We don’t stand a chance… smh… rip me
Looks like he already completed it
gotta fix that steering wheel angle first
He's already on side quests my bro is not messing around

@@BryanGtag Screens is always better imo, if you can afford a triple monitor setup like this one. More comfortable than VR and doesn't make you wanna be sick. Also, having a screen half an inch from your eyes with VR is super eye straining and bad for your eyes if you do a lot of sim racing.
@@BryanGtag because I don't want a screen directly in front of my eyeball.
dw bro, there are people who actually put screens in cars and have motion sims, so optimum's setup is, just a little bit overkill, there are those that are way more overkill

Dude, your videos are wildly good. Also the new space is amazing. Keep it up. :D

I’m so glad to see you get into sim racing! I have been having so much fun with sim racing, and it has been the motherlode of all rabbit holes I’ve gone down. It feels like there is a lifetime of things to learn about sim racing
I am 100% here for your sim racing journey. Literally just plugged in my first direct drive system two hours before seeing this video. Love how you presented all the info in here too, there’s so much room for different angles on sim content ⚡️🥂⚡️
My deepest respect. You build this channel with quality content and now in your studio you should enjoy it.
And it's one hell of a studio. It's beautiful. Well deserved
I don't know if it is intentional but I recommend that you turn off "look at apex" setting in camera. It makes it significantly easier to correct oversteer as your camera doesn't shake and it is more predictable.
Neck effects all zeros.
@@2ndLastJedi totally this.
yeah because he already has like 180degree of view so no point
And any other camera motion for that matter. IMO
Yeah Neck Effects only for Replay if you want them in your recording ✌🏻
This hobby is a bottomless pit. I also like you drive on the Simucube + GSI combo, but my wheel is their previous iteration (GXL Pro). Can't really speak from my own experience but people who opted for similar rig like you do tend to complain about some flex but most importantly modularity. That is the reason why many - including myself - go into the aluminum extrusions. They are rock solid but allow the full modularity for any peripherals (button boxes, stream decks, actuators for motion kits or simple keyboard trays). Something I can definitely say I am quite jealous for the amount of space you have to use. Myself I reach the small room boundaries and it looks like I might have reach the max possible.
Yeah I had that a tr8 pro and was using it with a moza 16 before moving to simagic alpha ulti which is still less powerful than a simu pro and that's when I noticed the flex enough to warrant having to change. The tr8 is a great rig for space though
Hey man! Glad to see you're doing well and able to spring for some cool stuff you want. Your content is great and I'm glad to see you successful.

Don’t let being new to sim racing stop you from racing with others online, so much of race craft has to do with what you do when battling another driver, with one driver or both being forced off the racing line.
AC has servers full of newbies, just jump straight in and start stacking laps, racing other real drivers is by far the best thing about sim racing. Pulling off your first successful overtake online is an amazing feeling!
GT3 and GT4 servers are the best way to learn honestly, F3 is also super nice
"Just jump straight in" is the worst advice you can give. Before someone races online he has to do practice laps on the track. It is a pain when someone completely new join the same race and doesn't even know the track. It ruins the experience of everyone. Learn the track and than go online. That's the right way.
@@iPain3G exactly, and to get more familiar with others on tack just join a track day lobby in AC.
@@iPain3Gyeah its the worst advice you can give if the context was a complete noob, but he wae talking to optimum after what we all just saw. He can drive the car and learn the tracks easily. Idk why you went off and took the conversation a completely different direction than where it was really supposed to be
@@ToatsMcGoats534 i see no evidence that he can drive and know the track. He was super slow and only showed use his new rig, nothing more, nothing less.
And btw. Optimum himself said that he played AC the first time and doesn't really know how the game works. Jumping in online races with near to no knowledge about the game is the worst thing you can do for you and all the other driver on the server.
Simracing is not comparable to shooter or other genre where it doesn't really matter how bad you perform. In simracing with one stupid move you can ruin someones day.
I saw so many idiots who think it doesn't matter to learn tracks and crash all the time but keep in mind, some of us have beefy bases which can easily break a bone when some stupid crashkid with weak ego crash into you on places you never thought that someone can crash into you.
This is awesome to see! I just started my sim racing journey in December. Definitely went in with very similar goals but without a studio to stick it in and
Great video mate. Enjoy your new sim setup!
I highly recommend bass shakers when it comes to being able to feel things happening in game through your rig. Being able to feel the engine vibrate with its RPMs as well as feeling the actual thud of a bump has been a game changer
yeah 100% agree, i think it's the best way to add a layer of immersion to the rig
Butt kicker was one of the best upgrades I’ve made. You definitely miss it when it’s not turned on and like you said adds an extra layer of immersion. I’ve tried $10k+ motion kits and I’d say bass shakers are well worth the price in comparison.
this is a game changer for real!
I put a kicker 10" subwoofer in small box under the seat with 300w amp! Shakes and vibrates the hell out of everything! The TRX Frame has room for sub under the seat!
This - absolute gamechanger in terms of immersion. It's just important to mount it in a place where the vibrations transfer properly to the seat instead of the frame as that makes a huge difference.
Dirt Rally 2.0 is the most fun I have ever had sim racing. I've played Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Forza Horizon 5, Euro Truck Simulator 2... But Dirt Rally 2.0 with a round wheel is just something else. I highly recommend it!

