyone looking for a great handling, comfortable, well equipped semi sports tourer.

Absolutely love your videos! As a rider on a budget and thinking about moving up from a Suzuki C50, it seems like every time I'm looking for info on an older bike, you've done a review on it. Must be nice going to work and getting to ride all kinds of bikes. I wish I lived out your way, I would definitely be stopping by, unfortunately I'm stuck in California. Thank you, Keep the rubber side down and God Bless.

First off the reason it smokes when you start it is because it has a flat inline 4 cylinder engine and the head is on the left side so the oil collects in the head on the side stand. It has electric brake servo that's why it stops so well and it's not a boxer engine. Learn a thing or 2 before you do a review. And what's worse is you say you deal with bikes...

Great feedback comment; l also would like to look at his riding style, he didn't respect Stop signs, worn the wrong gear for a bike tike this (remember that is also an educational video), rode over dividing lines... Yep! Not very impressed with this expert.

I've owned a K1200LT for about 5 years. It's my favorite highway bike. I was running through the mountains in Colorado and encited a HD ultra classic to run off the road trying to keep up.
I wasn't racing I was just going a comfortable peppy pace. The Harley guys balls were bigger than his brain and he low sided into a ditch. I kinda felt bad, but only a little. He needed to go buy a "real" bike as they so like to tell us. Lol.
He was grateful I went back to help, but kept going on about the gravel in the corner. There was none.
