Ive tried something like that. I was once lying on my stomach with my hand placed where my heart would be. Suddenly i could no longer feel my heart beat. My imidiate thought was "if it aint beating, i cant be alive". That sparked the worst panic attack i ever had. Right agter thinking that, my body went into full panic. I was burning up, it literally felt like i was on fire. And i was so sure that i was about to die. And then it just let go of me. Just like that. Been afraid of my thoughts ever since. I have no idea what could trigger it. So i have no chance of being prepared. It happend when i was 19 years old, im going on 30 now. I have kids that already pay enough for me having anxiety, i wouldnt know what to do, if i had an attack while being around them. I hate living like this..

@@kriketprayme . There is a solution to every problem if there is a desire and determination. . For a relaxed life without anxiety sit on a chair, back and spine as erect as possible, hands on your lap with palms upwards, close your eyes and do nothing. Be still without moving and observe your incoming--outgoing breath and body sensations for around 10-15 minutes. What is important is to be as still as possible. Plenty of thoughts will come but slowly negative thoughts will reduce. The mind is reprogrammed to reach a stage of equanimity. Do twice daily or as per your convenience. This could be life-transforming if you desire change. Take charge of your life. Best wishes. Shyaaam Sir. -Counsellor.

Not diagnosed but I think I suffer from social anxiety and/or anxiety disorder. The pandemic really brought me to this realisation and made me more aware. Ever since I was a kid I never knew what was wrong with me I was always shy and never spoke out. But for some reason the word “anxiety” has always been stuck in my head way before I knew what it meant. I pick up my phone everyday and go through my contacts but I don’t see 1 person I feel is right to speak to. And I’ve gained a lot of weight recently cause of my sedentary life. But what makes it worse is that everyone I see they’re first comment is about my weight gain and it’s getting a bit too much to handle. I have tried so much to avoid self harm but I just can’t find someone trustworthy enough to speak to. Every time I try to say something it feels like I’m impaired from speaking. I hope I get help someday soon cause I don’t know how much longer I can take all of this.

Okay I was in your place but anxiety is SO TREATABLE! When I got therapist that suits me I felt like I have never feel in my life. That smoothness and beauty of life that I started to experience more and more often I had never experience before. I was shocked - is this how everyone else feel? Also there are medicines, I want to start taking them because I my anxiety started again now. So it will be sad that you take your life when it can be treated so easily.

I really want to tell her that anxiety is not something that comes and goes but is something that affects my life everyday and it is impossible for me to just stop worrying

The instant cure for anxiety is to understand the fact that there are infinite amount of possible outcomes in this universe and our brain only thinks of a handful . A bad outcome can become the means of a good outcome in the future. Just like that a good outcome can become the means of a bad outcome. For example, you lost your job (bad thing). But then you got a new job which is better ( bad thing led to a good outcome.) It's an endless cycle. So just go with the flow and don't think about it . 😄 Goodluck.

I have been trying to improve my confidence for a long time now with the gym and socializing more but it always shows up and makes it hard for me to talk and breathe, and i instantly start sweating. Sometimes i won’t even be nervous about something and it will just come out of nowhere and i can’t do anything about it

Dean, How are you now? Doing public speaking courses are useful. Be careful what you feed your mind. Avoid comparing with others, reduce negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed, avoid moving too much and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Never meditate with expectations but with awareness. Don’t fight your thoughts. With practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Observe your breath sensations before sleep, when reading, at work, when making a presentation, etc -----anytime-anywhere. Like me, make this a lifetime habit to have a better life. Best wishes--Counsellor.

I think I used to have anxiety. Always worried about how people thought of me, feeling I’m not as good or as smart as everyone, always had to put on a smile and keep the conversation going. Feeling like everyone else always has way more interesting things to say.
In a way it seems like it’s self inflicted with over thinking over and over till it became a habit in my mind. It was until I listen to motivational speeches, meditation, positive affirmations. For the first year it didn’t seem to make much of a difference, until after I stopped self development. Now a year or two later I realized I’m becoming more of what I wanted to be and I didn’t even notice.
I still have those thoughts but now I learned to not care and embrace it. I really don’t care now and feel sure of myself. “The art of not giving a f@&k” embrace the suck. That’s what worked for me.

But even before that, going out or even the drive to work would require so much energy, so stressful sometimes I wouldn’t go. Idk why I thought that was normal. Everybody's like com'on , face it without even realing what that means to somebody who's actually got to go through . A strong support system , however , really goes a long wayy in getting you your lost self-confidence back . I know because my partner does that for me every single day . Im not over it yet , meeting new people , going to unknown people still makes me feel like dying , makes me avoid leaving my room BUT I know , this will end too; this will pass too . Goin' to carry these lessons life long hehe . 💛

I really feel that I must quit my job, I feel like just about every one around me hates me. I feel trapped, I feel like there is some evil presence trying to harm me and destroy my life and my kids future. I didn't even know what anxiety was. I just thought this I life. I have been dealing with this for years but in the last 3 has got unbearable and really affected my life. I have been drinking for 13 years. Not in a way where I get totally drunk and act inappropriate, my wife has never complained of my drinking but I do drink a lot. And in the last 3 years I have turned to drugs, just marijuana pretty much as soon as it became legal, something I thought I would never do. But with not sleeping and the drinking I thought this would help with those things. I had no idea that it was enxiety. Now I'm having worse problems of not sleeping and anxiety. This whole thing has really affected my health, in the last 3 years I have also just had this thing of escaping into walking and running trails, biking. I have improved my health and look healthier appart that my hair has thinned during this whole time. I have been thinking of quiting my job for quiet some time and think I will but after realizing I have anxiety, something I never even knew what it was. I'm not really even sure what to do. I feel trapped in my life. I just pray that I can give my kids the future I have always planned for.

I always get them at around January to May for some weird reason since both last year and this year, and it’s usually for stupid reasons. I have to block anything in my head that gives anxiety until it wears down which takes months for it to just shut up. I could literally have a panic attack cause I didn’t do this fun thing as a kid one time.