There's no way he can compete with that guy. Max is a full-time sim racer and a part-time F1 driver!
Nono it's more like Max will have to compete with him 😎
Just a bit of advice: (I'm not a sim racing pro, but I've been sim racing for quite some time and written a few articles and product reviews.)
I really urge you to make your view stop moving around as you turn. It'll mess up your cornering by artificially messing with your view instead of moving your eyes and head by yourself.
Long time subscriber btw and I look forward to more sim racing videos! About time you showed us your sim rig that you kept teasing the past few videos 😂
omg when I noticed that...
Yeah, it's very useful when you're playing on one monitor but on this setup it's completely unnecessary.
Yeah, this.
Yep that is messing everything and also very hard to watch even the video.
Thanks! It was fixed to start with but then I was playing around with NeckFX. Might just revert it 😅
I used to do work with an audio engineer who was also a retired military pilot.
He had a flight sim cockpit built with 4 screens (3 wide, 1 above).
The stick/main flight controls/rudders were top of the line.
He had control panels and docks that he bought with a friend of his that were stripped from actual airplane cockpits and wired into Raspberry Pis to take the analog signals and convert them to generic signals that he matched to keybinds for his flight sims.
All of this plus a custom CNCed aluminum frame which everything mounted to.
The computer it was strapped to was a $2000+ at least.
I asked him how much it costs and he would say "more than you think, but doesn't matter".
Enjoy the rabbit hole, Ali
Love seeing the passion and excitement in everything you do man. It gives me second hand excitement 😂. Saying that, would we ever see your car enthusiasm on the channel? 👀
Such a great video quality and attention to detials ! Love the way that it was filmed !
Nothing compares to VR for me. Being able to lean and look around the a-pillar in a rally car is as realistic as it gets from a visual standpoint.

I think the big screen vr or quest 3
I'm so tempted to upgrade my quest 2 to big screen beyond, but I want to wait a generation, and eye tracking is integrated and not a mod for phoveated rendering
Yeah, after experiencing that there's no point having screens for racing. However I don't have any adverse effects from VR
I can only comment for flight simmers, but having flown both with monitors an with a VR headset, the stereoscopic vision you get is insane in stuff like aerial refueling or formation flight.
But I don't suffer anymore from motion sickness and I learned all my HOTAS switches.
ali starting his verstappen arc- hope you won't retire this season ali 🔥
Loved sim racing as a kid and got back into it with Moza R9, almost any of the DD stuff you really can’t go wrong with.
Be sure to check out No Hesi (traffic driving sim based on Tokyo highways) as it is super fun and a nice break from the track: Content manager, mods like Pure (graphics upscale), Sol (more dynamic weather and combined with pure is insanity). VR is extremely fun but can be a bit of a headache to setup sometimes! Loved the video and super excited for some sim content too!
VR/cockpit games are arguably still the best use of VR. For racing in particular there's massive benefits: The added depth perception is huge in judging braking distances and speed for example that make the care much more natural/real to drive. And wearing the VR headset blends in transparently as it feels the same as wearing a racing helmet from a weight and FOV standpoint.
That plus a good surround setup to where you can hear which tires are screeching/losing traction etc. will play so much into your natural trained senses that you use and are practiced through years of real car driving that you'll understand why the rabbit hole goes deep, you don't realize how much primal feel goes into driving on a sensory level. It's something your brain is already trained on and attuned to, so it's something everyone can appreciate once they experience it.
I'm still to start my sim journey. I read a lot that VR is an amazing experience, but some people can't do it for long, and others comment that their driving is less consistent with VR than with screens.
You thought the sim race is expensive until you get into sim flight 😂

