    Excellent, as always Mark. Great to see you out on the bike. As a motorcycle rider this is close enough to 'real world' conditions for my purposes when comparing cameras and would love to see it become a regular part of your comparison reviews. Thanks again.

    Thank you for the detailed video review! Currently, I shoot with a Hero4 and was researching how to improve my audio quality. I was on the fence in regards to the M1+A1 but I think I'm going to give it a go.

    I have a Hero 3+ but the water proof casing has not enough depth to encase the camera and the A1 together in it? do you know where I can find one that can work with both? your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    One thing I have noticed is that when using this microphone you do get a very small delay so your audio is out of sync with the film footage. If you look at about 13mins on and watch very carefully you can see it. I have to move my audio back ever so slightly in editing software to compensate. Think this maybe due to lag with the Bluetooth connection. Other than that its a great little device.

    what kind of battery life are you getting with it? I review i read said only about 20 mins of run time before it needed charged

    Thanks for the review Mark. For others, Mark was using a pre-production version of the M1+A1 and we have since corrected the connection issues shown in this video. Thanks again for the review.

  • @Shadowcruise99
    @Shadowcruise99 Před 7 lety

    I really don't understand the necessity of a ribbon cable. Considering that the receiver connects to the 30 pin port on the back of the camera, it would seem that audio could be fed directly into the camera thru that port.

    hi there, great vid! sorry if you have already detailed the answer to my question but i was wondering if the system is compatible with the hero 4 silver. i noticed it fixes to the back where the silver has it's lcd. does it need to be attached to the camera or could you have it in a pocket or preferably visible so as not to interupt signal? thx :D

    • @MarkHawkCam
      @MarkHawkCam  Před 8 lety

      It'll still mount properly to the back of the Hero4 Silver but if you wanted to avoid covering the screen, you'd just need a USB cable. However, we had issues when losing line of site with the M1 and A1 unit.

    Thanks for this. I am getting way to much noise when wearing it on my shirt, jacket etc. Even a slow make makes it sound like I am rubbing a piece of fabric hard on the mic. It is not in amplify mode. Unusable for me.

    Hi MarkHawkCam, I have the Removu M1+A1 and i am using the setup to record voices and as those are close to 1 - 1.5 hours. As the original battery doesnt last that long, i generally use a backup power attached while recording. Now I'm unablee to get the mic working when i plug the power on to the micro USB socket on the Removu A1. The moment the USB power is plugged the mic shuts off.. Can you please see if this is a bug? or is there a work around to keep continuous power long time recording.. !!

    • @MarkHawkCam
      @MarkHawkCam  Před 8 lety

      +Sunil Charly I'll see if I can replicate it on mine. So just to be clear, after trying to provide external power to the A1 while it was connect to the GoPro, the A1 stopped powering on under any circumstance? Or is it the the M1 Microphone now no longer connects to the A1 but the A1 appears to be working fine. I would contact REMOVU via email or even twitter. They are pretty fast to respond.

    • @sunilcharly5578
      @sunilcharly5578 Před 8 lety

      +MarkHawkCam: Sorry Mark for the delay as i had been travelling and had little access to internet. To explain further. i tried to power the A1 while it was recording (had no other options other than to power it as the mini USB port is occupied by the A1). The M1 shut itself off and there was not audio recorded soon after the power was connected. Looks like the connectivity goes off as soon as the external power goes in.. I hope you can try it and see.

      +MarkHawkCam Are you going to be doing any update video? As been looking into this to record exhaust audio on my motorcycle, but was instantly put off when the signal dropped without line of sight. I assumed being bluetooth in an open area that it would have been fine, i.e. Mic on the back of the bike, gopro on the chin bar of my helmet. Would have gone for the Sena, but the audio is horrible using anything other than their 20s intercom system.

      Planning on it but experiencing a little down time because of some server issues. I will say some of the concerns I had were answered by buddy Jeremy (link below) like the connection issues. Hopefully have something up in February if I can get the extra funds to solve some issues. Hope this video helps though: czcams.com/video/WnUffEUraXI/video.html

    Is there any Bluetooth mic like this that will work with a Hero2?

    • @MarkHawkCam

      If you could find a 3.5mm to bluetooth transmitter option, it should work. Nothing official I can think of though.

      +MuRReC No but those are provided with every GoPro Hero by default.

    • @AdvancedSquadLeader
      @AdvancedSquadLeader Před 8 lety

      +MarkHawkCam I mean, you need an extended one. I guess this needs to be bought separately? Thanks for the answer

    • @MarkHawkCam
      @MarkHawkCam  Před 8 lety

      +MuRReC I'm a little confused. All GoPro's ship with multiple back doors you can swap on and off. I guess you're right though. Now that I think of it, I can't recall if the GoPro ships with the extended back door anymore. Either way, they are not in the box. You can also use a extended frame case which ships with the normal case sold separately. Sorry for the confusion.

    Excellent review! Actually, it sounds better, more directed, when you have it in the waterproof housing.
    I just ordered it with the accessory package so I can use it with the Hero5 and the gopro mic adapter.
    I love the sound of this microphone ... Sounds better than any of the other options.
    I saw this microphone first on youtube's retire cheap in Asia series - czcams.com/video/ZfQ0grws7ak/video.html - and I was amazed by his clear conversational sound ... From the vids, I like the sound better than dragging along my cumbersome (at least with a gopro), Sennheiser Wireless system. Again ... thanks.

    Whilst very informative, you really do need to slow down and take a breath as you make people feel worn out, so please slow down, we can't all take it in that quick. Also I have heard that if you have the mic in the waterproof case you lose a lot of volume, but if you push the button again so that you have a blue and red light on, it increases the mic volume/pic-up.
    waiting for mine to be delivered so can't give my opinion that yet.