Great work! A buddy of mine loves Sega Rally 2, Scud Race, Outrun 2/3 on his sim setup. We even got arcade style multiplayer working and it was a blast
I almost forgot, one of the best experiences he's had on that thing was trying to beat Emergency Call Ambulance, which was notoriously hard in the arcade days.
First off, I'm jealous. however i have some recommendations for you
the way you have neck fx set up is making me feel seasick just as a spectator, i personally only use neck fx for drifting in cockpit view, with it only really reacting to steering wheel input. no looking to apex and minimal headbobbing. i know for a fact you generally look for an optimized competitive experience atleast in fps games, so i really recommend you use the two extra monitors you have and turn your own head instead lmao
if you want the incentive to get faster with an elo-carrot on a stick in front of you i recommend either ac or acc with simgrid and/or lfm (both services are free) and iracing (be careful with iracing or you will spend way too much on dlc.)
hope you'll have a lot of fun with simracing and dont get discouraged by the fact that youre not as fast as max verstappen after just one week! a surprising amount of people cant take the hit to the ego and just quit when they cant keep up with the front pack. there's a lot of videos on youtube to help you realize where youre making mistakes.
lastly i wanna recommend getting a round steering wheel of sorts, its the most universal wheel type you can have :)
I remember when I said that I wasn't going to do iRacing and race others online... I will just say that people talk about the cost of racing in VR (I race exclusively in VR), but they act like a triple monitor setup is free. Sure you don't need 3 240Hz panels, but name 3 monitors that cost less than a Quest 3 that aren't garbage.
There are some fun projects you can do with Simhub. Everyone focuses on the DDU and overlays, but haptics, wind (yes, I'm serious) and controller mapping for swapping out wheels are all great features.
I love the simplistic type of video and the crazy great lighting
I love that you are seemingly new to the sport, but give such quality review. You’ve changed my perspective on 8020 rigs 🤜🏾💥🤛🏾

Awesome setup! I have a triple screen setup aswell (not as fancy as this one though), I would really recommend the bezel free kit from asus to make it even more immersive. Also, just a few tips on terms of your driving. Try to slowly ease off the brake the further you get into the corner, around the apex (middle of the corner) you want to start slowly easing the accelerator. From the footage it seems like you try to give it full burst immediately which will just make your rear snap away and costs you time.
Welcome to simracing!! :D
Welcome to the rabbit hole mate, you'll love it here.
Jump online and do some races, the best way to learn and an amazing experience.
See you on the track!

Now I need to find space to move my rig to so I can run those panels because that looks amazing!
And you're right, VR sim racing is incredible for immersion, but the comfort and convenience plus pixel clarity of triples is hard to argue with.
Sim rig ergonomics -- seating position, wheel position, pedal distance/angle, etc. -- is obviously preferential and depends on whatever feels comfortable, but if you ever feel discomfort or want extra insight on what can be improved in terms of ergonomics, I recommend a video from racing driver Daniel Morad. He gives good advice on what to do/avoid to prevent strain/stress on your body. Video title is "PRO GT DRIVER REVEALS THE BEST SEATING POSITION FOR SIM RACING". He explains it from a GT car seating position standpoint though, so be aware that the advice might differ (I'm no expert so idk) if you want your sim rig to be like an open-wheeler style.
If you've spent this much on a rig, you'd be doing yourself a monstrous disservice /not/ giving iRacing a go. There's an entry level couple of racing series (MX-5 cup) and it's worth pushing to get through those (keep your racing clean and don't wipe out on other novices trying to play it like other arcadey racing sims) you'll still have a wildly good time.
Congrats man, really nice setup.
I am glad to see that more people are investing in Sim Racing. Just one thing..
As you can seem, the mirrors take the whole screen. The image is looks warped. Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think it should not be like that. AC has APP called triple screen where you can eliminate that warped effect. It at least helped me to fix that same issue on G9 Neo.
Very good build considering you're new to all of this. Simucube, GSI and VNM, all fantastic quality. Good to see you in a racing rig
You aren't really missing anything not having a motion rig. Motion rigs are extremely flawed when it comes to recreating realistic forces, and as somebody who has many years of experience of competitive driving in real cars, I find them to be immersion-breaking as a result. RandomCallsign has a good video explaining the flaws.
Cool to see you getting into the sim racing. Your ergonomics are a bit off. For instance, your steering wheel angle is completely off and you’re lifting your heel off the plate when you hit the brakes. If you need any help, let me know.
Almost 1 million.. congrats! You worked hard.
Welcome to the club, an 8020 rig is definitely the way to go but yeah you can't expect to get everything right the first time around :)

Seems like a nice rig BUT i think that in the end not going for a 8020 profile simrig might bite you in the rear in the long run.
It just will be stiffer and more flexible when it comes to peripherals overall... (including mouse/keyboard/joystick etc)
Also, something seems weird about the ergonomics: having the wheel tilted DOWN just seems "backwards".
Having the wheel fully horisontal is a thing, but angling it *downwards* is something you don't really see in a real race-car ever as far as I know...
I'd try to either raise the seat, or lower the wheelbase to the point where you can angle the wheelbase so it doensnt need to tilt down to make for a comfortable driving setup.
Can someone explain why you wouldn’t just get a headset vs a triple ultra wide monitor?
Surely it be cheaper, more immersive, easier to setup, easier to run, and probably a dozen other advantages.
You must not have watched the whole video before saying that...
only reasons i can think of is maybe less motion sickness and just pure flexing
@@FrankOnline007 A VR headset is just not very comfortable in the end. Nice rig, those screens are spot on. This might have been mentioned already, but you can do away with NVIDIA Surround for most sims. I've been sim racing with triples for around 15 years and I only just tried this after reading some posts about it. Keep 3 distinct displays in Windows (which works better for desktop stuff) and set the screens up in each sim. You can still set bezel compensation in each sim, but more importantly screen angles - this will give you a perspective correct view and eliminate the crazy stretching at the edges (e.g. giant wing mirrors).
Hands down one of the best screen alignments I've seen on a triple setup!
Personally would have gone with VR+motion instead of the triple screen.

Yeah, definitely!, that chair and modded ACC in a Quest 3 looks gorgeous and runs very nicely. I go around laps with my dual VKB NXT HOSAS setup (ye! not a wheel but I have no space for that). Make sure to use Virtual Desktop, enable high vibrance, contrast and max out the gamma (all on virtual desktop's options) otherwise it will feel dark and a sunny day will feel off.
First time watcher, nice video. I'm a Sim racer myself well down the rabbit hole now. Clean setup. I personally would have gone a different direction with the rig for future expandability but I'm sure you'll learn on your own journey. Enjoy. :)
Every time I see those type of builds I wonder, why people don't just use VR. Not only it's cheaper, but also gives user depth perception, which is super good for racing.
Not all racing games support VR, so you can't really do a VR-only sim racing build just yet. You kinda need to have a good monitor setup *and* a VR headset for where you can use it.
Because vr is annoying to setup and unergomic
The 3 screens give you the feeling of headset VR
Except the depth perception
Dude, this setup is a dream. Im currently saving up for a decent rig and an ultra wide monitor, but I dont have the room for your monitor setup. I will probably go with a profile rig because its more customizable and I can mount my own stuff. You should check out the conspit pedal sets or the simagic ones. They have hydraulic brakes and ffb motors on the pedals. You can also go the DIY route with the ffb motors on the pedals (like i did). I encourage you to try iRacing. Its way more rewarding (and fustrating at the same time:D) than other sims. There is the iRating where you are in a session with the same strength of field as you are, so its always fun to drive and you can still compete at a lower level.
I have one of those LG 45" monitors that i use for both FPS and Sim Racing and I absolutely love it.
...or you could get a vr headset
This is some good stuff!
Best thing to do with coiled cables like this one is to wrap the coiled part around your DD shaft and run a USB extension. If you crash and have to let go off the wheel, cable won't get ripped to shreds lol. Because the way it is now, it will 100% get ripped if your DD goes crazy.
Pedal plate flex is a bit too much, but your chose the rig you wanted. Maybe tryout a different pedal plate on this rig? Have no clue about its modularity, which is exactly why alu rig are so sought after.
For motions just add a bass shaker to front and another under/behind your seat. It will completely transform your experience. You will not have movement, but you'll still feel everything through shake.
Can't wait to see what you'll build in the future. I recommend you look into more of Simucube's products! My father has been building a sim rig for a couple years now and it's pretty incredible. Not cheap tho, pretty sure his setup costs more than my car.
